    Super inspiring. I have a workshop at home and I'm doing a single remodel on a vacation house at the Oregon coast. Even though I'm small scale / DIY, you present a lot of great concepts I have started to use. Thanks for the detail on your work.

    Much respect Ron! Nice Trailer!! And for the guys talking about tools ending up on the floor!! I live in Milwaukee which I think is the home of the worst roads due to sub zero temps to a 100 plus in summer! My system is very similar to Rons, drawers and cubbies! My drawers do not even have catch’s just friction slide and they do not open! And I’ll add I drive like I don’t have a trailer. (7’X14’) aka like an ass!... This guy is a legend - listen to him!!! 🍻

    I really like the work benches. I just bought a 7'x14' car mate contractor trailer. it came with roof racks and 3 steel shelves in the front of trailer. I want to build some shelving and cubbies to house some of my equipment so it wont get bounced around. I dont think I need quite as much drawer storage, but basic counter top and cubby layout that you have which will store work benches , saw horses, air compressors, mitre saw, table saw, Im from new England so I need to keep a propane tank and a propane heater, . most of my jobs are 1 day, sometimes 2, rarely longer than that. I install finished hardwood stair cases. I think im gonna buy your plans for mitre saw bench, and larger double work bench for use with table saw, also plans for trailer. thanks so much for sharing . also I got the ramp rear door on trailer and im glad I did, but my trailer has front side door also.

    👍👍👍😊 On the mini hardware store. I do auto. electrics & customers would always comment. Why do I carry so many consumables & do I ever use them? Then it happened. At 6pm one evening I needed globes to finish off a trailer after rewiring it. I walked over to my vehicle & grabbed the globes from the toolbox drawer. Job done.
    In my opinion, better to be overstocked than having to run around during a job to buy consumables.

    Nice trailer layout but I’d challenge you to drive that down a Vermont road there’d be tools everywhere

    Hi Ron ...Do you have any trouble with condensation in the trailer...? I use a van here in the UK and condensation is a worry ...espesially if I were to use your cubby system for my tools.... with regard to keeping them out of their original tool boxes.

    Great tool box Ron! I have a question regarding your cordless drills. I noticed you just place them standing up in their designated cubby and was wondering if there was a way you secured them whilst in transit. Or is that not necessary?

    You have the capability to show up at a jobsite and stay there, pull the rolling toolbox behind your RV. Do you have to do that at all or are your jobs always close to home?

    • @TheSmartWoodshop
      @TheSmartWoodshop  8 років тому +1

      My RV will not tow the trailer as it is too heavy by about 1000# In any case my furthest job is about 4 miles:0)

      I would love the convenience of working that close to home all the time. Many of my jobs are 10 or more miles from the nearest paved road. One of my clients is boat access only, snowmobile in winter.

    Where do you get your stackable plastic bins? Any places that have them bulk and not too expensive?

      I buy them by the case from Home Depot when they are on sale.

    Do you have any videos on how you set up your dust walls? I'm going to be doing a kitchen remodel and was wondering what are some of the best ways to put up a dust barrier.

      I have another question have you ever used the zip wall brand?

    • @TheSmartWoodshop
      @TheSmartWoodshop  8 років тому +1

      +Ryan Chaffee Yes, I started with a ton of zip wall. I purchased the FastCap magnetic door and from that point I changed completely over to FastCap. I use 4mm plastic and find FastCap is stronger, plus no tape necessary.

    You are so right about the disarray of materials/tools if you are not organized. You spend more time hunting than working. What size trailer ron????

    • @TheSmartWoodshop
      @TheSmartWoodshop  6 років тому +1

      This one is either 14 or 16. There are many videos posted about ART. The latest trailer I have SMART is 12'

      @@TheSmartWoodshop Ron TY man. I am getting so tired of walking around in circles for shit. Kitchen, baths renovations and you know what happens when your bouncing. Next thing you know 20 different tools not to mention materials. Then it is time to clean up. yada yada.
