Some pretty boys driving a Porsche and bolting on basic parts.. That's not a Jeep "build" and you used a JK click bait picture.
Jeep fiat you know its true
So, you gouged "one of your best friends" for a 4K profit on a mall crawler?
I hope to see this jeep driving around Washington.
That guy probably could have just parted out this jeep for 5k. Plus if you show up to my house in a Porsche and try low balling me on an 01 TJ I'm telling you to take a hike.
Tim C lol was thinking the same thing
Wish I could find a jeep in that shape for 5k. Everything i'm finding is a lot worse and in the 9k range. Damn soccer moms have driven the price way up even on older models.
If it has a clean title youd be losing money on the partout. id have sold the aftermarket junk and replaced it with stock stuff. youd get 7-8k or more for it easy
This is why you buy from the needy NOT the greedy.
Yeah I felt the same way too. Speaking the truth m’dude
"When you go of-roading you have to upgrade the lights"? This is just my guess but 95% of off-roading is done during the day. The lights would be one of the last things you need for off-roading.
most people that put light bars on off-roading vehicles never take the vehicle off a paved road anyways
Mike Brown kind of not true. Not sure about TJ but in my JK my stock headlights are crap, even high beams. I go off road during winter for a day trip, we will finish up as the sun sets and I’ll still have a 2 hour drive home on Australian interstate roads in the dark and without light upgrades sucks
Gimmick grill, Rockstar wheels, light bar & halos...ultimate Mallcrawler starter kit! Just screams, "I'm not a real Jeep guy, just jumped on the bandwagon"
dwizl7213 ew Rockstar XD wheels... that’s when I knew shit was goin south before the intro of that grill 😕
Don't forget the full size spare! Nah, just get a cheap cover to hide that...
😘
Every Jeep Wrangler that I see has nothing but accessories, especially the JKs. Go to a Jeep Meet. Let people do what they want with their Jeeps. I am a person that does what I want with MY Jeep and I do not care if you like it or not. So called Jeep enthusiast are sooooo judgemental. Chill out!
@@yvetteblount9232 absolutely. My tj has seen the last of it's wheeling days for a while. WI winters have not been kind to it. Right now it is just a fun audio project that has gotten out of control. But it's my jeep and this is just another way to enjoy it while waiting to do major repairs. Funny when people call it a mall crawler. They have no idea where it has been or what it has done. Haters gonna hate. Guess they need to feel superior for some reason.
"Aftermarket Parts Plague Jeeps", proceeds to install a dozen chinese knockoff parts from Ebay
FantaSea Horse that's what i was thinking
He meant that for the engine parts if i am not wrong.🤔
Amazon*
FantaSea Horse right, he totally screwed that’s Jeep over. Should of kept it classic looking.
eddy he can build what he wants
not even the TJ's are safe from angry eyes now....
thegutterpunk00 I think JK and JKU look nice with the angry eyes but not TJs
Ik theyre so gay
so gay
not even JKs.
I would have left the original grill on it as well.
I was digging the video until the angry eyes grill. Seriously? Those things look so dumb. I would expect that crap on a JK, but putting one of those on a TJ should be a crime.
Ikr, I'm used to seeing JK's with those things. Some of them extend like a foot away from the actual grill. The TJ is the only "modern" wrangler that I like, and damn do those faces ruin them(at least for me). I don't even have a TJ, I have an MJ, and I still can't handle those things.
Thats what I was thinking.
@@warren9962 . I own a JK and I don't like them also.
Angry eyes are totally over played. YJ, TJ, & JK owner.
Pls as detailed as can possibly can explain how they look dumb
Why did they check the rust after buying the jeep?
because they're dumb and don't know that jeeps are known for rusting
What do you expect they put an angry eyes grill on it
i just want to say that i’m just a guy with a jeep and mine still isn’t even close to being $5k we got it for $2,700 and put maybe $1,500 into fixing it and it’s a dream.
A different spare isnt a red flag what the hell
Complained about the spare yet kept it the same
Exactly. I mean it’s an 01. A lot of things he said is to be expected.
The spare isn't the same. These guys are jeep geniuses.
I see that profile picture EVEYWHERE
More amusing is the fact they didn't even change it out either.
was going good till you put the angry eyes grill on
why?
canofbeans They’re so fuckin tacky man
Yeah real smart. Install blinkers that shut off the headlights in the direction you are turning. Brilliant.
Robert Hull thats how all the newer led headlights come stock from the dealer. not that dangerous or it wouldn’t be legal
@@ChaseSprouse which stock vehicle comes with headlights that turn off when the blinker is on? I really don't think there are any. It's an extremely stupid design.
@iTheGeek nope. They turn off the day time running lamps. Not the headlights when it's dark out. This one turns the headlights off at night. You should be sure of what you're talking about before you try to sound smart.
@iTheGeek yeah. On this design. Not on production cars in the dark. Show me. There are no cars that shut their headlights off when turning at night.
@@rhull3939 Some say he's still looking for one to show you....
As a 20 year old my dad and I grew up working on Jeeps and I couldn’t have asked for a better way to learn how to do my own maintenance and just father son bonding time. An excellent project for a high school kid plus it helps being the cool kid with a Jeep :)
Cool build but the grille cover needs to be removed
Thx for the support! Would you just keep it stock or is there another cover you'd replace it with? This was my first Jeep and trying to learn more about what people like doing to these great rigs!
When I first got my TJ it had a chrome grille overlay that covered the whole grille. Needless to say, that and the side steps were the first things I took off!
And as for the grille cover, the angry face cover thing is just so tacky now
You could have also just plasti dipped the headlights at an angle to give it the angry look. And not bought the grill.
I know the grill covers are tacky now and in my opinion just plain ugly
I want my 23 minutes and 25 seconds back.
Who else stopped watching when they introduced the angry grille ?
Went from limited edition grille to a plain one

