Thanks for watching! I would love to see you on Twitch, we have a ton of fun there! www.twitch.tv/alexandercoccia
thnks for the vid alex.
i was thnking like that before decide to rank up my collection, but i was bored, im so regreted right now
That’s how I play. Every type and play math.
What does pool 1 mean? How do you stay below a certain pool?
@@darkknightx0992 when reaching lvl 214, you unlock all the cards from "pool 1", enables you to make any pool 1 deck, the eficient method is ranking all levels until "infinite" before spending any crystal upgrading cards, i was climbing very fast (lvl 70) , i get bored and spend my 1000 just to see the new cards, now im struggle to win against better decks, im lvl 65 now
I really only cared about getting to rank 40 because Miles is my boy and I wanted his avatar. But one thing I love about this game is that the ranks really don’t mean anything beyond the (admittedly nice, but ultimately non-essential) rewards. I had amazing progress early, but am not great at the game, and am now kinda stuck floating around rank 40. But while that would annoy me with another game, I maintain my same enjoyment with this game win or lose. I don’t feel like I’m missing anything (except a couple cards I wish I had got through ring already, but those will come eventually)
Yeah now it's been feeling more pointless with the namecards scattered between, it used to be tempting before.
No fear young padwans, you can also play as build colection, have fun and forget about rankings. There is many ways to play it, just do watever make you happy. You still climb anyway 😉
Yep thats what im doing. If u play like this u can even minimize the stress from playing and enjoy the game more with also more experimenting with decks
@@TungNguyen-oj1dv Just play disrupt decks to annoy and win games laughing against this sweety sinister bar location/dino decks players. Never gets old 🤣 Alex have a good pool1 disrupt deck guide if you need help. Try it and die laughing.
My goal is the variant because I am f2p, Card Back would be nice but I can't grind it. I am at 60 up and down, now I am just rushing caches, hope to pull something nice.
@@Jemo142 Watever makes you happy my friend. There is no point in grind like no tomorrow to get burned. Just enjoy the game like you doing, you will get there. None of us that played beta got full colections instant, took time as well like you. This new model is not even micro transactions trap. Just keep playing and enjoying the game 😊
@@Drakevid If you are a exclusive focus pvp player that may happend, yes. But even then you have pretty good pool1 decks that can climb to 100, like dino deck. Wen you get used to the mechanic of it, i would say that even a new player can win 80% of the games easy. Just remember to keep yourself bellow pool2 to make it even easier. Make other easy deck like zoo to rotate and not get burned. Try to have some fun friend 😉
You nailed it with this video and confirmed all my suspicions as a new player. I shot up quickly to rank 60 while playing tons but being short on credits (sitting around CL104'ish). Then, I was searching for key deck pieces so I optimized gold/credits to upgrade collection. Quickly, I shot up to CL208 and paused there as I noticed the competition was increasing. I wanted to halt CL progression in order to stay in Pool 1 and try to climb to Infinity. BUT, my credits are accumulating much faster than my rank. Gotta give it to the Marvel Snap team for really nailing so many aspects of this game.
100%! What you noticed is absolutely how it works. In the end, its the right decision. This game is awesome, and we want it to be a positive experience long term
I really don't get the mindset of sitting in kazar zoo hell tho. Is it really better to sit pool 1? Everyone is playing the exact same deck in my experiencr
@@hellfire6714 there are like 1-2 decks you see in pool 1 it gets stale so fast. I may have made it harder on myself but I enjoy increasing my CL and just learning how to play with and against all the new awesome cards
@hellfire6714 I know this is an old comment, but that perfectly sums up pool 1 experience past rank 20. Kazoo is so annoying that I'm running a counter deck just due to it. It's annoying to only fight one deck all the time. I want to crack into pool 2 already so I can fight new stuff.
I am so grateful to watch this video and even more grateful to read the comments. This game is all about playing lightly and happily, without any pressure, ranking is not the most important thing, it is just an extra reward, the important thing is to have fun. Before I clicked in, I kept putting pressure on myself to move up the rankings quickly, as if I was competing with others for higher rankings, as if there was already a ranking list that would show my name when I climbed higher. But I understand now, and I've rethought what I want from this game, not more stress, but more fun.
