My mother-in-law, who was Greek, lived her last 11 years in assisted living in the Hebrew Centers in Brookline, MA. I always noticed that the entrance to the complex had a mezuzah, just like you described in this video! It was in a diagonal direction. My wife’s Mom always found opportunities to witness to her Jewess friends! In fact, one of the Jewish women was from the same city in “Asia Minor”, Magnesia, where her parents were born! My mother-in-law always referred to Turkey as “Asia Minor”! She passed away in December 2023 at the age of 101!

Me too! We've actually gotten to the point we don't watch live TV anymore at all. Even the movies I watch are family movies, basically kid movies. 😊
TV Shows I used to find funny are now lude and vulgar.
If Christ were here, adherents of traditional Christianity would reject Him just as much as a lot of the Orthodox Jews did in His day. They don't want to hear anything about Moses unless it involves retelling how he led the Israelites out of Egypt and across the Red Sea.

"The Complete Jewish Study Bible" is really enlightening and describes hundreds of things, like how they kiss the doorway, etc. I run across something on every single page that just jumps out at me, that I had never understood it before. Brandon is gifted!

Hannukah is Biblical, it's mentioned in the NT as something Jesus participated in. It's a piece of history in which God's miracles both helped His people stay strong when asked to worship false idols, and to keep the lights going. With Christian symbolism of the servant candle.
Sukkot is the time I celebrate Jesus' birth and life as many on Earth. Passover is also about his sacrifice and overcoming death. Besides the Holy Days were put in the Bible for us to partake in, "Christmas " /Saturnalia and Easter/Ishtar are not. Definitely not Halloween.
Though Reformation Day is not a Biblical Holy day I also observe it, as I think it's an important topic especially in homeschool. When Martin Luther stood up against the corruption of the Catholic Church. It didn't pan out as well as he hoped; but he tried. It's also why, I think, All Saints Day and All Hallows Eve started to take place during and after that. The Catholic Church wanted people distracted.
We stopped celebrating Halloween last year and Christmas as well (other than during Sukkot, having the extra worship and celebrating of that time...)❤

I enrolled in the Catholic Biblical School last September. Started with Genesis and have gone thru the Pentateuch. We really don’t understand Jesus without understanding the Jewish people/culture etc.

I like the way Jesus looks at Judas. The love in the look, seeing the betrayal that will come, seeing that Jesus’ heart is breaking knowing that this man will betray him and what will come. Jesus’ doesn’t want it, but knows it is necessary.
That doesn't sound anything like the Jesus in the Bible, because _this_ Jesus called Judas a devil and son of perdition.
Jesus knew who would betray . Judas. Was not a believer . He never was converted . He did not believe he was the Christ . Psalm 41:9 Foretold of Judas

Mentioning how there's a difference between Rabbinical Laws and Biblical is important. I just recently learned about the Karaites and I think they are not well known on purpose.
I think a Messianic Karaite would be most likely to be informed of the Bible in the most accurate ways. If there was such a synagogue I would attend it. I am a gentile but I look forward being as accurate as possible to the Word as originally intended.
Though I know the main message is to believe in Jesus as our Savior and to follow Him, the rest is also important. ❤
The Roman Pantheon was very similar to Hellenistic. I think it's very interesting how it has roots in Paeganism and Paeganism seems to mimic lots of Hebrew rituals. And to twist it.
The Roman Catholic Church developed as a power grab after Rome started to fail from "indigestion". They depict Jesus as Saturn, changed his birth to being celebrated on Saturnalia vs Sukkot and focus much on his infancy vs his whole life here as human. Idk any other time that happens with birthdays. They also depict God as Jupiter. Which is not Biblical in any way.

I haven't even been able to watch season 3 between watching chosen and watching you I have been learning so much more and I'm truly starting to understand so much more .I even rewatch the season because I sometimes understand more of what's being said ,but I sure would love to watch more . I'm glad you brought up the Helenistic Jews. They were forced to speak Greek by Alexander the Great. They were the ones the scriptures were put into Greek for from Aramaic. However, there are flaws in the Greek text and not considered valid by Aramaic speaking Semites. Unfortunately the Greek version went westward into Europe becoming as we know it, "the original Greek text." Thee originals were in Aramaic but for European converts, this was their beginning. Later that version was put into Latin. But people in the Near East today still use the Aramaic text and anything not in Aramaic is considered an interpretation.
Sometimes I'm just listening because I'm multi tasking, get'n my hands dirty, and when you Ad BOMB the video it's really distracting from the message and overall content to include experience. What if UA-cam said no more Ads. on videos that say Jesus Christ in it?

