Craigend is looking no to bad for its age. I remember stipping scrap from the old farm house and out buildings. Garthamlock I would get lost there now Porchester St., at the top of the stairs I recognized.

Up the lane were the tower and Craigends built is where we used to go to fight the fleet and that is before the GYTO were thought of. But yae I was toddler.
Thanks for going past Glenraith Road, my parents last home. I could recognise Craigend no problem but not Garthamlock. You went down my old place, Balveny Street and that is totally changed. In my day 1968-75 on the one side it was all 5 apartments. There were 8 of us and we were the smallest family on that side of the street. Garthamlock was a rough place then - in my opinion, worse than Easterhouse, where we had just moved from. Spent a lot of time hanging about the water towers in the school holidays. Sometimes played football on Sunday afternoons against a bunch of kids from the opposite end of Garthamlock who included Ronnie Glavin, who was on Thistle's books then. Those were the days when clubs, particularly Celtic, got their players from places like Easterhouse and Garthamlock.
