I can't see how any other actress would pull it off. Playing a spoiled princess is easy, but playing a truly emotionally stunted yet intelligent child of an oligarch requires much more. She's perfect for the role.
She’s sooooo goood 😍😍😍😍
This is always the same shit. A lot of different actresses could pull this off. The entire cast could be different and you would masturbate about it the same way you do it now. It's the writing.
The cold, snarky business woman who underneath doubts herself and fears intimacy. Brilliant acting.
Brilliant 🧐
Incredibly skilled actor. She has this way of dominating the scenes she's in just with her facial expressions.
One of the best parts about Sara Snook's acting are her facial expressions. She can tell so much with just a look. Like her initial reaction to when Kendall taking her hand during Connor's pre=-wedding reception last episode, you could tell she knew something was wrong.
It’s the subtleties that really matter 🦾
My favorite thing about Sarah and Kieran’s relationship is the fight scene from the first episode was 100% real
A Sarah Snook spinoff would be absolutely brilliant as created by Jesse Armstrong. I absolutely love her! Australia produces some of the world’s most talented artists!
Imagine her and Toni Collette going toe to toe in an “August Osage County” type of movie.
Sarah is the main actor I'm rooting for at the Emmys. She deserves that long awaited win!!!
That would be soooo amazing 🤩🤩
So on the last episode, episode 3. When I was watching Kendal and Roman react I was getting the chills but the moment Shiv stepped in the room I started balling my eyes out!
yooooo, same 😢
Me too!
Give her the Emmy!
🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆
Rare beauty... simply gorgeous!
Shiv to me is so transparent. the truth is she was never the alpha with Tom. she picked tom because they had this unspoken understanding that outside the home she would be Khal Drogo, but inside the home Khaleesi (Tom) was kind of the life blood of the couple. he was her hype man so she could be confident in her ability to lead. without her hype man she is kind of a unfocused mess.
when Shiv stopped protecting tom and abused his end of the relationship what did Tom do? He fucked her over with brutal efficiency.
part of her is turned on by what he did, but her ego can't let her be the number 2 in the relationship as well as play 2nd fiddle to her brothers.
part of her knows she fucked up and that her wanting a open relationship and saying hurtful shit to Tom under the guise of maintaining that dynamic is what got her in this mess, but she just can't bring herself to admit fault cause it's not something her father would do and she like Logan sees it as weakness to be honest.
tom on the other hand can be honest with her (like he did on the beach) and it's that brutal honesty that is her biggest weakness. she has been called every curse word under the sun, that shit doesn't cut deep, but someone being honest to her face about how they really feel without yelling or trying to be me and pointing out her shitty behaviour....she doesn't have an answer for any of that because honesty isn't in the Roy playbook.
it's actually why I feel most sad for shiv. she could be so happy with Tom if she stopped treating the relationship like a struggle for power and just focused on being a single team with Tom.
She admits as much to him in S1: she was in a very bad place before he came along, he picked her up, she became dependent on him and it freaked her out that she needed him and couldn't function behind him. So she obviously tried to control him and one-up him to make it more bearable for her because she can't stand being the one with less power in the relationship, she needs to have the upper hand. And for all her being a Roy and socially above him, she point blank admits that he's her emotional crutch and she needs him to function, so he's the more powerful one in her eyes. If he also becomes successful in the company, she loses the only leverage she has over him, which is why she pulls her shit every time something good happens to him
Treating relationship like a struggle for power is i think one of the reasons why so many divorce happens especially in the 21st century.
Sarah snook is a delicious actor. I hope she gets plenty of work after this. I love her. truly.
So tasty 😋
If they make Shiv Roy's College Year Prequel.. That's Gonna be Insane 🔥
That would beee soooo sickkkk. Thank you for watching our video, your like and subscribe will allow us to keep bringing you more videos just like this 🙏🏼🙏🏼
sexy!
Please don’t. It wont ever come close to better call saul qualities.
@@BB-ez4vi we have to give it a chance, Jesse Armstrong can do miracles
@@BB-ez4vi never say never bb!
This is such a great channel. There are things that I sometimes take for granted in my own prep, and watching this video gave me a few notes about how i can integrate things Sarah did into my practice. One example here was certain podcasts, which I also heard Margot Robbie leaned on to get into Barbie.
Im so here for Shiv, shes the best... Like the way season 4 is looking
Shiv is everything
Finally we saw glimpses of Shiv's feelings in season 4 and i wanted to hug her and say it's okay to feel and let someone in.
Sorry for the creeps, i'll see myself out....
