    ⭐️ Mindy, to remove the garlic smell from your hands, wash your hands with a metal spoon or butter knife in between your palms. Sounds weird but works like a charm. Works on the onion smell too. Hope this helps. Merry Christmas and happy holidays!

    Btw, one tip on the bay leaves, if you have "crumbs" or are cooking for older or younger folks, when you might be nervous about them getting a leaf caught in their throat, make a tea from the bay and add that for the same flavor 😁

    My trick for fresh tasting garlic without the smelly hands. Buy a large quantity of garlic and put it in the food processor with just enough oil to make it moldable. I use a cookie scoop to put it out on a baking sheet and freeze them and once they're frozen enough to not stick together I put the little scoops - double bagged - into the freezer! Anytime a recipe calls for garlic I just get a scoop out from the freezer and toss it in. It took me less than 10 minutes to get them ready to freeze!

I had to make some accommodations for dairy free, but pretty easy and was able to keep the cost down. We had never tried the apple salad but it was successful, we used green apples and leftover halloween candy! Cant wait for the next one.

    Totally agree about being meh about shrimp. It’s like the jello of fish. Not a huge fan of the texture 😂

    Wait wait wait -- your husband, a TEXAN, says pee-can!?! Texan demerits! That is our state tree, sir. It's pronounced puh-cahn! 😉
    Also, I appreciate when you include seafood in your meal plans!

    The penne you used in the Hamburger Helper dupe was an Aldi brand (Reggano), which was not shown when you displayed your WalMart grocery haul. Did you just swap one out for the other, or was the Reggano an addition?

      I just grabbed the wrong one from the pantry. I also filmed a skillet meals video as I was in the middle of filming this one and I used the Walmart penne in one of those dishes.

    I can’t believe they toast the nuts the same day, that’s so cool. Do Oklahomans have southern accents?

    • @SeeMindyMom
      @SeeMindyMom  5 місяців тому

      No, we have more like Texas accents. Not quite the same as a southern drawl.

    Trick to get the smell of garlic off your hands: rub them on the inside of a stainless steel sink. Sounds crazy but it works!

    People let me let you know something just cause you’re broke doesn’t mean you don’t have to season your food. If you have seasonings, please season with your heart content not a pinch of paprika you need like six pinches.

    Stainless steel gets garlic smell off your fingers. If your sink is stainless steel, rub your fingers on the sides, then you can wash hands as usual. Voila! Odor gone!

    Hell the price has already gone up. For 2 bell peppers, bottle of teriyaki, 1 lb spaghetti noodles, 1 lemon, 12oz 41-60 shrimp, 8 chicken breast (variable), 3 garlic bulbs, 15oz jar of alfredo, 12oz cherry tomatos, and 15$ for reusable baking sheet: 74$ holding price, 68$, and thats after saving 11$ for being a wal mart annual member. so in theory.. 79$ for way less than what you grabbed lol.
    This is getting insane
