Mine 6 string Cirrus is over 13yrs old and still my main bass. Has been going strong since day one. I wish these were made in the US like the originals.
Wow! peavey have come back. I would love to buy one those babies, what sites can I go to again to order one of those basses? and also thank you for a great Bass illustration.
Very well made instruments, I remember they had out some pretty solid t-60 guitars in the late 70's early 80's, Peavey is a very good company. This tiger bass is gorgeous and sounds great.
I owned one but didn't like not having a passive option. I like to be able to switch between active and passive. Apart from that it was an absolutely beautiful instrument, could get any tone and played like butter.
At 3 minutes & 14 seconds to 3 minutes & 15 seconds is the one for me as ive always liked bass guitar that try to catch your eye as soon as you have just seen it... I had 1 Peavey Bass Guitar in the 90s & it never let me down & everything about it was a joy to play as it wasnt as heavy as other bass guitars & it had a slimmer faster neck & im thinking of buying a Peavey Bass Guitar again but ill need to look into whats is the Newest Models before deciding to go for 1 from 2006 onwards or 1 just out now!.. In light of this still ongoing coronavirus and its variants stay safe and healthy wherever you are in this world... .....
HI there! Great review of these great basses. I've been searching hi and low and so far haven't found a single place to buy them from. By the way, I live in Poland and no shop around seems to carry them up. Is there any shop in Germany or the surroundings where they could be found?
Would you please be kind to measure and mention the battery drain (milli-Amps) in the next video? My old Peavey would eat trough two quality batteries in 20-30 hours (19mA drain). That drain is such a deal breaker (Ibanez BTB with Vari-mid 3 drains 0.08mA, Cort GB75 0.8mA) that I had to make an external powersupply and connect the bass with stereo cable.
Tomislav Simić I havent heard of a Cirrus bass having battery issues though, you might have a BXP which has battery issues you can read on threads, I own an old cirrus myself and have never experienced a battery drain :)
Tomislav Simić I read about the issue with the bxp and yes some unlucky models ate away batteries, they said they had the pickups replaced by peavey, try addresing it via email or just replace the pick up itself which is annyoying since it should be checked by qc, im not electronic savy so I cant give advice on repairs or modifactions though :(
Peavey replaced those?! Oh wow, had no idea. Thanks about that info. I was in the talks with their reps about the issue, and at all times their attitude (for the lack of a softer word) was "that's how it is". After calling USA and UK offices they were about to send the replacement preamp (no-one mentioned pickups). But having them so sure that it is supposed to be like that, I told them not to do that (because: transport fees, import taxes, etc). God was I wrong to be a good person!
Hello everyone ! Can anyone tell me if this bass works with standard strings or does it need extra long scale strings ? I really dig the tone but struggling to find strings is really a dealbreaker for me. Thanks !
I think the metal plate functions in a similar manner to how guitarists swear that adding weight to the headstock increases sustain. Some guitarists swear by having capos clipped to the headstock.
This bass is the one 😭 can anyones help me where to get one? Come on your guys.. Have you ever felt that moment where you've felt you've found the one? I'm not the financially inclined to buy the Ken Smith type.. If I get this, I'd be satisfied for another decade 😑
You learn easily to compensate these tiny differences with your playing technique. But when you play a bass with pickups like this, you can notice that the volume is indeed a bit more even
@@basstheworldofficial I'm sure there's little to no change in playing technique. I'd love to own a Cirrus 5-string some day, so hopefully I might get the opportunity to give it a try sometime!
The first bass line is just beautiful
it kinda reminds me of Sweet Dreams by Marilyn Manson

I always thought the Peavy Cirrus was a hidden gem of a bass.
Just paid a real pretty penny for one today!
The only bass I have is a peavy cirrus tiger eye 4 as a gift from my papaw. It’s my absolute favorite bass of all time.
Mine 6 string Cirrus is over 13yrs old and still my main bass. Has been going strong since day one. I wish these were made in the US like the originals.
PeeJay Brown Jr they’re definitely work horses! Mine is a 2004 walnut 5. Still killin!
Gregor my very first bass was a Peavey Patriot bass 1976.
These basses are nice , thanks.

Funny to see how Gregor had grown as a presenter through the years. 2020 now and he seems way more comfortable
One of the models are like mine. Topped off with Walnut and bubbling woods, with gold hardware.
Nice sound. This is what I a call a bass sound.
That four string is fucking gorgeous!
The metal plate on the headstock does help the sustain. And it eliminates deadspots as well.
These are the best basses I've ever played in terms of tone and comfort.
Love the sound of the Red Oak, I have an American made Cirrus fretless and have owned several fretted Cirrus 5's in the past.
it remembers to me Mike Porcaro. Rip.
The groove mister

Yes!!! They're finally back!!!!
Good lookin' smoothie on that desk you have there

Yep, these Peaveys always impress me.
Been rocking a Peavey RSB for 14 years!
They are among the best ever made.

They made it here in Indonesia, it's very cheap here, hardcase included.
Would you please be kind to measure and mention the battery drain (milli-Amps) in the next video?

It was BXP. Aren't Indonesian by default BXP series? I did a thorough analysis and each piece was draining 1/3 od that 18mA (two pickups + preamp).

First bass has a great slap tone.... Peavey, another quality time tested brand.

omg thats one of the best 5 string that I heard
Finally! I got to get one

there are also some commercial products like the Fatfinger for this
Let's say I had the money to buy this, would this be consider starting bass for beginner.
Not a starting, more of an intermediate model, so even better. If you can afford it, don't even think about it. Buy it!
This bass is the one 😭 can anyones help me where to get one? Come on your guys.. Have you ever felt that moment where you've felt you've found the one?
I'm not the financially inclined to buy the Ken Smith type.. If I get this, I'd be satisfied for another decade 😑
I have a 2007 USA Made Cirrus with VFL Pickups one of the best basses for stoner rock
Nice bass!!! What’s the price for bass in EU?
Why don’t you ask Google? 😉
Are you feeling ok?
Are you?
Are the indonesian ones as good as the Americans?
the only difference is where they are made. they both use the exact same parts. just one is built overseas.
No. They're good, but a genuine usa cirrus will spank an indonesian made cirrus any day of the week.
Where to buy them in Europe?
they just came out. I'm sure they'll appear in some stores soon
Niiice, no 6 string version on the sight tho :c need a 6 string tiger eye
Hello, where are these new cirrus peavey built?
+Miguel Gonzalez Mesa in Indonesia
+Miguel Gonzalez Mesa in Indonesia
thanks, do you know if they are as good as the old ones built in usa?
Mine is USA but I bought it 12 years ago.
The curved radius pickup is a cool idea... but on the other hand, I've never felt my A string to be any quieter than my B or G, sooo *shrug.

In Indonesia

+ayy lmao brushing his teeth right now ;)
Muito bom!
Who else is seeing this video just for the basslines??
me!
Had a 5 before
Sold it
Found another one today
yeah those knobs are hard to turn...
They are all made I Indonesia with Peavey American specs. They are lower in price but not quality. Mine is a five .
Hate the gold hardware. But the sound is gorgeous.
I had a 5 string, and it just didn't have the punch I wanted. I gave it to my older brother, and bought a different bass,
nice but brand gets ripped on by others for being cheap
great review tho.
Not popular, but great!
It's pronounced "Seer-us"
Lower your voice and say "I'll be back"!
Maybe next time 😘
