God this is such an amazing companion piece to the show. It gives the isolating feeling of being in his head and how he’s fighting against all these voices to choose something better. Season 1 opens and closes with Stede so we know his arc, but weirdly Edward is hiding even in the show behind his own persona. So effective and beautifully done.
The way I identified with Ed during the whole show was practically a personal attack. The extreme and dangerous boredom, the impulsivity, the childhood and adult trauma... Watching the kraken appeared, the one thing he fear the most, honest to God made me so incredibly sad.
No! Ijust realized that if the kraken is the thing ed fears the most, and that the kraken is blackbeard, then he's the thing he fears the most!!! I am not ok!!! 😭😭😭😭
No doubt that editing is everything, this is a comedy show and the way you managed to turn this video into drama and character study for Blackbeard is amazing!
