I just got a ranger just like yours, but white and your my inspiration to make mine look like yours.. I'm a woman and i have beeing doing everything by myself. and your videos are really helpfull.. thank you..
@@OhYeahAboutThat I'm not surprised rangers last forever if you do all the basic maintenance. I just got my second ranger a 98 5speed manual 4 banger and I want to do a little lift and things like you did. I used to have a 94 4.0 automatic and I loved that one too but I really like the stick shift and the 98s looks over the 94, the year you have is probably the best looking in the front end in my opinion.
I build 2wd rangers because I've never had a 4x4 ranger handle what a 2wd ranger can my toy is a 98 mid travel Ford ranger PreRunner build and my daily is a 01 edge 5 speed lifted as well I go wheeling all the time and have no problem going where most 4x4 trucks go let alone if I get stuck in my PreRunner you're 4x4 won't make it trust me !
Even though you sold that YJ, I still watch your videos. You do everything the right way and it's inspiring to someone getting into entrepreneurship. All my money goes into trying to make more money so that I can do stuff like this. You seem to be enjoying financial freedom. Love the content.
JeepWhyJay thank you for the comment. I’ll have another Jeep one day. I’ve had several in the past. Financial freedom? I wish. I do enjoy these vehicles and the little projects I’m able to do with them.
On my second ranger now. My first truck was a ranger. It was my dream truck before I could drive and still is to this day. I break my neck looking at these trucks more than any other vehicle 😂 this series makes me want to restore mine. Thanks for sharing 👍🏼
Nice Ranger! I had the same lift on my '08 Sport and loved it. if you want more travel inexpensively, '90s Jeep Cherokee front shocks will give you a few more inches there and early Super Duty on the back for about twelve inches. Both bolt right on, but you'll want adjustable ones to stiffen the front as they're not set up for the leverage of the a-arms, and soften the rear because it's half the weight. lol
I'm doing a 98 did a new 8.8 with 5.13 gears and 6.5 lift with new leafsprings that has 6 leafs per side instead of the wimp stock springs and front with 4 inch lift spindels and 2 in lift spring with all new 15x10 rims with 35,s in back and 33 s in front and every thing under the truck that unbolts getting replaced then a camo paint job on top of raptor bed liner, going to run the 4cyl for a while to take advantage of the gas mileage after driving a dually with a 454 in it that gets 7 miles to the gallon but later I may take the 4cyl out and swap it with 400 small block and a muncie 4 speed that should be kinda fun.
Hey man that's a beautiful truck.. my son owns the exact same vehicle in Red.... And he is in the process of lifting the vehicle now Ford ranger it's a great little I have owned many in my time keep trucking ✌️
I fit 285-75R16, equivalent to 33x12x15 without all of that. Stock ride high is same for 2wd and 4wd Edge. All that I had to do on my 2004 Edge 4x4 was crank the torsion bars to max. It leveled the truck perfect. Tires cleared with zero issues of any sort.
I recently got an 05 Edge 2wd Ext cab and I have been going through the videos for this truck and now the black ones for ideas. I definitely want to give mine a more level and 4wd stance.
Bro.. You are such an inspiration. Looking to buy my 2nd Ranger project truck. But through your videos, I see that I don't have to go through the expense of buying a loaded Ranger off the bat. I can save money on the front end and get a good donor, then over time I can do all the upgrades and personalization. Thanks for all the videos. I have watched them all, and subbed. I know they take time to do, edit, upload, etc.
I have an '01 XLT ranger 4.0 SOHC 2WD and I absolutely love that truck although I'm going to have to rebuild the engine at some point due to a rear main seal leak suspension work and tires are a definite must soon bought it for 600 bucks all I did was rear brake lines and upper control arms and it's driving nicely other than cupped tires and 205000 miles in planing on either V8 swapping it or rebuilding the 4.0 and making it a mild build engine. Paint job is also a must but that'll come later
Looking to do this with my ranger! Seriously looking to buy that same kit you bought as well. Was EVERYTHING you needed included in that kit? Besides asking them to include the longer shocks, and do they charge anything extra for that?
Devin Fine I called the eBay seller and had them include the shocks. I also then purchased rear loft blocks because I wanted it to sit level. All of this stuff together was from eBay. Find a seller and call them to get your exact price. Overall, it was not costly.
I think they were. I doubt the factory shocks would have had enough travel. There’s only one way to know for sure! The sad part is my rear shocks were new when I got the truck.
Devin Fine I have a 98 ranger and I did a 4 inch lift on mine, I went to a actually company called Max Trax, they came with a 4 in spindle and 2 inch shackles, I bought 2 inch lift blocks on the back and it sat perfectly level. The stock shocks do not fit with the lift they are too short and do not recommend driving with them after the lift.
I was watching a video on UA-cam about how bad lifted trucks are. It says that lifting them causes so many parts to wear such as transmission spline shaft could snap off overtime from being at the incorrect angle, wheel bearings, axles. Is this true? Because I want to lift my Ranger but I don't want any of that stuff happen lol
Can you please tell me the eBay seller for the new tires and the numerations. I'm lifting my 2000 4x4 ford ranger and likely to upgrade the tires. Also would I have to install the spacers? Thank you for your time.
Here’s the link. You should not need spacers to clear the 15x8 wheels for these tires. Good luck rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F111982980599