If I want to understand the Bible more there is the Strong's Concordance, many Bible dictionaries, handbooks and many other study guides. There are also few Bible preaching ministers you can learn from. What I don't need is to watch a heresy filled tv show. You gave yourself when you called the people characters.

Keep strong. Dont forget that despite the evil in this world, God is full of justice, mercy and love. Justice said we broke His perfect law - causing the world's previous perfection to be destroyed - and therefore we deserve Hell (like a punishment in any legal system but this is eternal as His perfect law is eternal too). Don't think you fit in that category? Ever done one of these?: lying, stealing - regardless of how small the object EVER, hating others - which is murder in God's perfect law, lusting (plus God sees our entire thought life). Justice says "the soul that sins shall die" - if we break one in thought/word/deed it's as if we're guilty of all of them. Quite simply, living by the law (which is doing everything perfectly) is impossible for sinful humans . The law shows us that 1. We will die in Hell if we fail to follow it and 2. We cannot save ourselves BUT, 3. God's perfect, immovable law points us to Christ, who followed and fulfilled the law in thought, word and deed perfectly in our place. He did what we couldn't and did it on our behalf. He was then sentenced to death on a cross, and took our personal punishment for our sin, paying our penalty (like paying our fine) completely FOR us, and has given us freedom. If we turn from the sins we have committed and repent (pursue the opposite direction of love through Christ) He will, overtime, recreate us into His image through The Holy Spirit which Jesus sends to all who accept Him as their personal Lord and Savior of their life. We cannot purify ourselves, but Christ lived that perfect sinless, pure life and then allotted it to our "account". That's where our righteousness comes from. Not from any good, works that you or I could do. It is not based on the amount of good works we do. God starts the changes, He carries it on, and He completes it in those who let Him. It's about letting Christ in to guide and teach you and obeying Him, again, through His power and instruction). He is our substitute in His life, death and resurrection. He essentially rewrote history in our place so that, if you believe in Him, it will be as if YOU had never sinned if you accept Christ's death as our own in our place. He is in Heaven right now preparing a place for us so that He can take His faithful, believing children home with Him when He returns. He will ressurrect us from death when He returns, giving mercy to those who accept His love, forgiveness, instruction and teachings in their life, and give justice to those who refuse it. He doesn't want ANY of us to go to Hell and die for continuing in evil and rejecting His way to life, thats why He died FOR us. Hes giving EVERYONE a chance, He wants everyone to take the free gift of salvation from Hell. He wants us to be His and begin to follow His life of love and service through His power and abiding (staying) with Him. So long as we keep our hearts near to Christ through His strength, strive to follow His will of perfect love revealed in the Bible, and let Him lead in the midst of (very certain) pitfalls and struggles, we will, in time, win the ultimate victory over sin, pain and DEATH through Christ. Even if you are willing to be made willing, pray for Jesus to come in and He will do what we can't. Give us The Holy Spirit who will guide us in the right way. NOTE: You are NEVER too sinful or messed up that God cannot turn your life around through Jesus. EVER If you have any questions let me know xx I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace. In the world you have tribulation and distress and suffering, but be courageous [be confident, be undaunted, be filled with joy]; I have overcome the world.” [My conquest is accomplished, My victory abiding.] John 16:33 - Amplified Bible

Both. He sent out disciples twice (or perhaps even more times, since not everything Jesus said and did has been mentioned in the Bible)

I thought they were doing the kissing of the mezuzah (sp?) backward, but then noticed Jesus' character did it both ways. He kissed his hand, touched it, then brought his hand back to his mouth. The rest of them didn't do that though.
I love Jesus; one thing I don't like about the show when they once said they bring that Rambo flagging in that turned me away from chosen. What they do is their own business but don't bring it and show it off on the set. My grandson I adopted he can pick up the Bible and read the first of what's going on he goes to a Christian School very smart 10 year old

That's the problem. It's not going by the Script. Anything that inserts someone's views about what happened distorts the actual events and the ppl involved. Any professing Christian should take it seriously because it IS serious. Promoting false gods is sin according to God, and that INCLUDES false ideas about who Christ is since He is God. God takes it extremely seriously, so anyone who claims to follow Him should be just as offended.

