Dude, I truly hope that $6k guitar gives you many years of enjoyment. The one thing I like about it, with that pickup combo and the electronics, that guitar is very versatile in the number of voices it will make. Bought my first new Les Paul (Standard) in 1977. I was 16 and had fixed up a beater Chevy for $400 and sold it for $2400. I sold the car to buy the Les Paul (and a perfect condition 1965 Fender Deluxe Reverb). I had about $200 left so I bought a Ford Pinto….LOL. I still have the guitar and amp and was blessed to play in the U.S. & Europe, and play with some amazing musicians. Best of luck with that gorgeous guitar! Congratulations!

One of the guys from Led Zep walked into a car showroom, pointed to a car, and said he wanted to test drive it. Salesman asked, do you know how much this costs? I think it was Jon Bonham....drove car thru the glass, told salesman he would buy, and "don't ever ask me if I know how much something costs"

Hmm, me thinks that’s not very likely for most regular kids, growing up in average Canadian homes nowadays, but wadda I know? In any case, I’m super happy for Alex and I think it’s very cool to have such a wonderful instrument collection. :) Maybe Alex is on his way to becoming a Canadian version of Joe Bonamosa RE. guitar collection? 😁

I was 14 myself when I started out with my father’s old 1960 Gretsch 6120 in my family’s little band, but it wasn’t at the level as these youngsters are presently at. My pro career started when I was 19 or 20. :) I was 28 before I got to see Nashville. I was never the biggest name in Canadian country music, but then again, not many country lead guitarists from little ol’ Cape Breton accomplished many of the musical things that the good Lord blessed me with. In a nutshell, I’m plumb proud of the whole lot of y’all. :)