wow looks awesome man, i have the same exact truck except mines an 03, same color and everything. Plan on doing the same thing in the near future. how difficult was it to install the spindles? also did the lift blocks come with shims to correct the pinion angle?
Toxicity thank you, fellow SOAD fan! The spindles required some grinding on the lower control arms, but totally doable. The lift blocks were made for this truck, so they had the correct angle built in.
Great little truck. Since it is a 2wd running that size of tire. Regear to bring it back to stock gearing. Put a Detroit Trutrac in the rear, and you would have a sweat capable little rig. Again, nice truck.
Gorgeous truck! I have a red one, too! Edge, from 2002 and I can slide the windows in the back... I love it. I'm learning a lot from your videos. Great job! Thank you! 🛻✌️

I never really noticed it until now but that truck was dropped in the rear to even out the ride height if anyone has a stock ranger edge or maybe any stock ranger then you know about that terrible rake. it had a piece of 2 inch square tubing on top of the leaf springs but from factory they come with a 1.5 -2 inch block that is mounted under the springs but because it was dropped that’s probably why the shackles didn’t do much but regardless of all that to get it leveled out the way you wanted it you would’ve had to buy taller lift blocks anyway which is what I’ll end up doing as well
I love your proyect my friend! I have a Ranger 2005 double cab... I'm eager to work on it based on you ideas. You are antes inspiration yo me. I hope to have my Truck as Nice as yours! Waiting for new videos.... Greetings from Argentina!
Why are the factory lift blocks between the leaf springs & u bolt hold down brackets. Put them under the leaf springs & you will about 2- 3 inches how ever tall those factory lift blocks are
After installing your lift kit, what camber bolts did you purchase? Did the bolts fix the camber issue? Will you need to install aftermarket upper control arms to fix ball joint angles from the lift?
I just got a ranger just like yours, but white and your my inspiration to make mine look like yours.. I'm a woman and i have beeing doing everything by myself. and your videos are really helpfull.. thank you..

3.0 V6

5 speed manual
It’s crazy how many people are talking mess cause it’s 2wd like the average person uses 4x4 more then a couple times a year.
Jonathan Lamb true. It doesn’t bother me. You need to have a thick skin if you have a UA-cam channel! Thanks for the positive comment.
I use 4x4 4-5 times a week riding around my failed checks traps and hunting

Why are the factory lift blocks between the leaf springs & u bolt hold down brackets. Put them under the leaf springs & you will about 2- 3 inches how ever tall those factory lift blocks are
I have a 2007 ranger and im planning on doing something similar to this
u got parts numbers...?
After installing your lift kit, what camber bolts did you purchase? Did the bolts fix the camber issue? Will you need to install aftermarket upper control arms to fix ball joint angles from the lift?
Camber bolts were just from eBay. They fixed the problem with no need for UCA replacement.
At the start of the video there was an ad for the new front-wheel-drive garbage that Ford hung the Edge name on .😞