The Shiv Roy character is definitely no side piece. Totally stands on its own just like all of the characters. It’s hard to write all characters to stand on their own, but Succession does not play favorites.
When I see big names like Ben Afleck acting, I think, “that’s Afleck acting.” When we see Snook as Shiv, we think, “ok, she IS that character.”
I watch the show specifically because of her ☺️
Hahahha same 😂
Sarah's internet union campaign for her emmy. YES ✨️
All in favor, say aye!
What an underrated channel, great video
Thank youuuuu, tell all your friends about us. So we can continue growing 🦾🦾
NO ONE acts better w/ their eyes than Snook. Steve McQueen-like.
She's amazing.
#FACTS
In season 1 I thought that she wasn't deserved to rule the empire. And now I kind of want her to win
Ayyyeeee
I will always love siobhan roy
I'd like to see Alan Ruck's prep for Connor.
Hahhaah maybe 😉
He was interested in politics from a very young age.
honestly it's truer to the nature of the show if this channel just completely ignores connor lol
@@Mollysanchezcomedian Perfect comment 😆
She low key won although by proxy of her husband. She’s not happy about it but ultimately when she saw her brother kick his feet up on poppas desk that was it! Her brothers never supported her and always saw her as an obstacle or challenge so it wasn’t a total surprise to see her heel turn in the end. Tom was the only man in her life that ever supported her potential and knew she was a force to be reckoned with. Her performance was amazing and I can’t wait to see what she does next! I pray she gets an Emmy for the final season 4! 🤓
She deserves that Emmy more than anybody on the planet 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Thank you for commenting on an amazing performance.
Her performance is phenomenal 🙏🏼
Great video, I'm looking forward to seeing spotlights on the rest of the succession actors!
Also, Is this channel on any other platforms?
No other platforms as of right now. Which platform do you think we should be on?
@@unpeeled_ TikTok or Instagram Reels would be great for sharing short clips of these breakdowns to a larger audience! It would also allow for more direct community feedback
You have to cover cousin Greg. He's my favorite and I expect him to either walk away from the Roy family or ascend to the top.
Something may or may not be in the works 🤫
Succession PREQUEL !!!???? Yessss!!!!!
That would be awesomeeee
So curious how they cast Snook - or who else may have read for the part. She is perfection.
Total perfection 🙏🏼🙏🏼
All of them. Especially Roman
😉
ℹ can’t see ANYONE else playing Shiv Roy.
She’s amazing 🤩🙏🏽 🎭 ❌⭕️
ℹ would love ❤️ to see what Kendall has on his play list. 🤣 like what music 🎶 and artist’s does he listen 🎧 to for him to get in the Zone
eeds an emmy
I don't see a killer wardrobe. Or even a killer executive, much less killer thinker, intellect, or visionary. Hardly. The role seems more to me as the kind of daughter who's not very gifted, but extremely entitled with an ego overfed by being a spoiled child. I keep trying to find one of the four offspring who might be considered gifted or experienced or visionary, but alas, I can't pick out an offspring who really would shine for the company and the country if inheriting the corporation. Even all together. . . .inadequate. Which doesn't mean that their father was king. He sure didn't know the first thing about passing the company on.
Exactly. Her clothes are ill fitting and unflattering in general on purpose. She’s not the brightest either so you are right
The one thing I can't stand about Shiv are her turtlenecks. In fact, I usually don't even notice these things and in the last episode I was thinking "who is dressing that actress? Those are some seriously unflatering sweaters".
😂😂😂 I’m dead
She is Hillary Clinton voter.
What?? I always thought she looked great lol
I read somewhere that it’s intentional to make her clothes expensive but unflattering and ill fitting
Jeremy Strong seems to be actually obnoxious
she was so good but god was the character frustrating, 99 percent of the time made the wrong move and blamed everyone else, but thats the point really
shiv is my least favorite character, but I think she's the best acted
She’s my favorite 🙏🏼
If she wants to impress me with her accent, she needs to do an American sincerely trying and failing to do an Australian accent.
Dominic West did that in The Wire and it was hilarious.
1:31 -- how disappointing. In the show, Shiv's hypocritical "all white men are privileged and evil" quips seemed to be rightfully portrayed as hollow and (in terms of "end-of-the-world" presidential elections) unnecessarily histrionic (given how often and easily she flipped politically, and how often she used women and minorities as props whenever it best suited her personal career growth only to immediately throw them under the bus when needed).
But, I guess the actress genuinely believes such brainless racism and sexism as "white men bad and powerful".
