Terence Hill was a very skilled actor, also in the more serious roles he did, although there wasn't that many of them from Trinity onwards. He had the looks and charisma perfect for this genre.
Of all the unofficial sequels that were made to the original Django, this one was probably the best one IMO. Terrence certainly was the closest to capturing the essence of what Franco Nero did in the original IMO. Wish the two of them had been in a film together.
One of the best low budget westerns I have seen. The story is quite strong (twisting but smoothly from chapter to chapter) and the soundtrack is bordering on classic. And then there is Terence Hill entertaining as ever whether it's comedy or in this case straight acting. Garcia is a decent character development alongside which lends some serious weight to proceedings as well as the more typical two main villains. There are some lighter moments and I don't think they were all intentional but overall Django, Prepare a Coffin (1968) is a consistently enjoyable watch.
I was loving this the whole time but I always kept thinking to myself "Is it really a Django film if there's no machine gun scene?" Needless to say, that ending was a beautiful surprise.

At any rate, the weapon we see in this film and the original Django is based on the Maxim gun, which just like a Gatling gun, was a type of machine gun developed in the latter half of the 19th century.

Terence Hill has always been a favorite of mine. This is a good movie, but in my opinion it was not his best work. Of course, he's not to blame; the actor doesn't decide how the movie plays out. But I liked him better when he would use all kinds of playful trickery in hand-to-hand combat. Still, I'm glad to have seen this movie. Thanks for the upload!

However its noted early in Hollywood too many people get upset seeing innocent horses "murdered" or hurt for many people had and loved their own horses esp in the heyday of Western movies = most grew up around horses as I did; seeing them hurt & suffer was a hard thing...! Realize the people alive in the 30's - 40's - 50's - 60's - 70's + beyond were born in the 1800's well before Henry Ford made the Model T and everyone started to drive them: horses were a valuable way of life and horses a family's and horses were a valuable part of their family survival living 20 to 30+yrs...! Be like when Old Yeller had to be shot = grown men & boys cried at theaters for they felt deep affinity for a faithful & special canine friend themselves...!