This is an absolutely incredible way to think about this. Wonderful comment! At the end of the day, its all about having fun. Different people have different priorities. Some want to rank, some want to collect, others want to deckbuild. Its all about enjoying your time with what is a truly fantastic game!
@@AlexanderCoccia Yes, enjoy rather than oppress when pursuing what you want. The community here makes me comfortable. Thanks. 😊
I feel the same way. But its hard cause I want that card back for infinite rank
@@TheSleepingStormie The card back is really stylish, maybe it is a symbol of masters.😄 Just do your best, or upgrade your collection to convert other strong decks in the pool 2 3, there is always a way to get what you want. 😉
@@AlexanderCoccia thanks so much! This is my third day playing and I’m at CL 80 so I haven’t built it out yet! My deck is working so far, and I’ve been wanting the rank rewards!
This is all well and good, but some of the synergy and abilities that the other cards have from Pool 2 and Pool 3 are fun. I know you're just saying to rank up for the Infinity rank - but staying in Pool 1 for so long would become a little stale for me personally. Thanks for the great video, I'm glad you put these helpful vids out. Cheers!
Exactly my thoughts. I want everything possible at my disposal - I totally get this video was just for getting rank, though
starting out this is best advice, pushing to much the fights get harder and its harder to rank
I watched your Dota Underlords content back in the day, and it helped me alot.
Just started Marvel Snap and found out that you now make content for this.
I rarely follow creators, but I think your videos are very informative and fun to watch so I'm glad I stubled upon you again :)
Will try to catch some live streams as well (weird time zone though)!
Same bro
I wanted to climb to infinite before goin to pool 2 but i realised its so grindy and I wasnt having fun anymore so i decided to hit pool 2 and focus on collecting cards and playing more fun decks
You know what, and that's the thing some people might miss. You're like me... I LOVE the game and LOVE the collection part of it. I want the variants, I want the art, ect. I want to deckbuild. Rank isn't everything, and as long as you're having fun thats all that matters.
Already entered into to pool 2 but I found that I'm still able to climb albeit slowly. Just hit rank 81 today, hoping to at least get 90, the card back is sweet but that gold is where it's at, maybe I'll stick in pool 2 for a while though
That's fantastic!!!
Pool 2 is much bigger than 1.
This is what I've been intuitively doing. It didn't take me long to figure out it was mainly based on collection level, although up until now I thought rank also had some bearing.
Awesome!
I think it is interesting to see what they do with the infinite leaderboard with the current matchmaking system. Will this means 3 leaderboard for each card pool, or just one unified leaderboard? Because if I'm a beta player having the no.1 infinite is a pool 1 player that climb the infinite ladder fighting rank 30-40 players might feels bad.
if I were to guess (I don't have any relevant info about this) - but the logical choice would be to make it so that once you cross rank 100, you are no longer "protected" by your lower collection level as a new player and if you want to climb further, you've got to beat maxed out players.
I just love you so so so much Alex.
You are an infinity tier human being.
So much love and best wishes.
I will wait to pull sinister from collection and then do what you are suggesting.
I do figure that out myself about the pairing system so now I seldom upgrade my card unless required on daily mission
Thank you so much for this information… I’m in pool 2 so I’m guessing if I want to keep on par with playing middle of the road players I should stay in pool 2
Thanks for the tip!
I just didn't know, I started the game 5 days ago. I was pushing my collection to get more cards, to tune my deck even more. But now that I know that and I now my deck is completely playable without any additions, I would stay collection level 115 for some ranks grinding!
No nono this video is out of date. Don't do what I say here. Play the game, upgrade cards, and build a collection. This was made during launch. A lot has changed
@@AlexanderCoccia Oh..well, thank you!😂 What has changed since this video? Is matchmaking working as it is in other games, beside the fact pool 1 players keep being matched only with other pool 1 players and so on?
Thank you so much for this video! Tbh I thought of the same I'm not 214 collection level yet but I am pushing to get all the cards from it as I still don't have America Chavez yet and that's a card it really fits my stile of paly.
You're welcome! Chavez is SO GOOD its a shame you haven't got her yet :C
Thanks for the advice only wierd thing is I'm in pool1 but have ran into a captain marvel no other high cards though and no it wasn't down to the location abilities that could be a devesting card in the right situation imo
Timely! I've been pushing my collection and nearly out of P1 now, but perhaps I'll still around a bit just for some easier resource unlocks...
thanks for the tip alexander. but i have question. if we keep collection level low, how do we collect a good deck from the pool of cards?