$11,650 lowkey scammed 😂😂😂😂
and to a "good friend"... damn with friends like that i tell ya...
not a scam they have to make profit and he made the price and that’s a good price for a jeep like that that had no problems
@@offroaddegenerates3634 yeah sure they have to profit. but that was an obvious scam.
Jay Kwod he showed up in a Porsche
@@shoopdawooplazars Nah, TJ's in good condition are very tough to find. That tends to be the average price for one that's not torn up.
If you would have engaged the 4x4 on that dodge, you probably wouldnt have needed to get your knees dirty.
I _JUST_ got to this part of the video and this made me cringe. Fake staged incident.
Yeah that was dumb
@@gravitywell3315 Same
It wasnt even stuck.. if u notice when they hook the strap up the dodge actually drives itself out before the strap is tight... it's a shame, that WAS a nice jeep that old man had.
Light bar before lockers, poor Jeep may never see the dirt again.
also strictly pavement tires. new tires have no meat or sidewalls.
Yeah....I was thinking it should have rock sliders, upgraded gas tank skid plate, ARB or OX lockers .... etc.... so many things about this make this anything BUT a real Jeep build. That tire cover they put on there.... that is trouble. Means they don't have a full-size spare.
ViolentLotus that’s why I’m happy my LJ was a rubicon and it came with lockers
Idk man i would buy a cheap 20$ ebay light bar before I buy a $1000 air locker
Wow... good job, ya'll not only did nothing to the Jeep, you installed the headlights the most complicated way possible and screwed over a buddy. Great job. That Jeeps not ever worth what he paid. I feel bad for him.
How is not worth $5k? I can’t even find a used Jeep around here for that low price. I’m genuinely asking.
@@shookqueens7081 I am talking about how much they sold it to their buddy. They sold it for like $10k or something close to that. That's Jeeps not even remotely worth it.
they didn't even wire the headlights correctly. Last time I checked the headlights should stay on when the blinker is going
The Harness they used was a Autodrive Harness and it's actually a really nice harness, I use the same one on my F250, Light bar in the front and I used 2 4" LED pods for the rear and spliced the wires together for the 2nd plug on the harness. It's really a great harness at a very reasonable price.
“We’re glad this Jeep went to a good friend of ours”
“We ended up making over $4,000 on this build”
lol I’d hate to know how much you’d sell that to a not so good “friend”
You’re in business to make money right?
NIGGA-SPOCK that’s the right capitalistic mindset! Let’s not help others out, even those close to us, to squeeze as much profit out of something as we can. It’s worked great so far!
@@jacchevr they gotta be compensated for time invested.
@@01hondascott this "build" is a borderline afternoon job. Lets not act like this was 100 hours of work.

