Imagine Twisted Timbers and Fury right next to each other. Two world class rides within 100 ft of each other. Idk if I would go to any other area of the park lol.
Oh man. Dan, you made it back to my hood and I missed you. Glad you enjoyed your visit. Have to agree with you on Fury. It's amazing. I used to like Vortex until I experienced Pipeline at SeaWorld Orlando. I'm sold on Pipeline. Thanks for getting to our little patch on the state line. Hope I happen to be at Carowinds the next time you visit.
Whoa! @6:55 I choked!! Was NOT expecting that! Was that a Black Racer? I have a friend that lives in Salisbury NC and she sends me pics of these bad boys!! Yikes!!! What does a rider do if they come across one of these on a coaster seat?!!!
I grew up thirty minutes from Carowinds and have been maybe 5 times my entire life. 😄 Have actually thought about going but haven’t had time. Surprised to see the Hurler is still there after all these years. I think the Cyclone will be there till the park closes honestly
Can't wait to drive from Cleveland Ohio to Charlotte NC for Fury, Afterburn, Thunder Strike, Copperhead Strike, Flying Cobras, I love Drop Tower. R U kidding me? 30.00 for a Slingshot. Vortex stand up coasters was very unenjoyable and rough ride.
I need to check out Carowinds again. I haven't been there since the late 80s as a kid. Carowinds has come a long way since then. Back then they didn't have that many coasters from what I remember and it seemed to me more like a glorified State Fair when compared to Busch Gardens Willamsburg. Now Carowinds is the home of one of the best coasters in North America and has a ton more coasters and such from when I last went.
Copperhead Strike earned a much deserved a 9 out of 10 grade for me. I got more rides on it than you did, however. The front seat was probably my favorite, but all were good and gave great and different experiences. It's my #2 in the park after Fury 325, and I'd love it if King's Island got something of this quality to replace Vortex. I'd prefer an extreme spinner or something like Voltron at Europa Park at Kings Island. Still, Carowinds has 4 incredible coasters (Fury 325, Copperhead Strike, Thunder Striker, & Afterburn). I'm happy I made the park my first of 2024.
@@zansusar75Yeah I hope they get rid of it ngl, replace it with a better wooden coaster and they will have an iconic duo that ride and the fury and Carowinds would have one of the best coaster line ups
I recently went there last week drove from Cleveland Ohio to Charlotte NC, got my ride on Fury 325, Thunder Striker, Afterburn front row without using double belts, Electro Spin with just one push of the shoulder harness to get the sensor light yellow 🟡. Hurler wooden coaster was unenjoyable rough, so was Nighthawk rough on my shoulders. Decided to give Vortex stand up coasters another chance, can fit the safety belt on my own, sometimes one push of the shoulder harness, but still was unenjoyable. Copperhead Strike, Flying Cobras, did a lot of rides on Drop Tower, Carolina Goldrusher was very tight fit and rough. Screaming Weaver
Carowinds is my home park and I can assure you I agree with Windseeker. They have neutered that ride to death. Not only that ride but Zephyr, the Carousel and Electro Spin as well. They are by far the weakest flat rides out there compared to any other park with the same rides. All of the flat rides there also have a very very short ride cycle compared to other parks too
I always though that if Copperhead strike ran 6-8mph faster? It would be more than just mediocre. And Carowinds is not complete. They do not have Pink Chickens.....
Pretty much just spend the whole time riding Fury Intimidator and Copperhead the whole time afterburn is ok but the rest of those rides are horrible such a dramatic drop off. By about 5 or 6 I’m pretty much at Fury the rest of the day along with all the other enthusiasts😂
I don't get the Mako and Diamondback hype in relation to Intimidator. Mako gives average B&M Hyper floater and the second half is mid at best. Diamondback has a rattle and is a B&M Hyper of the same era as Intimidator. Intimidator is a smoother Diamondback and IMO crushes Mako's airtime, making it my favorite B&M Hyper.
Carowinds is a nice park but, it’s also one of the ugliest I’ve been to. The view from almost every coaster is awful. All you see is refuse, junk, old parts, rusting vehicles, etc. They need to clean the park up, get rid of all the junk, and plant some trees and flowers.

Loved the video, this was my home park when I grew up in Charlotte. haven't been there in over 10 years, very nostalgic park looks great
Dan, your personality never goes old. Your awesome 💯💯💯
Appreciate it!

Enjoyed the visit! Definitely a fun park!

Looks like a black rat snack. harmless and usually quite docile.
I remember learning about Carowinds from your video years ago! Ended up getting a pass and going for a couple of seasons!
That's awesome!
Carowinds sure does love painting every coaster Blue.
Could say the same for SeaWorld before Ice Breaker and the Kraken repaint.
It’s also because six flags bought Carowinda and repainted a Ton of stuff
Going in 2 weeks. Can’t wait.
Of all the Cedar Fair parks that I haven't been to yet, this one excites me the most.
This one is my home park and I can tell you it definitely lives up to the hype, if you ever go comment here how it went
I was there yesterday too but Fury was down & also Thunder striker was down towards the end of the day. It would have been cool to meet you.
NOOO NOT FURY! Hope you still had a good day at the park, but that's a bummer. If you're ever in Florida, send a message!
Was it windy? If so, that’s why.

Should head over again! Had a great visit and the park is still running strong.

I’m going tomorrow
Just came back so fun

Lived in Charlotte for 7 years. When we lived there “Days of Thunder” was the new Attraction! Followed by “Wayne’s World”.
7/10 is extremely generous for Hurler ngl. me personally im giving it a solid 1/10
KD is my home park so going to carowinds, riding hurler knowing what it could be, is extremely disappointing for me
I fricken love the hurler
@@Kr8ts_TTV i’ll respect that opinion, but i could never ☠️
@@zansusar75Yeah I hope they get rid of it ngl, replace it with a better wooden coaster and they will have an iconic duo that ride and the fury and Carowinds would have one of the best coaster line ups
3/10 for me, not that rough. Just boring asf
Rating Vortex so highly is so brave.
In October scareowinds is soooooo funnnnnn

I never been on fury 325 yet but i know that drop must feel like an eternity.
Let me know when you are here again. I live 20mins away
Will do! Might take a trip for Scarowinds.
Dude you gave Vortex an 8 💀🤷🏾♂️ then turned around and gave Copperhead strike a 7.5 😂😂 I’m dead
those were my 2 least fav, all the other rides were really fun
despite Carowinds being my home park, i’ve never been able to ride Nighthawk because every time i go it breaks down 😆
Carowinds needs to bring some life back to the former Action Theater/Plants vs. Zombies building. They could replace it with a flying theater.
Dude your going to have to start the decimal system like Dave from one bite
Hold up, Carolina goldrusher is better than copperhead strike🤔
I just went yesterday and fury was closed!!!! When was this?
Memorial Day weekend
What are you smoking with 7.5 for Copperhead Strike? Way off! Especially after what you gave Hurler and Vortex.
Only the best. It's how I felt, I was really not impressed with the ride.
Looks a lot like Kings Island except for the lay down and stand up coasters
SeaWorld Orlando New roller coaster next
Wait fr

Copperhead is a 9 bucko
You have to really be a coaster head to design a family multi launch that starts with a slow roll right out of the station

I don't go to any park that doesn't accept cash, I drive right past Carowinds and on to DollyWood.
I can’t wait for Dollywood to be next to stop accepting cash. Get with the times grandpa.
It’s so annoying that they don’t accept cash!
That's a lot of extra cash to be spending on gas
Kings Island is better.