This is my question too. How high should you push? I know there are some key cards you get pretty early on.
Damn you right, this is great info. I was debating buying the pro pack to push collection, too.
What are the pool levels? Can this also be achieved stopping in pool 2 and no go to pool 3? I think im in the middle of pool 2
DAMN ...... I wish I had seen this AWESOME video when it first came out 3 days ago!!!!!
Not until today did I realize that there are different 'Pool Levels'. The reason I found out was because I went from basically slaughtering every player I face (80%+ win rate, I kept paper records for this since there is no W/L stat in game), to getting my teeth kicked in. It got so bad I started to write down and keep track of every stat in the game I could. What I didn't know, was that at 'Collection Level' 223 (I believe) you advance into 'Pool 2'. My current Collection Level is 302, and that's because, despite getting killed now and having a win rate of 33%, I kept playing to try and figured out what was happening.
THIS VIDEO EXPLAINS IT PERFECTLY !!!!
TYSM 😊
At this point, I'm debating starting a fresh account, only thing stopping me is that I know I will not get the same cards in the same order.
This is great advice, and I wish I would have seen it a couple of weeks ago when I installed the game.
Great Video. I have a question however. What happens if someone with 50 collection points... purchases the season pass ~ getting a seasonal card (usually top pool), like black panther or silver surfer? Does this affect his collection score? sending him to pool 2 or 3?
When is the best time to upgrade CL to pool 2 and higher? Currently Im 214, top of pool 1 and about to start grinding rank, but I want to eventually get to pool 3 so I can have more cards and get more variants.
Great explanation! Thanks for the awesome content.
hello! thank u for ur content! im learning alot! do you have any tips for the people who accidentally went into pool 2 :") (i.e. me)
since im already in pool 2, should i just aim to max out pool 2 cards to compete with the players in that bracket? or would they match me with people with low pool 2 collections, since i just entered pool 2?
I entered pool 2 accidentaily too (didn't know pools existed) lost 12 levels in ranks before deciding to delete my account and start fresh. If you don't want to start fresh then you can just suppress for collection level and early pool 2 and still try to grind, it should be a bit slower but still doable IMO
if u want to rank u just need to snap earlier, snapping at later turns will make your opp retreat most of the time, for me i dont care about rank at all, i pretty much just do daily and play the game without caring too much about rank, being a try hard will just make me burnout from the game
Thanks for the helpful video!
Alex you are talking about me lol. I had a great time in pool 1 and pool 2. Now I am in pool 3 and getting my butt kicked. I went up to level 78. Playing as you mentioned beginner decks. I am facing guys with cards that make me hit the " What Just Happened" button. I am now all the way down to level 67. I have been leveling up one card at time to max. I am still way behind. To be honest it hasn't been fun lately. I will keep trying tho. I watch you and others every day. Thanks for what you do!!
I stopped my collection level at 214 that way i only face pool 1 players with only pool 1 cards while still having all the pool 1 cards
With this being the case, it sort of means that being inefficient and using quick upgrade for cards you want upgraded isn’t bad since you’re slowing your collection progress but not just sitting on 5k either.
Fair enough!
Great stuff, thanks Alex
Thank you!
Hi there, cool video, If i am already low pool 2, should i stay there or should i complete the pool and then camp ?
I hit the wall at 80 and can’t get any higher - I’m new to this game and still learning so I’m stopping putting pressure on myself when I play peeps with cards I’ve never seen or not yet achieved.
It’s still a very fun game to play :)
so should I stop upgrading when I get every card from pool 1 and then just keep playing ranked as is?
Oh snap, brilliant
Damn yesterday i grinded with my kazoo carnage deck to pool two
Quick question, do rank rewards change over time or will they remain the same.
Btw love Marvel snap, doesn’t seem predatory and u are a great content creator for it.
Hey Alex, your theory has some merit. Was around CL760 and made it to rank 41 but after pushing to CL 871 I bounced around and sat at rank 36. Watched this video and stopped spending credits to move up the CLs and now after about about 20-25 games I'm rank 45 now. Can beat this level consistently, so I'll stick around here to get rank 60 and the variant. Thanks for the tip.
had to sub after all this juicy info
Welcome to the channel!
