Seeing that they have a mixed species enclosure. Did you know that AZA accredited zoos like this one will sometimes put their animals on contraception in order to limit the amount of births?
So cute! We met Kelly and Amelia both today! It was great talking to her about the giraffes (she’s super knowledgeable!) and Amelia has grown into the most precocious of the giraffes at the zoo! She’s very outgoing and was super engaged by the enrichment they were doing. It’s crazy to see her here just a few years ago at such a young timid age.
Boy, your sharp! How did you figure that out? Im a wildlife expert too but i can never tell the diff between retuculated and masai girrafes, ocelots and margays or burchells zebra and common zebra
It is girly day! New girl is Amelia.🦒She probably is around 10 feet tall (super tiny). They can start having some calves from her.The giraffes are going to love Amelia 💕
Zoos do an amazing conservation effort, sometimes those babies they nurture will be released into the wild if they have that supported agenda. It's an incredibly selfish thing to demand the release of those animals, because they've become so used to humans that they can be at risk for poachers and not having the necessary skills to survive in the wild.

A two-year old giraffe moves into the North Carolina Zoo. What was your favorite part of this video?

Yeah !!!! 4th view and first comment 😃😃😃😃
WOW IM THE SECOND COMMENT
Zoos should be illegal. Leave nature alone. Stop disturbing nature. Release those animals back in Africa.
Some zoos are good. Like zoos which help in endangered species conservation
Many zoos take in animals that were orphaned or hurt and can’t survive in wild nature. Don’t paint them all under the same brush.
If they were born and raised in captivity, it would be a horrible idea to release them into captivity.
