Sweet setup! Been on over a year hiatus from flying but all of my rigs are of course Apex/Kiss/Fetec/TBS... you know, the right stuff... so I will have the need now to get back in as part of my journey and need to get re-informed as to what new rigs I will need. So of course I came here looking for good info and you never disappoint Steele! Thanks for your consistency! Can't wait to get building and flying again!
I planned to do exactly the same with VTX. HDzero for freestyle. And O3 for exploring and cinematics.

hi, thanks for sharing yuor pids I converted one of my betaflight quads an ApexDC to fettec (just the FC) and it flies marvelous... no hot motors and very consistent!!
Man I really appreciate you doing this for us! I hope there is a plan to release similar pids/configuration for your analog freestyle quad, which I like ver much and fly exclusively and will continue to fly till the last CCD sensor available on this planet.

i have question. installed dji o3 on my kiss ultra v1. and didn't get battery osd. always in zero, i put bec on it and nothing works, tried pads and port . still no battery voltage in osd. is there any option to get osd ?

I like that frame too but I dont like how the top part of the frame is curved and so battery straps don't sit evenly, do you have a solution??
I like alternating straps. Seems logical for me that this is a superior mount compared to 2 straps in same direction...

Any reason you went with 50V caps instead of 35V (what most people do I think?). I've gone back and forth and haven't found the 50V to be better but maybe you've found something I never noticed. Happy to see a technical quad breakdown vid from you again 😄

This DJI action cam seems to be great for light build.
I too fought with alpha fw. Very interesting indeed
I haven't bothered much with my other betaflight freestyle quads since building an AOS5 with that T-Motor G4 fettec firmware fc with matching 60A dshot2400 esc. It just flies a lot more predictable and I find myself banging into less things even with a 60fps polar camera. I might actually get the new AOS motors for this build. Yum. EDIT: surprised you haven't slapped the CNC gimbals in that mambo yet, theyr'e gold in the tango 2.
I didn't think freestyle could be so fast and aggressive with the O3 unit (but that is also because you use DJI Goggles V2 and not Goggles 2?). I actually wanted to run HDzero and O3 in parallel. Maybe I'll buy the O3 first and compare it with analogue. If the latency is too negative for me, I'll buy HDzero too...
Latency is only in your mind. Once you get the feel for 03’s you won’t feel it anymore

Hi Steele, Any thoughts on the 45A Fettec esc vs the new 65A? Do you think the 45A is adequate for 6S freestyle and some occasional flights with a GoPro Hero?
There is a difference i have both but cant see any reason to use more money for the same job it's like there are more punch and response in the 45a and the 65 is more flat/dead ❤

Yes the radio switches are setup correctly and yes they show up as working on the KISS GUI.

I just flashed the esc from kiss to alpha and now when I arm the drone and give a little bit of throttle the drone takes off like a bayblade. Any idea what's wrong?

What’s the exact fettec ESC settings. I always get caught up in the FW for the FC pids/rates etc. but never ask the ESC settings both fettec and non. TIA.

Is there a reason why alpha is so hard to tune? If Steele couldn't tune it, then how does anyone else have a chance of getting a decent tune?
I was able to get a decent tune on the old gyro. But the new gyro seemed to be more sensitive to different builds. So with the help of Brian we got it dialed You can use these numbers as a baseline for a 5” build. Should be good 👍🏼
It’s no harder to tune than anything. It’s just new and different and when any firmware was new and different it was considered “hard”. My first stab at it, it felt completely foreign. The new Apex tune posted here should be a great starting point for virtually any 5inch. And now people have the option to really fine tune it with PIDtoolbox if they wanna go that route. It’s great that Felix opened it up this way. Now we can see exactly what’s going on and the possibilities are limitless. It’s great firmware and with the apex HD it’s at the top of its game

is FETTEC ALPHA the new kiss?
This is what I'm wondering as well because I was just convinced to try building a KISS quad.
Felix (the creator of KISS) left kiss and created a different company no tied to the distributer “flyduino” And his new company is Fettec. And they were still linked for a few years but now Fettec alpha is the Fettec specific FC firmware.
I have always flown Felix’s gear. He’s the OG mastermind