How to build a Ebay mall Krawler 101.
OH NO! the rear tire doesn't mach!!!! junk it.
First time looking at a Jeep :) Learning that a mismatched 5th wheel isn't a bid deal. Such an awesome rig and can't wait to get my hands on a second one!

@@IdealMediaChannel I hope you never get your hands on another jeep again until looking at real off roading jeep builds and not the builds used just for show like the one you made
Just buying a 2000 TJ Sahara, my first Jeep. I stumbled across this video and appreciate how easy you show it is to work on some basic things, like showing how to do some basic stuff so many other people gloss over - like removing the cowling. Thank you.
So the 4x4 on the truck is just a sticker. This entire video is a joke
I'm not the only one who saw that 😂 smdh
it's a dodge dakota, it's a 4x4, they just staged it for video purposes
Did no one else notice that the ram that was "stuck" was in 2wd when it had a 4x4 decal on it
right away
I gotta say, this video was so easy to watch. Keep up the video style you guys are using, and awesome Jeep!
I picked up a '98 Jeep Grand Cherokee almost 2 years ago. It ran, but needed a lot of work. I'm retired so didn't mind making a project of rehabbing it. Now I have an awesome vehicle; I went car camping last weekend and sleep in the back very comfortably. And here in the Rockies, a 4-wheel vehicle is the standard gear to have.
“If you’re gonna go off road, you’re gonna need to upgrade the lights.” Lights before lockers.
Jeeps are a ton of fun to work on and build! My first job out of highschool was working at a wheel, tire & suspension shop for trucks and jeeps. When people take care of them and don’t let rust and mud build up they’re super easy/ fun to work on!
You guys screwed your friend over with that price.
Totally
@@jasonallen6836 I mean... They didn't say he was a good friend, lol.
@@coldsnap4467 oh, well then... I am now elated. :)
What’s the normal price to buy one of these??
@@captaindoom1 6500-9500? Depending on condition, extras etc...
We have owned several different Jeeps down through the years. Back in 1985 my wife and I owned matching Jeep J-10 pickups and she also owned a Jeep Grand Wagoneer. In 1990 she traded in her 84 Wagoneer and bought the last year they made them, in 1991. She still owns it! :)
That's an awesome price. Even considering the red flags.
Thats what I thought. I could tell the guy was desperate to sell and I was in the right place at the right time. Jeeps are AWESOME! Totally wish we didn't have to sell it so fast. But I'm sure there will be another one in my life at some point :)
I payed more for my 4 banger ): found out later i live in yhe second most expensive part of the country in terms of jeeps
I think the angry eye grill cover looks cool. It doesn’t matter what other people say, it’s your car so if you like it, go for it. Nice vid
A jeep in Washington with that little corrosion is simply amazing, what a deal!
A needle in a haystack! The fact that this one hadn't been beat on was a huge +! I can't wait to get my hands on another one!
Corrosion in Washington? Lol why would there be any corrosion there? Come to NE Ohio. I'll show you corrosion.

Whats the gearing? Nevermind, probably fine for the mall parking lot.

You’d never find a $5K Jeep in Texas that is in that good of shape.

