  • Offset Smoker.. Stick Burner.. Baddest Smoker on the Planet..Whatever you want to call it. The Outlaw Smokers Patio model is the King of Offsets. Honestly, it could be the only smoker you need. Small enough to put on the patio and impress your friends, not only with its looks, but also with it's superb cooking ability. Also, large enough to cook a contest and put a whoopin on the competition.
    In this video I just want to give a brief overview on how to season a new smoker. A quick look at how I manage fire and temp control. And we will also throw down some awesome proteins. Pork ribs, pork brisket and a an awesome chuck roast from Porter Road. Hope you enjoy the video.

    I wanted a Workhorse 1975. The costs for an offset to me in my opinion are really prohibitive. Price makes me want to build my own however Old Country BBQ Pits has come out with a G2 offset the is more in the reasonable range, 1/4 inch thick with an insulated firebox that allows you to save fuel, 50% wood. Only thing I don't like is it is a 20 inch chamber and I would like a 24 inch chamber. Test of the G2 was in July 2024, Steve Gow.

    I want to see guys making magic on things 95% of people can afford to cook on.
    My brother tried to cook something at 275° as suggested on another channel. But the cook didn't mention you can only cook like that on a smoker that costs more than his car.
    Food looks great. But the 3 people you're talking to that can afford that smoker probably already know.

      I know an Outlaw is not in everyone's budget. That's why if you check out more of my videos you will see that I also put out alot of food on a Weber, a pellet grill and even a $2 grill I picked up at a yard sale. Cooking is my hobby like hunting, old cars, or motorcycles are to others. Instead of sinking thousands into a motor I sink it into a cooker. Check out my other videos and you'll see that it can also be easy smoking on a Weber. Appreciate you stopping by.

    Hey Jay! I bought mine awhile back and have been trying to achieve a 225 with their setup. And thoughts on how to do this? All I could think is to lay expanded metal in firebox the opposite way of course build a much smaller coal bed.

    • @MojoBarbeque
      @MojoBarbeque  Рік тому +1

      A small coal bed is a start. Also, get you an extra long loaf pan off Amazon and use it for a water pan in up front. It should get you down lower in temp. You'll have to fire more often. I've ran 250° consistently with this setup but never 225°.

      It's a big yes from me. The reason why is I know this pit will be here smoking away when I meet my maker. The quality is exceptional and the builder is even more awesome. Easier to run and will outlast any big box store smoker. I'd rather buy one and take pleasure in knowing I won't ever have to ask my wife if I can buy another when the cheaper on burns out. So yes it is a big investment but it's only a one time investment. Unless you like them so much you've gotta have two. Then I say yes to buying two. Never know when you'll have to cook for a crowd.

      Me too. But I had to do it for the tube. Seriously, I understand but it was worth saving up for. This smoker will be here when I'm gone. Appreciate you.

    For it's name sake it's hard to make sense of letting it rust like that...

      Thank you. The clearcoat stops the rust process so we shouldn't have any issues. I just wanted to be different and hopefully a little cool.
