Elders are not supposed to be leaders, because their life is no longer ahead of them. Our societies are so afraid of mortality, we are being burdened with a gerontocracy, that is yet another expression of intergenerational injustice. Elders deserve immense respect, and should offer advice and wisdom to young leaders in their prime, who also need the opportunity to learn from experience. Such leaders are inherently more accountable to the future, because they have a greater stake in the future.

Good podcast, but you missed the main point. Politics is all about retaining, or gaining,POWER. It is no longer about serving the American people.
Biden has plenty of opportunities to prove he isn’t slipping… he just needs to do some adversarial interviews. If this isn’t a one time slip-up, if the problem was just a cold, he should show us.
Biden appeared so much older than Trump, old man shuffle, frail voice and posture, senile open mouth stare, painful watching him struggle to come up with words, confusing beating COVID with "beating Medicare," leaving the public with the perception of early stages of dementia. Trump likely will cancel all future debates and Biden would not be able to recover after the first debate. Biden should step down for the good of the country. To me his skipping the Superbowl interview was a red flag that he must have gone extra downhill really fast. -It's the shortest, most butt kissing, softball question interview a president could ever do, with an audience of 123 million viewers. I’m a conservative independent… yes, there is such a thing. There is NO POSSIBLE WAY I would ever vote for trump. From the beginning I opposed Biden being the democratic nominee, always thought he was too old, and someone else should be the candidate. Now, however, if he stays in, I will definitely vote for him.
