I always loved this show as a kid. I loved how everybody seemed like such good friends. I loved jodi the most she always seemed so paitent and had a a calm and kind demeanour. I also loved her pink jumpsuit I wanted one just like it. They don’t make good shows like this for kids anymore.
Thank you very much for posting these episodes of Today's Special. Last time I watched one, I must've been 6 years old. I hope the original masters of this show were kept by TVO and not thrown out. There was a lot of great programming on TVO and PBS back when I was a child, it would be nice to have these shows aired again for kids of today.
loved this, this was my favorite show. I loved the episode where the store was gonna get shut down and they found the plaque showing it was a historic sight and it saved the building and Muffy got her big house makeover and the most heartbreaking moment of my favorite show when Hazel the butterfly died. Lord my heart broke
I heard about this show reading a magazine. Prior to that I had never heard of it. It sounded interesting and thought that I'd look it up. From what I understand it lasted several seasons and had a good following. I would've loved to watch this when I was coming up. It seems educating and wholesome.
One of my favourite shows as a child. Wish they had it on Netflix so my kids can watch it. Todays Special, polkadot door and mister dress up was all i watched.
I remember this along with Picture Page, Pinwheel, The Elephant Show, David and the Nomes etc! You Can't Do That On Television, Mr Wizzard 3 2 1 Contact damn I can go on forever!!
I like the baby Big Bird and Oscar in the background. I believe this was long before Sesame Beginnings, so I guess SS babies have been in merchandise for quite some time.
Very sporting of the set dresser to display Sesame Street toys in the department. But with this show Canadian and Sesame Street American, I guess they were more cousins than rivals.
17:34 The JB button he pressed activated Justin Bieber to be born years later. The jellybeans falling were merely from some stagehand with a real sweet tooth for them who was hiding in the ceiling.
Which Today's Special episode is the one where Jodie reads a story to Muffy, the 3 words Give Me Food continuously are seen and tickles her?Any help will be greatly appreciated, thanks.
That quiz at 22:52 was completely unneccesary!! We have seen the Max-Vac 2000 throughout the episode to know what it looks like!! In fact some of the quizzes I think are meant for 2 yr olds!!! If adults like us loved this show as children, I think we could do without the quizzes and continue with the story leaving out the quizzes!!!
At 5:23, when Max said about the store manager, I'm sure it was a better store manager than Crandall J. Crummington III who was the new store manager in the episode titled "Sam And The Robot."
We never know!! The manager of the store could have been Crandall J. Crummington III throughout the series from Season 1-7. We just don't see him until "Sam and The Robot"!
@@Anonymous-qg9xx Probably if Crandall J. Crummington was the store manager in this episode titled "Trash", then Jodie would have been wearing the picture of him in the back of her clothes since in "Sam And The Robot", she mentioned that he required her to have a uniform with his picture in the back and Sam would have been fired earlier since Crummington fired him on "Sam And The Robot" for not being a strong security guard. Also if Crummington was the store manager here on this "Trash" episode, there would have been pictures of him throughout the store because in the beginning of the "Sam And The Robot" episode, Jeff said "I can't believe all these pictures of the new night manager, they're on every floor" which kind of showed that, that was the first episode Crummington was on like there was an old night manager during this "Trash" episode.
Trash was a topic?? Seriously?? lol um, kay. PS, soooooo Muffy made Jeff come alive? PPS, Jodie hangout in the store at night, so she slept all day? Did she EVER get a bf? PPPS, I really forgot Muffy rhymed all the time. PPPPS, that Sam character freaks me the f*ck out :/ PPPPPS, the store manger told the janitor about Jeff the mannequin?? One more thing, when I was little, I use to want a playhouse like Muffy :) Oooooone more thing, there was a mime lady on the show :/ (Oh & Jodie looks like my old Kindergarden teacher :) Well, time to finish my Smirnoff. It's been real y'all!
This episode was kind of boring. Seriously? Using a vacuum cleaner as a microphone was kind of silly. However, I had always wanted to hear Sam recite the magic words when Jeff lost his hat. This is the only episode where he does and Schumin didn't even notice. Haha. Usually, it was Jodie or Muffy saying the magic words.

