You’re an honest mechanic. I’m wondering if this is the same issue I’m dealing with at the moment. I replaced my alternator. When I took it out, it was covered in oil because my valves gasket is damage and it’s liking oil. I didn’t clean the harness so hopefully that fixes the problem.
I believe a have the same issue with my 2010 Maxima. I have replaced the alternator twice and battery three times! The dealership even replaced the alternator once. I'm going to check this since my wiring is in the same condition. Thanks!!!!!!!
@@ZeJic I didn't clean it; instead, I replaced the alternator pigtail connector . Now, I'm going to pull my alternator this weekend and check it/replace it because I think it's dead again. I found there was rust in the old connector, so hopefully that's what was killing everything. I'll let you know.
Crazy how all of us are in the same shitty position at the same time. Literally just towed my car into a dealership after replacing my battery last week.
We have a nissan murano and been to 3 different mechanics, new alternator,, new battery etc etc ..only difference is it will suddenly cut off but once we boost it off it will go a week or so and do the same thing just die out while driving..the mechanics run test and say they can't find nothing.. Definitely need your expertise!
I had the same issue with my 16 Maxima , replaced the IPDM and the car stopped stalling out, but now my alternator keeps burning out. I am on alternator 4 or 5 in 6 months. I have changed it so many times that I can't keep count.
My factory infotainment/radio on my 2012 maxima won't turn off once I turn car off. Could this possibly be the issue? The battery is new. And the car just recently shut off while I was driving it after jumpstarting it in my yard.
I have a 2011 maxima car stalled changed the alternator and the alternater pigtail that's what the mechanic did ..changed the battery too now stalled again with all lights on and no power ..everything seems good battery, starter and alternator what could be the problems?
Sir my 2009 is in Nissan with the same exact problem and this makes the 2nd time. Was wondering did it fix the issue for your client? I’m having something like that , my car runs and dies and goes again, any idea I don think it’s the alternator because it starts . Is Nissan a bad car?
Hello I have a 2010 Nissan Maxima. I replaced the Alternator, the Battery and the pigtail connector for the alternator harness. Still getting the same problem not holding charge. Also checked the fuse and its fine. Can you point me in the right direction for my next step?
@@netovando found out that the new alternator I bought was bad took it back off and had it checked. Then to top it off they didn’t have my warranty in the system and I bought the new alternator in December and had it installed thinking that it was a major problem. But ended up buying another new one and finally getting my maxima fixed and getting a refund from the first one I bought after complaining and showing my bank statement

This is exactly why i don't want to just jump in and replace the alternator with out checking everything. Same issue on my murano. drives for 10-15 mins then loses power and and dips down to 11v and goes into limp mode. Let it sit for a few hours and it fires back up with 14.2 volts and the pattern repeats. I'll check this next.
Can someone explain to me how the issue was fixed without watching the entire video? I’m having this exact issue with my 2010 Maxima and just want to tell my mechanic what to look for
2011 Nissan Maxima: Over the course of years before I bought the car from my sister the battery would randomly leave her stranded (or so she thought) but it's odd that the car would start just fine and after a short drive of perhaps three minutes and about fifteen minutes of her shopping the battery suddenly dies when she gets back in (her job and the store were very close so it was odd that it would crank once but fail less than 30 minutes later). I buy the car and change the alternator and the electrical connector for the alternator cause the plastic was brittle and broken, I did this cause the battery would randomly be drained after the car sat for weeks or sometimes only days. Car works fine for a few weeks (not driven regularly though) and I find the battery is still draining cause it's dead one day, but I charge it up . A couple of weeks later I got in the car and it cranked just fine but then after I put it in reverse all the warning lights come on and the engine wouldn't rev up in reverse. I put it in drive and the motor will rev up and move the car, put it back in reverse and get nothing. I buy a new battery and the car is cranking and working correctly, after a trip the battery and brake light start to flutter on and off but I make it home with no issues. Now the battery and brake light keep coming on but the car is working fine, though I note that if I rev the motor up I can make the light go out after a few times reving the engine. Opinion?
IM LITERALLY HAVING THIS PROBLEM AS WE SPEAK!!! the battery and brake light pops up and goes away when I hit the gas pedal but as soon as I take my foot off it’s pops up again. Idk what to do smh
@@nazierchew4168 I'm still studying but I've come to the conclusion it must be the IPDM. My mother owned a Nissan Altima that also had the issue of a dead battery (I'm not sure the batteries are really even dying cause I've had a fully charged battery click the starter like it was low when I know it wasn't) but it had a good alternator and the only part relative between them (engine electronics wise) is the IPDM. You have to look at the numbers on the IPDM though if you want to hunt one from an Altima cause different year models may use a different kind that may not work, interchangeably. I'm not 1,000 percent that this is the true fix cause I'm still hunting a junkyard IPDM but I know everything in my charging system is functional. I've checked out pretty much everything and I'm just about certain the IPDM is the issue.

check the negative (ground) cable from the Transmision to the battery, sometimes when that cable is bad the transmision drains the battery
