Hey love! Just wanted to let you know I used this and a couple others videos of yours to take the leap and make a new Gaga wig! I was terrified to cut one apart and sew it into the other, but your tutorials are so detailed that I felt safe doing it!! I was also scared to tease the crap out of the wig to get height, but your teasing tutorial helped tremendously! Thank you for making these tutorial videos Bobbie. It says so much about a professional when they're willing to share their techniques with the world. You're such an amazing person :)
Your tutorial is so helpful!!! I was worried for my cosplay that making my wig so massive was going to be troublesome, but you made the instructions so simple! Thank you so much for your help!!
You're a genius! BobbyPinz.com is where I go to see the finished and styled product but then come watch your videos for how to get that look. I must say, it is a lot of work, and you make it look easier than it actually is (your experience shows!). A lot of this is a lot easier than a thought, but not really "easy". It's time consuming but I've learned so much. Thank you! Keep the videos coming. And if I can every afford to get a canvas head, I'm going to be practically limitless. I can't wait. Thank you for sharing your craft and teaching the rest of us. PS: I'm engaged to a guy who's a drag performer. I do all his hair and sewing and paint him for every performance. You've actually taught me a few tricks of the trade about the drag world too. I'm a licensed cosmetologist but beauty school didn't nearly prepare me for this!
When you cut out multiple (2-3) wefts at a time, do you only do the blanket stitch at the top of the wefts, or do you sew through all three? Sorry if this is an obvious question..
Can you maybe do a tutorial on how to make/attach a large ponytail wig like gia gunn? I've heard a lot of people asking about that and im interested in it too! Ur the best
To answer your question, you would attach the "pony tail" which is actually just a wig to a bump and make a fall out if it. In other words, the "ponytail" ( wig ) is "falling off" ( pinned into ) the bump and creates the illusion of a big ponytail.
Hi I have a question. I have a wig that I hate the length of the top, it has bangs and I want long hair on top. How would i take an entire wig minus the top part I do not liek and splice it to a new base with the length on top i want. Hope this make sense lol
Absolutely Love Love and am thankful for this tutorial..I plan on doing this for some Big Beautiful Diva Texas Hair to wear in the Fall! Hugs and Blessings to you..
Hey Bobby! First of all, love ur tutorials. SO helpful. Question. I got two wigs, a lacefront and a 3/4 wig. Usually I wear them on top of eachother but since the lacefront is a bit thin, it still looks weird. So I wanna sew them together. Why do you remove several wefts at the same them and sew them as one piece on the wig? Why not removing the wefts one by one and adding them to the hair (Just like a pack of wefts?)- like you do in another pic? What are the advantages of this? Like you do it now, is it not getting visible or does it not make the wig fragile?
Luukmovies Hi there, good question! I removed the wefts in the this wig a few at a time because it was rather thin and it didn't make sense to me to cut them apart one at a time and waste the time when doing it several at a time was faster. You can totally do them one at a time, which I often will do when the wig is on the thicker side and especially when you get into the top portion where the wefts are more visible. This wig was getting teased up really big so, the wefting wasn't visible in the final style. The fragility of the wig depends greatly upon your sewing technique, the thread used and how close together you put your stitches.
Hey Bobbie have you ever sewed two full lace wigs together. I have two both have no density and I would like to combine them for that thick full lace I originally wanted
I can't say that I've ever combined two full lace wigs before, especially not in this manner. Honestly, it would probably be easier to just sew wefting into them (and you'd still have two wigs, versus one) versus cutting apart one and sewing it onto the other. But if you feel like trying, let me know how it works out!
Full lace wigs can take between 40-80+ hours to make, because they are fully hand-tied strand by strand. If you want the best, you're going to have to wait for it.
I totally understand and thanks for the reply/clarity. Your right. Check out the pros and none of that other stuff Jaz Jackson, Ivy Powell and Fabulosityitsme are wonderful at wig making and weaving. Def will subscribe to your channel .
So I have a question. I bought a cosplay wig and it turned out to be so thin it's crazy and it's dark pink on top and light pink on bottom. I have some blonde clip in extensions I was going to put in the wig (sew them in) to make it fuller. what color should I do the extensions. If you look on Amazon and type in "two tone wig x&y angel" it'll show a light brown to blonde wig but look at the most recent reviews the wig is like a dark pink to light pink and I don't know how to dye these blonde extensions to this color
wow your tutorial was impressive-- prolly because I don't know anything about wig sewing and you are so talented xD. Where can i get a commission by you? What is your website :D
I have a LF that was too expensive & too small. I added a piece in crown. The wig lost its shape its flat! lol like a squirrel!. would u tell me if placing a weaving cap inside the wig will help the wig regain its shape? Ill pay ya
+Angela Ernst NO!!! NEVER!! Hot glue is for arts and crafts. Hot glue is not a permanent fixative, especially when dealing with wigs. The heat and sweat from your scalp will loosen the glue, and whenever you wash the wig the glue will also loosen and pieces of weft will always fall out. I've had friends bring me hot glued wigs to restyle for them, and it took me longer to re-glue all of the loose/fallen pieces back into place than it actually took me to style the thing. Sure it takes a lot longer to hand-sewn the wig together, but because it's much more secure and sturdy you'll save time in the end.
+WigginOutBZ Thanks for the info. And thanks for your incredibly informative video.I'm trying to volunteer around my city at local hospitals as your favorite princesses. styling wigs is something I'm not good at. I'm trying to look as real as possible for these kids and your videos are helping me do better. I still have a long way to go but hopefully I'll get there because they deserve the best. thanks so much.
Great job..but why do you cringe at weave videos? You use the same terminology like wefts, tracks and stitching methods, and anchoring. Awesome job but wigs and weaves are a lot alike!
Thanks! I know that it is very similar and it is the same terminology; I was speaking generally of the weave and "wig-making" tutorials utilizing glue and styrofoam heads.