Question...if I just dipped into pool 2 will I matchmake people who are also just getting into pool 2? Or will I face people who are just finishing pool 2?
I think there is a wrinkle here. I’ve noticed I get easier matchups when I have active challenges to complete. Once I’ve completed my challenges it gets harder and if I use gold to get more challenges, it all of a sudden gets easier. South Park Phone Destroyer does the same thing when you are playing for a pack vs when you aren’t.
Anyone else notice this?
I really wish to see
this video before pushing pool 2, I drop down to rank 58 from 67 and feels pretty bad cause i cant find a deck that click with me like I was in pool 1 (I played only dino hand but I feel pretty weak his pool 2 versions). So Please just hold the urge and dont push collection level!!
I'm happy to have been able to help
What a bombshell of a video
Wow
I should have been sitting down
Seeing you on rank 47 makes me happy I'm at rank 41 after wins and losses I'm not far behind Alex lol
I was just about to spend some credits on my collection, but I think I'll wait for a bit-LOL
THANKS
OMG THANK YOU ALEX
Man.. wish I knew that ahead of time lol. I'm CR 474 and keep grinding rank back and forth in the 50's
I just got into Snap a couple of days ago, bummed I missed out on that Venom card back but oh well lol
:C it was a cool cardback, but getting to that rank can be challenging, so it wasn't a guarantee
I did this the 5k credits mean as soon as you cap you have to spend same as you would anyway, ended up getting infinite at 220 ish. Also you match on collection level and rank so you meet a lot of other sweats doing the same.
Thanks for the honesty
I was just thinking I had way too many cards to level up, and I guess I'm doing the right thing here haha. Gonna save on the credits then.
So does it matchmake based purely on your current pool, or does your actually collection level matter? Basically if I go to level 213 can I still match a pool 2 player
I believe it to be a range based on your collection level, but no one knows for sure except the devs
you should start posting more about Pool 2 decks or cards from pool 2 that improves pool 1 decks 😊
Thank you for this vid. I just now found it after all these months of the game being out. I had no idea I was facing stiffer competition because of my collection level 😅 I honestly thought it was bc I had gotten to rank 70. Now I’m stuck around 30 with all these super experienced players and it’s draining on me. I can’t get further than rank 50 before the next season 😢
if i am at the begining of pool 2 does it mean i will have to face someone at the end of pool 2 as well? should i march toward to end of pool 2 and stop there?
The only thing with this is I think it's not great for a player to focus on ranking up without progressing their collection as they're going to have much less experience against newer cards and combos and will be thrown into the deep end all at once hoarding everything until later.
So im around lvl120 how far should i go before stacking it up ? Still missing some key cards for those juicy beginner decks !
I am absolutely shocked by this information. It completely explains why I am having so much trouble this season.
Hey Alex so my collection level is at 215, basically barely enough to get all the pool 1 cards, unfortunately my last pool 1 card was America Chavez which is used in a lot of pool 1 decks. My question is, is that a fine enough collection level you think to try and push for high rankings without running into those high level decks that are beyond pool 1?
Got into infinite and never even touch america chavez. Very doable
@@nullpo2478 sounds reassuring hearing that, thanks my guy
Yes, you can absolutely do it!
Been playing for 2 weeks now and my current collection level is 430. Also im fp2 so I dont know wherw this puts me in terms of progress standings. But my current big problem right is that I cant seem to get past Rank 47. Every time I get there, I get people with the late late pool 2 decks and just get completely shut down. I've tried kazoo, move decks, destroy decks and INFINAUT cheese but still no luck in getting past that😅
Good Information! Ironically i kinda did this on accident. I made a new account so i can max cards out sooner and keeping my collection low so i only pull those cards. Glad i accidentally made the right decision for a different reason haha
also side note. I haven't collected any of my season cards or progression cards (unless needed) to lower my card pull pool.
So are there only 3 Collecrion lvl tiers or is there multiple tiers in each pool?
I'm at about 515 collection level, they're into pool 3. But I'll only play against people around 515 right? Not people with nearly full pool 3, right? So I can still utilize this now and not worry about facing full collection players?