I could imagine the cast going out together after filming an episode!

of magic, dance and song! Ran for almost
a decade on Nickelodeon! 😊😊😊😊😊😊
It's amazing how almost 30 yrs can pass and you can remember shows like it was yesterday. I didn't realize how hot Jodie was back then;)

The episode of the store closing is called "Our Story"

Love this show used to watch it and it bring good memories back
Andrea Castillo Me too loved this show

This is what shows should be like today, instead of CG crap

"Today's special is . . . trash!" 🤣 LOL sorry

Me too! 😅
He just reminded me of Gene Wilder.

why can't TVO just re-air all these old shows?
Postmyshit Yadamprogram I know right
Out with the old and in with the new
or stream them.
A much simpler time I remember watching this show as a kid.
This is far better than that Japanese animation trash Nickelodeon had that was used to replace it back in the dirty 1990s.
I agree
I think I must have seen every episode at least four times!
I used to watch this all the time I loved IT
Virgo Starr me too! What happened to it? I have missed it. Some of today stuff not as good
Loved this... couldn't wait till 2:00 when it was on Nickelodean
Who knew Max inverted karaoke?
If that ticket was that important to her she would have kept it with her and not left it laying around what an idiot.
I know. That’s what I thought as kid. Put it in a desk at least.
I like the baby Big Bird and Oscar in the background. I believe this was long before Sesame Beginnings, so I guess SS babies have been in merchandise for quite some time.
Daffyfan2006 Todays Special ran from September 1, 1981- July 1, 1987
Valdy is an amazing human being! I was just talking to him yesterday. :)
Valdemer Horsdal!!
After hearing this guy the guy who vaccumed her ticket did her a favor
I wish they would release this on DVD along with Zoobilee Zoo..

When Toronto was beautiful
Muffy mouse is my hero 🐀
I used to watch this show religiously! I think I've
At 26:10, Jodie's eyes look like she is going to cry. Or she's in love.
Sam drops the f-bomb at 18:39
Hehe
9 yrs late.... Uh...he says Fountain....not the F word......this is a kids show!!!
Love the intro music!
Anyone else used to sing into a vacuum cleaner?
Mark Radell, her real name is Nerene Virgin
I wonder if the final episode of today’s special is still exist
Memories is the final episode...its you tube
my favorite episode was Phil's visit
I somehow haven't seen that episode. I hope I can see its entirety someday
WTF is wrong with Sam's hair when he loses his hat? It looks like a shower cap.
thanks for sharing

Remember the show but forgot the name but found it thanks to Google
It is available on DVD. It was from the 80's. Sesame Street was before this.
Can't find episode called police 1983 season Wanted to share it with my son.
Uggh. Cops are not our friends.
28:12 I always thought 💭 that was Jeff Hyslop humming in the background
Wouldn't it be funny, if Sam the felt pen Sam found in the trash was actually a syringe?
I know, this is a kids show and it wouldn't be appropriate!
Hooray!!!!
The singer sounds a little like Burl Ives.
@@RhiannaBarr Paul Valdemar Horsdal.....Valdy(Valdemar) Horsdal........
Muffy could have had a special moment with that vacuum cleaner lol.
"Ooooh Maxxxx, power up that vacssssss!"
Actually that would probably be painful

Well, now we know where The Suite Life ripped off their idea for Arwin.
25:10 - Awesome. That's all I'm saying.
Nooo, not the hat!
yeah i used to watch this too, always had crush on that black lady ehhehe
"Another evening @ the abandoned acme-market on route-61 in shamokin land of messopotamia northumberland-county ioml"
She sort of looks like Cam from Bones LOL I had to double check on IMDB to make sure it wasn't her
Another hat "took off" or vacuumed, I must say @ 9:55.

don't think manager knew; only Waldo, Sam, Muffy, jodie knew
Waldo, Sam, Jeff, Jodie, Muffy, and eventually Mrs Pennypacker knew.
I don't think it'd be wise to tell the manager about a talking mannequin. Who knows what would happened to Jeff after!
he knew about the talking mouse... his sister brings it up in ice cfream
Max is such a Jerk!!!
