Jon and The Band Geeks fit together so well. They sound like the YES of the 70's! Can't wait for the release of TRUE on August 23, 2024. Going to be a great album!!!👍😎
Yep, Jon is 80 in October 2024. And how does his voice sound, phenomenal. We saw him live exactly a year ago now, in July 2023. He was sensational. Jon and the Band Geeks are truly amazing together. 🎶❤️🎶
Some motifs are clearly a homage to 'Heart of the Sunshine', but that aside this is very much its own thing, as you said. Modern Prog! Let's hope that we both have the chance to see Jon live, whilst we still can!
I listened to this yesterday again and it is the kind of song that keeps playing in my head. I think it sounds like Yes West (LOL). The Big Generator era was when I was first introduced to Yes and then I immediately went back and caught up. Been following ever since.
Totally agree with your conclusion: please protect Jon at any cost! The man's a blessing for the whole mankind... or at least for us fans 😛 Keep rockin', hugs from Italy!
"Shine On" is catchy as hell, especially that strong chorus. I hear shades of Trevor Rabin era Yes here as well as _Drama_ vibes, especially on the bass. A great homage to Chris Squire. The keyboards are definitely more complex than 80s Yes and vocally with Jon Anderson as the lead singer, it could only be Yes music. Amazing how great Jon still sounds at his age. It's hard to believe the guy will be 80 years-old in 3 months time. I can't wait to hear the whole album. Jon has assembled a fine group of musicians with a lot of creativity and a deep love of Yes. Sorry I wasn't here for the premiere, but I'm here now. As always, appreciate you taking the time, L33, for YesSaturday!
Such a catchy tune by one of the original Prog Gods and his new, very talented band. I'm really looking forward to hearing the other songs on the album when it drops in late August. ❤✌
Here is a collaboration between Jon and a band called 4HIM that very few people know about because of the genre. The song is "The Only Thing I Need" and its Jon in his prime with the 4 excellant singers from 4HIM. Nothing fancy but just a beautiful little song. ua-cam.com/video/I9sNTGhvVjs/v-deo.html
So great to see Jon making new music, even if it's not at the standard of the classic stuff. I would this compare it to Open Your Eyes. The sad thing is Jon could be making this music with Steve and his crew, although honestly I'm not sure they'd deliver as well as this.
I love Jon Anderson and The Band Geeks, but I'm not a big fan of this song. It's very good, but it sounds like something off their Union album, or Big Generator. It's certainly better than what that other YES band is doing, but it's still not the Prog that I want. Hoping the album has some great Prog on it.
Better than the crap Howe is putting out with Pseudo YES. ITs definitly not radio friendly but at this point YES is just whatever it is. ITs nice to hear Jon again but his lyrics are a bit disjointed. Sounds like Big Generator and Asia had a baby. THe power of the universe universe of love section sounds forced. Music is definitely YES ish. Considering its a new project as they gel (if it lasts) they will hopefully find a sound for the future.
Jon will be 80 in two months.

Hi Jeff! Will you be at Great South Bay? 😎
It's great to hear new Yes music!

So damn catchy! I feel like I'm back in High School. I'll be seeing these fine gentlemen in 8 days!!
So psyched! Thanks Lee & Paul~

Me too, Susan! So good! Enjoy & be well~
Jon’s a treasure. His voice is as young as his heart. What a sweet expressive being.
Lee’s beautiful shirt shines on, too.🙂

He really is a blessing! I hope he survives as long as possible to keep inspiring those who will listen :)
The best thing from anybody in the 'Yes' universe in a long time!
This is absolutely GREAT 👍
Jon is 79 years young🙏
Can’t wait for 8:23:24. Great pick Paul. Jon is ageless, must be that spirituality. Thanks Lee for the reaction.😊
Having seen Yes age over the decades😊 -knowing he’s going to be 80 is really a gift! He’s got an amazing force❤
Morning Lee and everybody
Release date is August 23

Going to see them live next Sunday
Really like this .. and he still has the voice
I love this track. Not much else to say but looking forward to TRUE. Thanks for reacting.
Great song! I have my album pre-order in. Can't wait until 8/23.
Just saw them two weeks ago. No opening band. A lot of noodling. Jon was awesome as ever...! Their Yes tunes were excellent. Such a great show!
Refreshingly good !! Jon is always looking to move on love the band geeks 🙏
What's his secret? Usually, the higher vocal ranges deteriorate in upper age. Jon will be 80 this October.
He's special. 👼❤✌

Now this sounds much better the current pseudo YES with Howe
I didn't quite get the verses when I first heard it but its hit home for me now. That's what I love about prog, takes a while to grow on you.
Going to have to put 8/23/24 on my calendar
Can’t wait to see them in AZ next month! But also can’t wait for you to dive deeper into Rabins years (90125, Big Generator, Union, Talk).
🤩

I hear Union😊

IMHO This is YES
She’s Richie’s ex-wife.