Me with a collection lv of 740 already lol. I finally hit infinite last night the last 90-100 was a real pain learning curve wise vs beta players with stacked pool 3 decks. Infinaut and storm control deck was my mvp
Storm with Sunspot and Infinaut is UNREAL. Congrats on Infinite!
Me too…this game is pay to lose😅, would you mind sharing your deck, I stuck at around 65 facing all those combo decks
JeffHoogland just put out a video that completely contradicts you, he makes reference to a couple of your videos specifically - I'm not sure who's right, I just upgrade as I go to suit myself - I hit level 70 last season [started late] and just entered pool 3, there was nothing I couldn't handle, didn't see any mad decks like I've seen some streamers play - they were more pool 2 with the odd pool 3 cards here and there, much like my own decks tbh
So maybe the game has gotten harder now since this video was posted cause ive been doing this already and i cant for the life of me get out of iron rank. i have stopped at collection at 175 and have 3 decks with my current set of cards but am struggling so much. Idk what to do.
Is matchmaking based on collection level or pool? For instance.. if I’m in pool two and want to rank up using a pool one deck, should I stop before I hit pool three or stop altogether?
Should primarily be based on a range of collection level from my understanding
Does the game match u against ppl with the same collection lvl or pool base? I was in pool 1 but the moment I got 1 pool 2 card, my games became harder…
I believe it to be collection level, but I am sure they use a range.
So, should just grind the ladder and not grab any rewards until I get the card back? I think I can do that.
Oh shit! Thanks for the advice! Omg xD I'm glad I started my account over, I didn't everything wrong with it I see.
But I am in pool 1, played the game for a week, currently ranked about 450 but facing decks with new cards these 2 days. I was winning almost all matches before, now hardly winning 1 against impossible to win cards from a pool 1 deck. What should I do?
If you're already in pool 2 so should I stay at pool 2 as long as possible?
Up to you! Technically it shields you from pool 3 players
I know what.. I really think you're 100% right. Because I broke into pool 2 yesterday and now I'm losing lol
lol :C
So I should hoard to 5000 credits and then be very inefficient with my credits by using them in the store for fast upgrades to extend my time in pool one?
To rank easier, yes
There is also a hidden MMR. So you are matched against people of similar collection level and hidden MMR. You DEFINITELY get a free rank 100 if you want it before you hit pool 3, just play zoo until you star seeing a lot of killmongers in pool 2. The first rank 100 took about 15% as long as my second rank 100 so enjoy it while you can.
I just found that out lol. Play zoo . Zoo is reliable and consistent
im level 210, rank 44 i think ill stay there even when i get up to 5k credits, to see where i can get with the ranks , and then ill go on with the collection. what u think?
Where can I see the official release card pool distribution?
I understand what you say but why are they matchmaking like that? what's the point of the rank? at least they should match having both things in consideration, mainly rank.
Are there exceptions? my Collection level is onl 71 but im rank 62 and i've been playing pool 2 cards for a while now
very usefull like always :) but I have a question: I'm a FTP user and play snap about 2/3 weeks so far...I ranken up my CL up to 970 to have the 100% possibility to drop what i want from the spotlight...
What can i do NOW to rank up without pain myself like hell??! XD
I have no hope? :(
tnx ^^
Lol i knew this and I couldn't keep myself from pushing into pool 3.
I'm stuck around 47-49.
But if you at the beginning of pool 2, can you face people at the end of pool 2?
Been playing for 5 days now & just hit galactic lol. Never heard or looked at anything about this game before but I’ve played card games my whole life and have always been pretty good.
Currently masters around like 75 LP in legends of runterra, platinum in Master duel, and when I used to play hearthstone I’d rank pretty high despite being f2P.
I unintentionally ended up implementing the whole “not raising my collection level” strat Because I was just winning so damn much that my collection level couldn’t keep up. I had hit vibranium by the time I reached pool 2.
I’ve used a variety of decks and this is definitely a big tip I’d give other people, be adaptable with what you play. Early on from like agent to plat I mostly played curve and zoo. Then from Plat to vibranium I mostly played zoo and destroy. Then from vibranium to now galatic I’ve almost played exclusively devil dino 🦖.
