Apples and oranges here.. they're both great! I wouldn't say one is "better" than the other. Just different flavours! That would sound massive running them both together. I dig it!!
These are my picks : CH3 River Flows - Mesa CH1 Jacket - Friedman CH2 Morello - Friedman CH3 Mastodon - Friedman CH3 Zero - Mesa CH2 NightTrain - Friedman CH3 Circles - Mesa Both amps sound fantastic, Thanks for making this video! 🤘
Rectifier Vintage mode is killer IMO, between that and the Modern mode you basically get the best of the late 70s/80s all the way to modern metal. Would have been interesting to hear the Raw mode on the Recto as well.
The recto had a nicer high end sizzle on the first riff. The Friedman sounded duller. Friedman sounded better on the Cult riff. The Audioslave riff sounded great on both. These amps together would sound great on an album with one panned left and one panned right.
Both of these amps sound great though I like the Mesa most I think. Your guitar tone always sounds great in all your videos. What exactly are the custombucker pickups you have? Are they with the alnico III magnets and unpotted?
Blake do you use some kind of “room emulator” software with your IR’s? I hear a touch of reverb or something. It sounds so good. I have the Suhr as well and just run the direct signal into reaper with no other processing and it always sounds so lifeless compared to your recordings.
Hi! I saw your other mesa rectifier clip... Far out the best sounding clips I have found. I was wondering... Is there a reason why the mesa has its output and solo volume on 0? I asume it is because the loop is bypassed. Is that a sound or sizzle decision? And does it effect much?
How would you compare your Dual Rectifier to the Diezel VH2 you had? I'm debating between these two at the moment as I have the chance to buy both and they're with $500CAD of each other. *unfortunately can only afford to grab one
VH2 has this unique gain structure to it on channel 2. Almost sounds a bit simulated or something- but in a really cool way. MW Dual rec was more fun for me personally
Both are incredible amps, it's like comparing a Ferrari and a Lamborghini.

6:20 Hell yeah! Circles is such a hidden gem for a drop D riff, and a rare tuning for Mike.
To where the river flows!!! Love that song and that band. Sounds great as usual dude!
These are my picks :
CH3 River Flows - Mesa
CH1 Jacket - Friedman
CH2 Morello - Friedman
CH3 Mastodon - Friedman
CH3 Zero - Mesa
CH2 NightTrain - Friedman
CH3 Circles - Mesa
Both amps sound fantastic, Thanks for making this video! 🤘
Ah thank you! Did not understand what "fizzyness" meant until i heard the Mesa contrasted with the Friedman. They both sound great though. :)

hey blake, its been a while...the recto sounds way better than the friedman to my ears...and i'm a mark series guy, go figure!!! cool video!!!
Man...I’m a Mesa guy for the most part, but the BE100 Deluxe has it all over the MultiWatt...
Killer comparison Blake!🤘🏻
Agreed. I've been a die hard Boogie guy since the 90's, but that Friedman slays!
keep in mind that this Mesa has EL34 - "THE Mesa Dual Rec sound" has 6L6 in power section ;)
The Friedman wins for me. It's not even close...
Also worth noting the Friedman cost nearly 2x the price! The Recto is really a tremendous value
Not in Australia. Admittedly used rectos can be had at a good price from time to time, but new, the recto is still about 80% of the Friedman.

One of those videos both beasts sound amazing on every example. but for me it is the mesa
Both are uniquely different tones. I think the Friedman sounds better. The Recto sounds too scooped to me.
Not even close, the Friedman all the way for me.
Both of these amps sound great though I like the Mesa most I think.
Your guitar tone always sounds great in all your videos. What exactly are the custombucker pickups you have? Are they with the alnico III magnets and unpotted?
Thanks man. I bought them aftermarket. I do believe they are either unpotted or very lightly potted
Those things are intimidating as fuck…just the sheer size

How does the low end compare in the room? I just ordered a BE deluxe. Sounds great in your vids!!!
BE has plenty. You’ll dig it
@@blakemansfield2356 Delivers tomorrow! 🤘🏻🤘🏻
@@Rooster7six so how is it ?
@@archery171093 gone after 2 weeks lol. It’s pretty versatile but not great for metal.
@@Rooster7six which amp did you keep for metal then ?
Both sound great. What's the reference to Jacket and Circles? I didn't recognize those two, can't seem to find it..
Found the Incubus riff, still searching for that Cult riff haha
tone sounds great. Less muddy-are you using the same path and IRs? Sounds different in a good way-less fuzzy and congested.
Nothing different from usual
Great demo!

Generally i like the Friedmsn but the Mesa shone on Zero.
Great playing and tones! Where you plugged straight in to the amps? Any boost or overdrive pedals? If so, what?
Thanks
Friedman!
Is the BE100 Deluxe capable of modern metal or is it more in the classic rock vein even at high gain?
It is capable of metal to an extent, but prob not my first choice for the super hardcore down tuned stuff.
Where do you get the custombuckers? Stock? I thought I saw you had them in a couple different guitars. Sounds fantastic!
Have to find them used unfortunately. Expensive for what they are but I like them
Shouldn't Jacket be Duffy?
Dammit! Ha. Too late now
Mesa all the way....Is it a special Rev @Blake ? thx
Just a regular old Multiwatt man
Friedman does the vintage rock better I think, Channel 1 sounded great. Dual Rec is best at the more modern sounds IMO.
The Recto just sounds so flat compared to the Friedman. It's not a frequency or amount of gain thing. Just sounds flat.
Hi Blake, how much more was it to do the custom blackout of the Dual Rectifier?
Hey man. Not sure honestly. Bought it used for 1200

@@blakemansfield2356 thank you
Friedman blows it outta the water for me
i hope it`s not IR) Great sound as always)
Yes Suhr RL with V30 IR
Friedman would sound better than the Mesa in a band situation.
Friedman
Nice 👍 video do you have an Instagram account?
What’s name
Wrong speakers for the Friedman. Next time use greenbacks, or 2 greenbacks on top of 2 v30s.
I apologize wise one, but there will not be a next time