Good one. I've done basic wig conjoining for volume but now look out! Thanks

AsuraOmni through all of the wefts.

Just curious. Your the best wig maker on UA-cam. Adding tracks would make sense
Thanks!
WigginOutBZ please tell me where I can buy the best custom full lace wig that won't take forever to get

Do you know of any place to get that base wig online? I can't seem to find it, and none of the beauty supplies in my area seem to carry that brand.
I have no idea!! I'm sorry! I bought it at a shop here in the city!
Beautiful! Would love to see a tutorial on an asymmetrical pageant look
Fabulous!!

I know your comment is older, but my advice would be to dye them with fabric dye then sew them. Just look up how to permanently dye synthetic wigs.
blanket stitch on a smaller scale can be called a button hole stitch :D
Ahh!!! Gotcha! Thanks!! :)
you are a genius!
best recommendation for a first timer?
Always do your research!
WHOA WHOA WHOA!!!! I can take a class with you??????????? Hold up! How do I get this??? I would pay all the things!
wow your tutorial was impressive-- prolly because I don't know anything about wig sewing and you are so talented xD. Where can i get a commission by you? What is your website :D
Every wig is different too.
Yes. Yes, they are.
Gotta feel it you can't teach ppl that.
No. No, you can't.
I have a LF that was too expensive & too small. I added a piece in crown.
The wig lost its shape its flat! lol like a squirrel!.
would u tell me if placing a weaving cap inside the wig will help the wig regain its shape? Ill pay ya
Hmm.. Possibly? I'm having trouble picturing what you're talking about exactly, I apologize. If you email me some photos I can better guide you!
ok I will gotta find you email
I've heard of people using hot glue instead of sewing. have you ever tried this?

Bobbie, why are women wearing "roots"now, I've spent the last 50 yrs getting rid of them???
HAHA!!

I also feel that many of those videos have terribly incorrect information, and yet have thousands or millions of views! :/
So how do I get you to build wigs for me? Girl I have no time to build wigs. Im a big girl and I need big hair. Hit me up and lets chat...
My email is in the info box, please email me.