I wont be watching it… not only do i not need to see it because i know the word of God; and knowing that some cast members are pro LGBTQ, and insulted Christians; openly calling them “hateful” , the spirit of God is not in it. “Oh they’re just actors” you say? Well if after doing three seasons of it as an actor, and it has not changed these actors somehow, to understand the word of God…then this is not a show I’m going to invest any amount of my time watching or supporting.
Compromises start out small but then get bigger and bigger and bigger . A line has to be drawn.
And yet, all their talk, all their disrespect has not stopped the great message of Christ from being shared throughout the world. Except, their sin has kept you from seeing the greatness in this project. We often look for the mote in others eyes but cannot see our own blindness. Man is imperfect. This message is imperfect but the spirit and love surrounding it is perfect, real and beautiful. Anything that turns hearts away from “the world” and to Christ is GOOD, despite the imperfection of man. What about the drug addicted soul who finds God message through this project and chooses to change his life? Is that not of God? Or the father who is touched deeply and starts to join his family at services? Not one man or woman on that cast claims to be perfect. Their political leanings may not agree with you or me, but they could definitely be working on projects that promote evil instead of love. Open your heart, see the good. Anything that moves this evil world towards Christ is of Him, it’s good (not perfect..good). Watching the program offers you a tool to help turn hearts. Some need the visual media to understand and feel Christ’s presence. They need to start where the people are, and move them to the word of God.
Yet you call yourself pharaoh? Do you understand why you won't be taken seriously. Jesus is in control. Get over yourself, it wasn't made for those who read the word. But to lead sinners to Christ, in any way possible. God works in mysterious ways.

The film is an abberation, and in my opinion, a distortion and corruption of the actual characters.
Although I completely agree with you, I've seen firsthand how this series has positively affects someone who is a believer but not fully in love with Lord Jesus. My husband used to roll his eyes every time I brought anything about Jesus or the Bible up. After I stopped or I should say couldn't watch regular TV anymore, my husband started to miss me being in the living room with him to watch TV. He knew it broke my heart when anything came on and even commercials that were not, for lack of a better word, Christian appropriate. I suggested the Chosen to him and he's seen all 3 seasons. He will now stop and listen to what I have to say when talking about Jesus and the Bible. I'm literally getting to watch God soften his heart. Apologies for the long reply and God Bless you always 🙏
I thought I was alone in this sad situation. If you can't talk about our Lord and Saviour to rhe one person you are closest to on earth, it is devastating.😢 Just knowing, for whatever reason, brings peace to my heart and have hope that this can change. We can't watch The Chosen. We have antennas. But hopefully it will be offered as reruns on free t.v. platforms or UA-cam. Glad you and your husband are closer cause what other subject could bring 2 people together in such a loving way. I hope you have a blessed rest of the week.
It's meant to bring the message of the gospel to others, not believers. It's meant to drive you to God's word. Of course it is entertaining, as it's a TV show. It isn't meant to be 100% biblical. It's meant to make you want to know more and read it for yourself. We as believers, should ALWAYS test EVERYTHING against The Bible.

I stopped watching midway through season 2. Do JW's hate Jews? I know they see JESUS as the brother of Satan & I assume that's why they're using an Italian guy who seems not all there.
I don't like the fairytale Christ who comes across as a kind simpleton.
More than anything - we're not to add or take away from the Bible, so I don't get why this is a good thing.
People need to know the JESUS of peace and happiness is not the JESUS who's coming back to judge the world.

I have chosen not to watch chosen. I am not a fan of that series and basically it's because I'm not sure that I think the Mormons should be involved with it. They are not Christians and they should not be involved.
