This movie was very violent, the beginning made me want to cry and I was angry! Glad Meceita got his revenge! Ennio Morricone really knows how to create an atmosphere with his scores. This movie has a haunting aura... And the score is quite haunting! Good movie that I'll watch again with my list of spaghetti westerns.

What a surprising treasure! I had to see it because I'm a super fan of Lee Van Cleef! Until I read the credits at the film's start, I would have sworn that Bill Meceita was played by Terrence Hill. But of course the part was most ably played by John Phillip Law, Anyway, this film stands out as a monumental spaghetti western, thanks to the extremely skillful direction by Giulio Petroni, who ranks high up there alongside Sergio Leone, which is a compliment that I rarely give to anyone! The masterful, rousing score by Ennio Morricone sealed the deal, elevating this cinematic jewel into a true classic of the very highest order.
this is the first time I've seen this movie and I just fell in love with it. What a great story cast and the way it was filmed and shot. 10 stars out of 5!

No one seems to have mentioned the music, by Morricone, which was used to such great effect in Kill Bill. I also remember this from childhood in the 70s and it's still one of the best non Leone spaghetti westerns made.

The US has done a great disservice to them even today by not telling there side of the story or even history. They held out pretty good till overwhelming numbers and technology forced a surrender. I still hold great resentment over forced resettlement, luckily my great grandparents missed the trail of tears by staying in the mountains of N.C. None of that means I can't enjoy a good Western even if I do root for the Indians.

WOW!!! Man is it so good to see a fully restored Print of this. For a long time this wasn't available on video or dvd. When it first hit the internet it was a poor print, and not all of the Beginning was intact. My older brother told me to go see this movie when I was a kid. This was one of my older brothers favorite Westerns. His favorite scene was the gunfight between Bill and the gambler! 4 Aces tattooed on his chest!!!! 4 bullet's in his chest!!!! Then comes.the classic line. "Always count your bullets son. 4 bullets for one man such a waste!" He talked about it for days. LoL. My brother is gone now. RIP. Ironically someone sent him 6 bullets. He caught 4. It took him 3 days to die. He was sitting up in the hospital talking with a shattered kidney blood system poisoned. I was told that a doctor past the comment or someone in the medical field working there," They said I don't know why hes hanging around. We can't save him. That's a dead man." "Bloodstream is poisoned." That's a true story. Strange, I never ever thought about the film story and his life ending story together until I watched this now. Rest in peace brother.

Fantastic print. Every other online version and physical media version of this movie I have seen has been a pan and scan, low resolution mess. To see it in widescreen was a treat. Seems like it was made a year before the good, bad & ugly. But if you read the opening credits, you'll see one of Leones' kinfolks name in there.
