Tomorrow is one year anniversary of baptism into the church. I'm soo grateful to be a part. I only wish I had come sooner. As I believed the lies. Thank God I found the true church!

Hi Mike, I hope you made it back since the time you wrote the above.
I hope you feel the love that the members of your ward have for you, and that they embrace you as a valuable member of the Lord’s church. I hope you’ve enjoyed studying with the missionaries. Just three nights ago, the missionaries in our ward visited our family in our home and gave us a message of hope, encouragement, and love of our Savior, Jesus Christ. We even talked for a while about my triplets’ many musical instruments that they play in their band and orchestra at school! But most of all, we enjoyed the positive and comforting presence of the Holy Ghost that they brought with them that manifested itself in our hearts as they spoke of Gospel truths with us. And just yesterday, we attended our stake conference, where a new convert spoke. He is a high school biology teacher and he told us his story of how, for several years, he noticed the way the Latter day Saint students conducted themselves and the kind of students they were, which caused him to be curious about religion again. It was a really uplifting story, and he told it in much more detail.
I have been a member of the Church my whole life, and my mother was baptized many years ago, when she was expecting me, so I was literally with her when she was baptized! I have always been grateful for her wise and faithful decision to join a church that carries within it the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ and its Priesthood authority that blesses all of the lives of its members. I hope you have joy and comfort in this knowledge, too! May the Lord bless you in your desire to become closer to Him, and that you will experience the love He has for you in great measure, is my prayer for you.

By Faith one obtains a remission of sins and eventually can stand in the presence of God.
Without our religious faith, without recognizing the reality and necessity of spiritual life, the world makes no sense, and a nonsense world is a place of horror. Only if the world has meaning at a spiritual level is it possible for human beings to keep going, to keep trying.

As there is no factual Mormon doctrine - one must obtain blind faith to believe in Mormonism.

    Do we practice polygamy?
No. Early in Latter-day Saint history, the Lord directed a limited number of Church members to practice plural marriage. However, in the late 1800’s, God directed that the practice should be ended. Since then, the Church has taught that monogamy is the marriage practice that the Lord commands today. Although some groups today still practice polygamy, they are not members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
    Are we Christians?
Yes! Definitely. As members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, we believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the Savior of the World. He loves us all more than we can imagine. Does that mean we have exactly the same beliefs as other Christian churches? No. But we definitely consider ourselves devoted followers of Jesus Christ.
    Learn more about our beliefs.
    Jesus Christ Is Our Savior
The greatest happiness in life comes from following Jesus. We believe in learning all we can about Him. You will feel His love for you as you seek to understand His life and teachings.
All Our Beliefs Center on Jesus Christ
We celebrate His matchless life and His infinite grace, and we invite all to come unto Him.
Why don’t we call ourselves Mormons?
The term “Mormons” is a nickname that comes from a book of scripture unique to our Church called the Book of Mormon. We didn’t come up with the nickname, but lots of people use it to describe the Church and its members. In the past, we’ve embraced the term and even used it ourselves, but recently we have asked people to call the Church by its full name: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This re-emphasis of the Church’s name helps us follow the Lord’s command given to the prophet Joseph Smith: “For thus shall my church be called in the last days, even The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints” (Doctrine and Covenants 115:4). It also helps everyone know that Jesus is the core of our religion and beliefs.
“Latter-day Saints” is a good way to refer to your friends who are members of the Church.

That's a lie, just because it's no longer done, doesn't erase that it was done. Smith did it continuously, and yall don't disavow him or that book.

@@SuperGamerB Would you disavow Abraham who had four wives? Jacob (named Israel), who had four wives? Gideon who had many wives and seventy sons? King David who had numerous wives and concubines, and was NOT condemned until he committed adultery and murder? Soloman who had 200 wives and concubines, but was not condemned by God until he started worshipping idols?
Would you erase those chapters of the Bible?
It was done in the Bible times. If God allowed and approved it for CERTAIN men, would you disavow God?
Please don't be narrow minded. Yes, Brigham Young had many wives, I think mainly because when the saints came across the planes with only handcarts or wagons, many of the men died, and so did children. These widows now had no means of support, many had children, and no one to take care of them. Would you want them to suffer?
And you're right; Joseph Smith had plural wives, but these wives were FOR ETERNITY, not for time. The reason? If we knew the mind of God, then we would BE God.

@@chischilisnez7811 Right on, except the Bible states that Solomon had upwards of 700 wives and concubines. Yikes!
