For those who didn't understand what's happening here, Shaheen wrote a book on depression. Her father got pissed on the question where a reporter asked whether getting out of depression/a sad person can seek an answer. And he got angry as he explains there's no answer to depression or sadness. People who say words can take away someone's depression are stupid and liars, even psychiatrist for that matter. A depressed person is a sad person who cannot seek answer from anywhere because no other person got an answer to anyone's emotional, mental pain. Alia is getting embarrassed and scared on other hand, I won't call her childish for that , I think she knew how high her dad's anger can shoot.

Even I believe that depressed people are the scariest... Because you'll never know what's happening with them... Most of the time introverts are depressed coz they don't know how to express, or how to mingle with society to relieve their stress... You only pity when they kill themselves...but a depressed can be hardly helped....it's tough...in a very sophisticated world privacy of a person matters...we do not interfere in other people's matter....we do not read someone's diary...but the reality lies there...their deadly thoughts...it is hard...the answer lies within ourselves...when we calm our demons ourselves...may God help us all...🙏

Apart from that - the quality of comments on this video show how brainwashed people have gotten. They don't even want to use their rationale and just want to focus on the hateful agenda of the current government. They don't even care how insensitive, irrational they've become.
we should be happy that people are coming forward to discuss their mental illnesses in open and trying to bring awareness in people just as it is done for any physical illness. Deepika padukone and Shaheen Bhatt should be appreciated for talking about their depression in open. The Bhatt family should also be appreciated for being understanding and supportive to their daughter at the time of her need.

I come from a Mental Health Institute, And I am sure no person has answers for another person's questions. He is trying to sound well informed, but he himself isn't aware of what he is conveying here. Lots of insecurities, and a difficulty to accept his daughters' depression. Long way to go Man.. I am a doctor of 69 years of age. I myself is a case of Bipolar Disorder and know the sufferings it causes. A lot of people used to tell me bullshits like "positive frame of mind" and "to create strong will power". I told them could they control Diabetes with will power? Earlier these comment used to make my condition worse. But now I learnt to ignore them. Mr Bhatt, I fully understand what you are going through. And luckily you have a good supportive family. So please don't lose your heart
I’ve had depression for 6 months each on 3 different occasions. Couldn’t work. I’m pretty good now. I’ve pivoted in my career and am happy as a Data Scientist. Buddhist Vipassana and Shamtha meditation helps a lot. Although, things got worse before they got better.
My mother and immediate family is the only people who I really trust now with my life as they are the only ones who helped me in those tough times.

depression can be uncontrollable by themselves. there are many in the world of the same nature. no reasons are needed for depression. nobody understands it unless experiencing it themselves. it is a tragic and pathetic mindset encapsulated with no clarity with in. tempted to buy time consciously as an option beyond decisions. this "space with in time of uncertainty" preferably should not be dealt alone. unfortunately there are no qualified counselors to console.
6:52 apparently the mother father ignored Shaheen early depressive stages as teenage problems. It was only when she attempted suicide they got serious. It was only Shaheen 's friend of same young age who comforted her. And alia dear never cared about her sister ( remember her apology letter) . She was on her own beautiful word. They can't discuss depression effectively in this platform too, passing vague comments. And alia once said they chat with each other on whatsapp because chatting in person is so embarrassing . If this is Shaheen book launch can't they let her talk for once and take backside. Ugh

From my experience, depression seems to be a lack of spirituality. When we don't do what we are supposed to do, we feel depressed. We should be thinking what exactly is it that we are supposed to be doing and we aren't doing that. We should connect more and more with our creator( close your eyes and talk to the Almighty who you have never seen) . Trust me. HE knows you and your situation more than anybody ever can.
I'm sorry i don't agree with that my grandfather had depression because of family tensions besides he was a very spiritual person and his last words were gods names and he was doing everything he was suppose to do he was a very sophisticated person, very up on his toes everyday.. I don't think spirituality has anything to do with mental health. Does spirituality give you hope during dark times ? Yes, definitely but you can't pin point and say a person isn't 'spiritual enough' for going through mental health issues honey. It's not that easy. I respect your opinion.

Moreover, we may think all our life we are spiritual enough and we might be wrong. We might need to explore the areas we haven't explored. We might need to think a bit differently. Spirituality doesn't just means taking God's name all the time. It means a lot more than that. Your grandfather was depressed due to family tensions. He atleast knew why he was depressed. If there is a reason already then I don't think we can blame his brain alone for that. You must be knowing more though. When people are very spiritual, they just don't care about worldly tensions as they take that as an opportunity to gain in hereafter. Not judging him or any depressed person here. Not stating either that depressed people aren't trying to be spiritual. All I mean is that this might be a hint for them to do certain things more. Nevertheless, I am not stating any facts. These are just my opinion which can be right or can be wrong.
Depression is nothing! It’s just a modern problem. Mankind was too busy in the past procuring livelihood. Now that we have ample time in our hands, we start thinking all kinds of things and become depressed. But then it’s also a fact that we don’t know what to keep ourselves busy with. We don’t know what work to do etc. one just has to meditate, quieten the mind and do what comes naturally. Modern world has fucked up everything and now we don’t know what to do in life...especially for women. We have to stop listening to what the world says we should do and do what nature intends one to do. You cannot “think” what to do because mind is full of brainwashed ideas. You do what you naturally like doing...no matter how stupid you think it is. In nature nobody asks what to do? The fish just swims, the bird just flies. Ou ancestors didn’t ask these questions. They lived in nature and nature assigns roles to everyone. Male role is different and female role is different. But modern world has brainwashed us into thinking that men and women are same.