Thanks for the Jeep video guys! I just started working for a Used Jeep dealership here in South Carolina and really needed some pointers to help me start selling them and videoing them ha ha!
OMG THE SPARE DOESN'T MATCH!?!?!?! Almost every tj on the road...
This was actually so informative. I'm 16 and about to buy my first jeep this has so many useful tips.
Perfect first car! Thx for watching and appreciate the support!
So... if you are really interested in jeeps, get on fb and look for a jeep group in your area. All these guys did was put lipstick on it to flip it. Not a jeep build.
The truck that was “stuck” wasn’t stuck you just needed to put it in 4wd and before any one says but what if it doesn’t have 4wd look at the side of the truck.
Agreed! The truck is his beater and the 4wd doesn't work. Now he off roads in the Jeep! haha
Ideal Cars oh well then that makes senses
I absolutely am in love with my “93 YJ. Now that I’m pushing 50 I day dream of the winter comforts of Raptor at the end of the day I just want to enhance my Jeep. My girl June. I love her.
You guys should of added an inverter in there for an outlet, an air pump, 200 amp alternator, changed the interior LEDs, CB radio, a pa system, new speakers, a 4 inch long arm or short arm lift with hydro shocks, and a water tank in the back. Btw you guys got ripped off on the tail lights you can build your own for 15 dollars it's just the wiring of an 1157 bulb not to hard.
Great vid. Simple and entertaining. I just got back yesterday from a trip that covered Portland and Seattle and you have a ton of trails for jeeps. Oh great buy, 5k is a gift! Desperate sellers are the best to deal with.
Yeah there are some great trails up here in the PNW! As far as buying the Jeep, I just ended up being in the right place at the right time. I just now need to find another one! Because this one was SOO much fun! Thx for the support!
Outstanding video/edits from a fellow Jeep enthusiast (and Porsche for that matter too). Keep the content coming. Quick question: What brand/size of wheels/tires did you go with on the Jeep?
Thank you! Jeeps and Porsches... what could be better?!? We threw on Goodyear Wrangler All-Terrain 33.5" x 12.5" on 18" wheels.
Instead of buying a Jeep someone else built this inspired me to build my own! Thank you
That Jeep is worth 7k nothing more
Natsuki Harvey Not in Louisiana. A fucked up one costs $6k this one is easily worth $11k here
First of all when he tried to get the truck unstuck he was in 2wd and then when he pulled him out there was no tension on the strap?
Btw the suburban is the first real SUV definitely not any jeep because its not even an SUV
I'm pretty sure the first real SUV was the toyota 4runner back in the 80s, when a company in Minnesota started converting Tacomas into the precursor of the 4runner.
Also Jeep Wagoneer/Cherokee, Ford Bronco, Toyota Landcruiser/4runner. Lol Suburban that's funny.
Actually in the 40s chevy started putting wagon bodies on truck frames and that was the suburban the first true SUV to use the name SUV
@@StraitClownin909 not exactly

After doing this build I've learned people either love or hate the angry bird type grill. I'm still learning, so is there a grill that most people like? Or is stock best?
Ideal Cars honestly if you like it that's all that matters.
Ideal Cars Stock! It’s iconic.
@@IdealMediaChannel I think angry bird is a passed fad. When I first saw them, I thought they were cool, but wouldn't have one now.

Next time put the 4X4 dodge in 4wheel drive and not wait 2 hours for rescue...next time use the winch you just fixed, that's what it's for......noobs

i've been here since day one and i have loved your channel ever since, i love to see your channel grow.
Removing the carpet wasn't worth it, a complete set of carpet in a Tj is really valuable and it keeps the tub from getting too hot when driving. i would've rhino lined and then put it back.
Drew Lotz Completely agree...I've got an '01 Sport and the po ripped out the carpet and lined it. The driver's side floorboard is insanely hot. I just picked up a full used carpet setup for thirty bucks. Gonna install it next weekend. I expect a decent heat and noise reduction. Fingers crossed...
slayerwatcher what are you talking about? I’ve owned 3 Tjs and my current 99 has had the carpet removed along with the other two. Absolutely no issues here
Thumbs up, just for the tip about using marine connectors, covered in heat shrink. I've never thought of doing that.

I call my 2018 Cherokee Limited a car. And it's a damn nice car. "It's A Jeep Thing"
Oh...angry eye grill...
So you're one of THOSE people.
What this good ol' TJ needed was lockers, rock sliders, fenders, and a stinger.
Keep the original grill
Well reading the comments I noticed that people hate the way the front grill looks, and you reply asking what people usually like. This is your jeep and as far as you like it you dont need people to love it as everyone has his own opinion and you will never be able to make everyone happy.
Good luck on your build.

Wranglers are the ricer's of the off-road community.
I have one... that being said I wholeheartedly agree with you. I'm gonna try to keep mine out of that category.
@@92powerdiesel61 I don't hate all Wranglers. Just the new ones that cost 20k+ and that some people who own them think that they are the best off road vehicle. I myself would not spend 20k on a vehicle to abuse it off road because 20k is a lot of money
I'm just say'in where i'm from (AZ) rarely are there people that actually off road them all they do is get lights a $5,000 lift 35 in tires. Then their dumb asses say "oh it's so slow", they don't even regear. If I had that type of money for my TJ, I would already have put a v8 in there myself.
@@92powerdiesel61 Haha true. I have an XJ that is naturally slow. Adding a lift and heavier, but bigger tires doesn't help the speed of the vehicle, and could cause damage if they don't regear
