In a sense, our Ghosts are the equivalent to the "is the jar full?" problem. We can fill the jar with rice and think it's full (aka, The Light)… But in reality, it has further potential and can be filled even more with water all the way to the brim (aka The Darkness).
I often wonder why we haven't got with Drifter about this. He has a ghost that can access the Dark, he can control Taken, shorta. It's a missed opportunity by far
I’m glad I’m not the only one who’s bothered by the underutilization of the Drifter. Lore-wise and even in-game, he’s one of the most interesting characters, yet he barely gets anything to do.
I wish ghosts were made as copies of the minds from those who merged to become the witness BEFORE they became obsessed with the “final shape.” Could’ve tied it into how and why the witness can link with the ghost since essentially they’d be the same in a way. Also adds to why each ghost has their own personality.
Judging by the trailer, I reckon us and our ghost will learn to transcend the need for light, or at least a direct connection to the traveler in order to be revived. It was practically the same with Beyond Light. We used the darkness with the crux, but then we learnt to find it deep within us, in order to use it.
So, we’re drawing out The Witness’s forces, emptying its strongholds. Then, when Riven gives us the wish, we gather our full strength and march on the Pale Heart. Now, The Witness is blind to all else that moves.
The funny thing is about Destiny drifter is giving away the entire story he has been, since he has been introduced. People just don’t play that game mode but if you pay attention and you listen to his character talk, he will tell you everything. Same with Crow don’t leave those sprites in the game for nothing. Spider probably as well
Ghost can use the Light and Darkness, only recently discovering it can access the latter. Is a Ghost the Final Shape that the Traveller discovered while running from the Witness. So by proxy the Guardian who can access the Light and Darkness with the freedom to make their own Destiny is the true Final Shape.

For the Witness it's calcifying reality in a single moment in time, then carved up to fit it's avant-garde style. For the Hive, one ultimate victor after killing everything. All the Disciples had their own interpretation and weren't corrected by the Witness, which seems to point to the idea that the Final Shape is in flux until it's actually realized.

It's likely the Witness began being able to link to our Ghost after our Guardian's first contact with the Pyramid on the moon during Shadowkeep as that too was our Ghost's first contact with the emissaries of darkness themselves. The connection our Ghost had with the Witness only grew as our Guardian further developed their Darkness abilities. Of course the Pyramid in the moon only began to resonate and react after the Traveler awakened which had also awoken the rest Pyramids that seems to have been dormant for a time as well and the Witness began their approach since then.
I wonder, the Witness being absent could be a reason on why the WR dungeon takes place, as the Scorn are finally getting back their sentience after being slaves for so long
I’m a big fan of ghost shells with special eyes so if a shell with a darkness eye similar to the pyramid ghost shell from tfs pre order comes out I’ll go through hell and back for it.
Since the next dlc is called the final shape. I feel like this season we're going to set everything up for how to get in there and in the final shape we actually go on

I kinda hate how they’ve been trying to write Light and Dark as the same thing but also make distinctions between them, failing to simply say, “Light and Dark are varying frequencies of Paracausality brought on by different behaviors”. It’s always convoluted lore books and stupidly complex writing to say something so simple.

The Traveller has a physical space because Light is the power of the physical. We already have something similar to what you are saying with the Veil. Since Darkness is the power of thought then a dreamscape would make more sense, and we kind of have that with the virtual world that the Neomunans use that's powered by the Veil
To simplify things, the only power opposing The Witness are guardians, on verge of collapse, stranded in one small city on Earth and Neomuna, and The Witness can cut things with one wave of a finger, has gone into the Traveler leaving guardians find a way to stop him without any intel. Why he didn't kill all before going inside the Traveler ? Like if he left vex and cabal stop us, it's been 10 years of proof those foes are as good as trash to do this job. It us a common movie villain that has ultimate powers yet does everything to lose. Awesome.....

The Ghosts are like a relay for paracasual powers. The Ghosts are able relay the Light to us from The Traveller, but The Witness is also able to relay through the Ghosts, but only when they are near a Pyramid or a Paracasual force such as The Veil. But Ghosts aren't the only things that can provide Paracasual power, we have also got that directly from the Pyramids, so does this imply that Pyramids and Ghosts are much more similar than we think?

I don't know if the lore categorically states the Traveler created the Ghosts, but...I have a theory that the Ghost predated the collapse...by several million years. AKA...the race that predated the Witness created the Ghosts. They all had their own Ghosts prior to merging into the Witness. That's why the Witness can tap into them.
Your videos are great, but when recording audio you might want to ask your teammates not to be shooting off with her horn jumping around. It takes away from the storytelling

So what was stopping savathun from wishing that the witness could not commune/interact with the traveler?
Probably the same reason she decided to try and seal the Traveler in her throne World: Witness is too powerful for her.
