@@Kayla-jy6vh actually FIFTH -- Tzuyu's from Tainan so most of her family speaks Hokkien (very different from Mandarin), she doesn't speak it much but can understand it easily

Usually when people speak other language their tone changes, but with Tzuyu she still has that south Taiwanese tone which is known to be very soft

@@prasithoudomvilay8454 Such a shame Mina's parents moved from Texas back to Japan before she could pick up English natively -- DubChaeng are making real progress (esp. Dahyun) but it's ironic that the two most proficient English speakers in Twice are Tzuyu & Mina a.k.a. the two most extreme introverts who don't like to talk

Nice job english is the most challenging. Lot of words sound the same but not spelled the same. Plus everything is backwards when you say it. Well to me all the others languages are backwards. But I know its only english. Congratz!

She's Japanese through and through. She was just born in Texas, she only spent time there as an infant. Her family pretty quickly moved back to Japan where she grew up.

I just wonder, it's fantastic if you can speak English? Coz in my country Malaysia/Singapore, speak in English is normal. They learn English in school to right? Or no English class in Korea/Japan education system. No hater, just wondering...
They DO teach English in Korea & Japan… The teachers just aren't very good and are too institutional to listen to the few native speakers who come over to help them 😕
JYP himself spent some of his childhood in America so he's fluent in English, that's why he requires all his Idols to speak at least two languages
