This is probably the best video that explains the UI and basics to get started. It is refreshing to find such a video. I’ve watched a lot of the Affinity Photo tutorials from your channel and just recently got the iPad version for Affinity Designer. Love your tutorials. Thank you very much! 👍😁
Thank you! Coming from Adobe software, a lot of things in Affinity are similar. Despite that, some things are a little different, which is where you're helping me a lot!
This was SO GOOD. Just the right pace, lots of visual help, a large pointer ... Why do so many people put out stuff that it is impossible to follow or understand? Thanks. Just one thing ... how do I copy the colour from one shape to another?
I have made the switch from Adobe Prison to Affinity into freedom. Great introductory for Affinity Designer. One thing I like to point out is, I wouldn't remove the color swatches. I used to do that as well as first thing with any designer app. I now know how much they integrate with a designer workflow because you don't need to make notes about color values etc. What I miss by default is that the Copic color swatches should be a standard. Anyway, great video. Thanks.
@jayedwin98020 Some software that can edit or create PDF don't use all its proprietary features or are 'flattened'. So you need (mostly) paid applications to edit them like Acrobat Pro. Affinity does a decent job, but not all PDF's can be edited. I recently had a PDF from MS Visio where all text's where just shapes. Affinity designer could analyze these text's and converted them partially to actual text objects that I could edit and then export to PDF again.
I hope you enjoyed the video! 😊 To help you remember everything, I made a PDF summary for you: affinityrevolution.ck.page/ad-top-10
I wish all video tutorials were like this - packed more comprehensible information into 16minutes than some deliver in an hour. Major thumbs up!
Thank you so much! 🤗

line drawings create vector files for fiber, laser, as well as diode lasers. Those can be in .svg or .PNG files.
I'm curious. Why is .png a better file choice than .jpg or .pdf?
PNG has transparency and less compression artefacts then JPG. PDF is not always usable in other software.
@@TonyvanLoon: If you wouldn't mind, could you tell me which software where .pdf files are not usable?
