MKM being the Broadway Elphaba during the movie release is so deserved & something I’ll genuinely never forget. She is special beyond words & exhibits such a beautiful balance of both strength & vulnerability in her portrayal- reaffirming that these 2 things can and often do coexist at once. Every decision she makes is nuanced & meaningful, she’s just brilliant. I don’t mean this is in a “comparison” way bc I’ve adored every single Elphaba, but to me MKM is the only other Elphie that emulates the intangible magic that Idina did- it’s intrinsic & can’t be learned. Truly my GOAT and ultimate standout Elphie of the last 2+ decades
I just saw Alexandra Socha and Mary Kate Morrissey on Broadway. They were amazing - fantastic singing and acting. The production continues to have great performers carry the show’s legacy of 20+ years on Broadway. Alexandra’s Popular and MK’s Defying Gravity and No Good Deed were remarkable.
I love that they not only did a phenomenal singing job but stayed in character the whole time. (Also, I love something about both of their choices around enunciation in the slightly more casual parts?)
Alexandra Socha was my first Wendla from Spring Awakening. She went on unexpectedly, and she was incredible. I am so glad to see her still thriving on Broadway.
I had never seen Wicked or read the book until 3 weeks ago. I got to see these two on Broadway. Their performances were out of this world. MK’s rendition of Defying Gravity was stunning and left me speechless for the intermission. These two will always be “my” Glenda and Elphaba. Thank you for sharing your gifts with the world!
I saw their debut together back in March!!! Both so amazing. This is seriously the best cast assembled together for WICKED's legal 21ST BIRTHDAY and with the movie coming out!!!! Both bring such truth and honesty to the roles.
Came here after seeing MKM disgracefully mocked wicked the movie at a podcast.. sigh.. such a shame smearing the supportive name of broadway community just bcause she misunderstood why people praised the live singing in the movie, eventho the casts repeatedly saying its a nod to honor the broadway one.. sad
I’ve heard singers in unison that sound fine with vibrato, but I agree these two have a different vibrato rate and it sounds a little abrasive when they sing together
The intense eye contact really made this performance
They sang into each other's soul and it was emotionally painful to watch in a good way.

She's been playing the role off and on for ten years, and it really shows.
I completely second your thoughts, love MKM!
I just saw MKM and Alexandra on Broadway last week and I have never in my life seen so much talent on stage. It was beautiful to watch!
i saw them in NYC too!! such a emotional performance
Alexandra Socha and Mary Kate Morrissey are LOCKED IN. Loved their eye contact and physicality!
I love how it truly seems that every Elphaba and every Glinda do change each other for good after playing the role.

@@tuyenbuiMary Kate Morrissey announced her departure date - her last show will be on March 2nd.
Is no one going to talk about, "Like a seed by a sky bird" ?? SO GOOD
I get insane chills when Alexandra comes in with the first line. Just beautiful!
I really need their studio recordings version of the Wicked album pls 😭😭😭
Thank you for crediting the accompanist.
My fav song from this musical!! I can listen to every version

These two incredibly talented actresses are keeping the legacy alive and show still running stronger than ever. Bravo!

Incredible vocals. Incredible acting. Not just notes on a page. They made be "believe". ❤
This song wrecks me every single time
This is a great performance-they're both so good.

Looks like Alexandra really knows how to pull at my heartstrings…❤️
Amazing duet. Those girls have a huge talent! 🔥
Magnificent duo. Imagine how Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo will sound when they perform "For Good" in "Wicked Part 2" next year?

I can't wait to hear Cynthia and Ariana sing this
The singers are lovely, but the accompanist is playing with quite flat fingers. Just an observation.
They shouldn't use vibrato when singing in unison. Those notes sound off.

"A exclusive"? SMH.
well yes???
