Great episode! This is one I haven’t seen. I always enjoyed IGAS from 1972-73 as Steve Allen was a great host.

Henry Morgan was interesting to watch on the Goodson-Todman panel shows. Regarding "I've Got a Secret", he made no secret of the fact that he disliked Steve Allen, who took over the show in the mid-'60s from Morgan's friend Garry Moore. Morgan almost never applauded any contestants, had little use for chitchat, was prickly about question/answer protocols, and at the conclusion of a show where the panelists and contestants mingled, he'd simply walk offstage as soon as the credits rolled.
Also of interest: during this time, Morgan was living in Ontario to escape from an ex-wife who kept trying to pursue him for money--he would apparently slip in and out of New York for tapings of these shows.
Henry Morgan outlived many of his contemporaries (dying in 1994). He did some snarky radio commentaries on WNEW in New York in the early 1980s, and then mostly did off-camera voiceover work in the '80s. (Aside from his '40s radio shows, Morgan was one of a rotating lineup of deejays/hosts for NBC's "Monitor" radio broadcasts from the mid-'60s to early '70s--playing easy listening records of the day and discussing topical events of the day.)
While Mr. Allen and Mr. Morgan may not have enjoyed an amiable relationship, it's rather strange that Mr. Morgan remained on IGAS from 1964 to 1967 after Mr. Moore's departure; and further that he apparently chose not to work with Mr. Moore on the syndicated TTTT show between1969 and 1976. In addition, why would he have consented to reprising his role on this version of IGAS with Mr. Allen?
Henry Morgan was intelligent and humorous. However, he was also an ass.
Henry may not have suffered fools but he was no fool. He worked for the money and he was good at the game.

Btw, she is still living at the age of 94 in Shreveport, LA. Miss Gillette is also still with us residing in Baltimore, MD at 85 years of age. The male regulars of this show have all passed.

If only at 18:00 Steve started saying that the previous segment was the biggest BOMB of all time! (and luckily for Pat Carroll didn't have to guess at that secret considering she was on the original version of that)
Another enjoyable episode of IGAS; although Mr. Allen was remiss in stating that Mr. Morgan had been a panelist for about 10 years on IGAS. In fact, he began several months after the original June 19, A.D. 1952 episode; namely November 13, A.D. 1952. He was the only regular panelist from the original 14 1/2-year run that held the same position on the 1972-73 run; although longtime panelist Miss Jayne Meadows (1952-58) was a guest panelist on several episodes.
Shame the mind reading guy didn’t come along several years later - he would have won a trophy on Penn & Teller’s FOOL US. Can’t see any way he knew the answers, unless the whole thing was a con, but the panel seemed genuinely surprised.

The Mind Reader was watching them write... not constantly, but kept turning his head slightly toward them, and watching the movement of their pens, therefore occasionally reading what they were writing. It's an interesting trick, though.
😅 You should be joking. You REALLY thinks he's able to watch all 4 of their small hand movements simultaneously from across the stage, with the clipboards obscuring almost everything, even if he were staring at them constantly, & know what words they're writing ???
@@1158scott Yes, I agree. That was NOT how he did it. The trick was impressive. I was thinking he maybe had an accomplice up in the rafters with binoculars, who then told the psychic the details via an earpiece. Even Henry was looking up to see if there was anybody up there.
