Jensen explained at a con that there was no mirror.. he did that scene a foot or two from the camera and had the crew experiencing wet eyes.

just when Dean yells sam's name on the phone , when he doesn't even remember his own name , that's so cute and lovely and it shows even in the worst situations , he never forgets his Brother , even if he forgets himself !
Jensen acting is always superb but that mirror scene hits hard. I knew someone with memory loss and in one short scene he just gives you a picture of a)what is like for that individual and b) what is like to be the person communicating with them. The way they shot that scene made it even more impactful. All the comic stuff was great and I always love an episode with Rowena. The end montage was cute but heart breaking all at the same time - to see Dean without all the weight on his shoulders, smiling and happy. May be just a monster of the week but it always an episode that I would list as one of my favourites.
In the middle of last year, I had five seizures, leading to 48 hours of full-blown dissociative psychosis. After I finally came out of it in the medical hospital, I spent a few days in a psych hospital and did a weeks-long psych program. After all of this, I have long-term amnesia. The first four months of last year just disappeared. It’s terrifying. To think that I could lose four months, including friends I made in that time, makes me think, “What if it had been a year I lost? Ten years? What if this happens again and I forget everyone I know and love?” It’s a horrifying experience.
@@unconcernedcitizen4092 I am so sorry you went through all that and still face the fear. I am lucky because I I have not had any memory loss but I know someone who had Alzheimer's. Seeing what they went through has definitely made me appreciate life, family and friends more and develop a slight obsession of taking photos to capture the good times. I hope your experience has made you stronger and you fight through the fear Take care.

Definitely best MOTW episode of the season imo. But I would choose a couple others ahead of this one that are plot related
This is one of the hardest episodes for me to watch. How it goes from humorous to downright sad and terrifying.

In my memories, I don't like season 12 that much. But either I have a twisted recollection of this season, or the part I didn't like is yet to come, because I thoroughly enjoy rewatching it here!