Ofc a big component is also learning when it’s best to snap, and when it’s been to retreat. The absolutely max # of games in a rank I think I ever lost 8 lp (wtv it’s called) was maybe 4? But on average it was probably 2-3 games if even that.
Incase anyones wondering I’ve only gotten the $2.99 welcome bundle so far and I don’t intend to spend anymore money. Even with that it was only for the gold as I’ve barely used captain America
I have to make a hard decision, I am CL 200 so I'm close to leaving pool 1, the main reason I play this game is to collect all the cards and have fun, so I either stop leveling cards and push ranks or I continue leveling to collect more cards, any tips on what's best?
….it’s the easiest decision actually…Main reasons: collecting cards. Get all the card.
@@helloman3676 yes you're right, I made that decision
how do you suppress your collection level and then raise it back?
do you just open new accounts every day?
This advice is outdated, just upgrade your cards and keep collecting!
I was doing fine until I got to pool 2, then I started facing people with pool 2 decks with any pool 2 card in mine, so the jump there is difficult, I guess is even harder when you reach pool 3.
I made a new account when I saw this and now I'm at the end of pool 1 with silver surfer and black panther I went from 30 to over 100 in less then 2 days. Having season pass cards in pool 1 is overpowered
So what about next season? Still keep collection low? That's going to be the case every season
HOw do you know what "pool" you are in. Is there a list of pool 1,2 and 3 cards? EDIT: LOL nvm found your video on card Pools. Thanks in advance.
I got you fam! I explained it all right here: ua-cam.com/video/Wx5I2SCKziM/v-deo.html
That’s why I’m really having a hard time grinding to infinite, 80+ right now and man. It’s really competitive when you got all the collection level through the roof.
makes you a better player in the long run though. these pool 1 and 2 players will get shit on in months if they stay at pool 1 and 2 for too long
Seems too me I always get matched with someone who has most of the same cards in their deck that I have, idk how to check other players rank or collection level but whoever I face always has at least 5 or 6 of the same cards in their deck that I have, I have yet to face anyone that's playing a completely different deck....I don't think it's about collection level at all, I think it's deck based, if I play a mutant deck I get matched up with someone else playing a mutant deck, if I play my first deck I get someone else playing all those same cards, I have 7 decks assembled so far and every time I switch up decks I get matched with people using most of the same cards in their currently equipped deck
I do know they match you with bots till 20ish. Then real players but idk if things have changed because I'm still not in pool 3, yet I'm seeing venoms popping up, a couple random pool 3 cards nothing like half the deck only a couple sprinkled and it's not every game it's fairly rare but it happens and I'm experienced enough to know its not from a agent 13 etc ability or location. I'm collection lvl 436
Thanks man this will help me. I got the got last week and now getting my ass kick
Funnily enough, I realized that on my own yesterday BUT I'm already a few levels above the threshold to Pool 2.
I haven't played a lot since that realization, so I don't know who I'll be matched with but I sure hope that they actually match by collection level (and maybe additional, secret MMR info) and not just by pool range.
@@badwolverinex17 True. I guess they could use the cards you've actually unlocked.
But... I wonder why they don't just calculate ranking based on how often you've lost/won against which players.
It has been working for chess for a long time, why shouldn't it work for card games?
There is a very good chance that the matchmaking methods will be modified over time.
I currently collection score 80 should i stop there or continue up score?
Don't sandbag, collect cards and build up your collection score!
I started the game on zabu season, i reached vibranium with 650 CL and was facing 8/10 players with CL 2000 or higher and rank 100
So, one thing i can take from this is that by stopping your collection lvl you can essentially keep playing against newer players that are now getting into your collection level, "boosting" your rank. Their tactics to stop higher experienced players to steamroll over new players kinda fails in a way. I still find a lot of good players at my collection lvl, but some you can tell are very new.
but if we don't upgrade collection how we gonna get new cards? isn't collection upgrade the best way to get many new cards? or im wrong?
No you're not wrong. It's kinda the catch 22
I'm pool 1, collection level 210 and rank 60. Why do I keep facing pool 2 and 3 players?
It's so frustrating
Do you guys know if you start at one rank if you get all the rewards that are behind you as well automatically? If not then you kind of cheat yourself out by being a high rank. The lower you are means the more rewards to grind for.
