My analysis and partial conclusion is that after the the false imprisonment incident, she gave it some deep thought, she saw the opportunity to be rid of Brian for good and saw her going to FLEO as a chance to begin laying the foundation to stage his suicide or setting up conditions to kill him and claim self defense.
Once she went to the LEO and laid out her statement, the severity of the outcome was not what she had in mind and when her brother en-law officer McCrainie flipped the script of; "he was not their to kidnap you, he was there to KILL you"! He lays it out to her; based on the items you (Denise) described, thats a kill kit which means he's done this before, he came prepared (hinting he may have killed Mike), he must said something to you, what was it?
After that bomb shell, Denise was not expecting anything like this at all, once she realized the script was being flipped, she started back peddling at warp speed. She kept emphasizing, no Brian was going to kill himself. Her arrogance overshadowed the voice of reasoning. Yes Denise had a very VERY BAD day once she walked into that interrogation room. FLEO patiently waited 15 years and pounced on her once she finished her complaint, they (Brian & Denise) were the primary suspects for 15 years for her husband Mike's disappearance!

This attorney is trying so hard to drill the message home that Brian killed his best friend, as if he needs to be clever to get Brian to tell the truth - when Brian is willing to tell each and every single horrific detail on his own. I watched the videos of the Denise Williams murder story. It was truly
a perfect murder in that Denise and Brian actually got away with murder
and were not caught by evidence or forensics. Some locals suspected
Denise and Brian were involved in the disappearance of Mike Williams,
but no one could prove a murder.
Denise and Brian not only pulled off
a un-solved murder, Denise claimed 2 million dollars in life insurance
policies, one of which was sold by Brian. Brian and Denise eventually
got married, but they also grew apart. and that was the break in the
unsolved murder. Denise got tired of Brian, and she had the 2 million
dollars. Brian got kicked out, and he tried to get back together with
Denise. She had lots of money, because of his selling Mike the life
insurance policy. He had to get back with her, so he hid in her car.
When she got in the car, he forced her to listen to him. She had to
comply because he had a pistol. She did as he requested, long enough to
get him out of her car.
Then she went to the police and charged him
with kidnapping, with a pistol. Mistake, Big Mistake. He went to
prison, and So he eventually got back at Denise by confessing the
unsolved murder. Had these two love birds stayed in love, they would
have gotten away with murder. AND 2 MILLION DOLLARS.

Sean Loughlin it gives grounds for an appeal citing judicial misconduct. If Brian is intelligent he wouldn’t need an assist from the judge. The evidence was circumstantial and from a conspirator who admittedly carried out the murder, disposed of the body, and tampered with evidence. It seemed like the judge was trying to sway the jurors by clearly demonstrating he was in the state’s pocket.

This defense attorney is not the greatest lol. 3. Although Brian did a horrific and terrible unforgivable thing, I do feel like he has remorse. Love makes people do stupid crazy things. You can tell he’s been dying to get this all out because of all the detail he gives throughout his entire testimony. I’m glad Mike Williams’ mother got to see justice after all the hard work never giving up she did. I feel for the daughter because I’ll bet her mother never spoke about her father and then to learn that her own mother is the reason her father is no longer here has to just destroy you entirely.

Steven Ladnyk - I don’t think that the police were initially terrible....they were guided by the fish and wildlife people, and to a certain extent by Brian Winchester’s father, who couldn’t conceive that anyone would have done foul play to Mike. _He, like everyone else, thought Mike had gone hunting alone._ Only Denise and Brian knew that he hadn’t, which is one huge marker of Denise’s guilt given by the prosecutor....she never said that Brian was with Mike, but kept the fiction going that he was alone. The police were terrible later on, when Mike’s mother kept raising her concerns and the ignored her information. I don’t know when she became aware of the huge life insurance settlement, but you can bet she informed the police as soon as she knew!

I watched the videos of the Denise Williams murder story. It was truly a perfect murder in that Denise and Brian actually got away with murder and were not caught by evidence or forensics. Some locals suspected Denise and Brian were involved in the disappearance of Mike Williams, but no one could prove a murder.
Denise and Brian not only pulled off a un-solved murder, Denise claimed 2 million dollars in life insurance policies, one of which was sold by Brian. Brian and Denise eventually got married, but they also grew apart. and that was the break in the unsolved murder. Denise got tired of Brian, and she had the 2 million dollars. Brian got kicked out, and he tried to get back together with Denise. She had lots of money, because of his selling Mike the life insurance policy. He had to get back with her, so he hid in her car. When she got in the car, he forced her to listen to him. She had to comply because he had a pistol. She did as he requested, long enough to get him out of her car.
Then she went to the police and charged him with kidnapping, with a pistol. Mistake, Big Mistake. He went to prison, and So he eventually got back at Denise by confessing the unsolved murder. Had these two love birds stayed in love, they would have gotten away with murder. AND 2 MILLION DOLLARS.

The murder case broke after the kidnapping charge. Brian was going to prison anyway. He could go to prison alone on the kidnapping, and Denise stays free enjoying the money, or he could go to prison and take her down with him. Prosecutor had no direct evidence on Denise, only Brian's testimony and circumstantial evidence. But very strong circumstantial evidence. They plotted together to write Mike's life policies. And Brian murdered his best friend based on what ? Only based on a promise that Denise would share the money with him. Can you imagine if Denise had no involvement in the murder ? That Brian did not have affair with Denise, wrote the life policies on his own initiative, murdered his friend, and then hope the rich, grieving widow would marry him ? It's just TOO IMPLAUSIBLE !!! The only logical conclusion is that Denise was in on the murder, if you believe Brian was the killer. Brian proved he was the killer by leading police to the body. Case closed.

That first attorney in this video was weak, he basically just ran through the guy's story again. Pointed out maybe a few more details and then said "You're a murderer right? And a liar? That's all your honor!"

“You didn’t want to go to prison, you didn’t want to pay for your consequences, right”
    “Just like Denise, right.”
I really like his answers to this attorney. I do find her more threatening and dangerous than him. It’s women like her that prove women will always be more powerful than men. Men who fall in love will literally kill their best friend just for the chance with that woman. It does happen the other way around at times. But, women usually have a much easier time with manipulation, especially with men who desperately love them.

      Absolutely true!
As a woman I have concluded that manipulation is rather extremely easy for us.

If you see a man do something out of the ordinary than what he would normally do usually it’s a female the common denominator in the situation.
