The incredible stability the buildings have! Seriously impressed about how they built Taiwan
I think taiwan is very poor country but they have many many tall buildings
@myrene123 not China building
@@myrene123 Don't lie, it's the Taiwanese who built the solid house, not the crappy house from China
@@말라유 Taiwan’s GDP per capita was ranked 14th in the world, not poor at all.
The original comment is a bot.
Impressed by the news reposter who kept reporting while the office and screens were rocking around her.
Taiwan buildings are well granded? 7.7 magnitude earthquake??? Buildings still standing?? Wow!!! I pray everyone survives😢.
It actually 7.2
@@austinkuo2239 Does that make it any better?? 😢😒
Well done Construction companies! Strong buildings
Well done civil enforcement, no construction company builds well out of choice.
People seem pretty chill.
All those threats about China invading Taiwan and now this, they are just living in the moment
Dude in the wave pool loving life😂
He had a wave machine for a moment 😂
but I'm sure he is peeing in the pool
@@말라유 Or worse.
Agreed!
Ya he’s probably drunk.
Built in Taiwan really is understatement.
🤣🤣
Japanese design
Made... in Taiwan.
If built in China it will collapse even without earthquake
I can not believe that building is still in one piece, I bet if the population of Türkiye see this they will be wondering what happened to there buildings when they had there last earthquake .
Wow...their infrastructure is incredible
It's not the infrastructure It's GOD. I hope things wouldn't get any worse but the world is getting closer and closer to end times. Wish everyone well take heed and God bless
@@missg5385 no, it was them. Stop relating this to your god.
@koro-cookie-pookie I always respect others opinion so I will leave it there but, isn't my God yours and every one else on earth also?
@@missg5385 No. Its not. Not everyone is religious. And if God was real, wouldn't he have prevented this from happening?
@koro-cookie-pookie I got my answer stay safe 🙏
Guy in pool look like he had fun
That's not fun. When encountering an earthquake, it shakes slightly at first, and then accelerates in less than 2 seconds. The guy must have been swimming when there was a big earthquake and it was difficult to walk, so he stayed there.
I don't think I saw anyone panic! The news faster just carried on talking while balancing 😆 Taiwan is a special place for sure!
This is absolutely horrific. Sending love, prayers, and condolences to Taiwan and the families who lost their loved ones . I'm absolutely impressed by the infrastructure overall though... I hope all goes well, prayers from Pakistan 🇵🇰
Wishing everyone in Taiwan peace, where I visited in 2019, it's truly beautiful. Cầu chúc cho mọi người Taiwan được bình an, nơi tôi từng ghé thăm năm 2019, thật đẹp.
The swaying swimming pool should be nice as a regular tourist attraction!❤
Yeah, those swimming pool shots always deliver.
That was so cool. If that water was warm and it wasn’t the end of the world I would definitely try that. Looked so fun. Those crooked buildings remind me of Gatlinburg Tennessee. They have a building built to look upside down.
Also those rocking vehicles the bus and being on scooters on a bridge would be very unsettling.
You’d have to question of the integrity of everything after that.
Notice. No looting.
What amazes me is how calm the people were. Sending prayers and love ❤️
The structures😢are strong enough
If this was in China half the city would be rubble. Taiwan is nearby, so why is it so much more advanced? Impressive.
Because it's democracy ☝️
Both democracy and Japanese influence
They say they have earthquakes a lot because they are right on a fault line. They know this thus the buildings are designed to take it.
Because they reguarily get earthquakes, so they have been forced to make their buildings better
The ones that fell I assume were in lower income areas and possibly had soft story issues. To my understanding, knowledge about how to build buildings to withstand earthquakes has greatly advanced and certain building styles have been identified as very vulnerable. I live in SF, and we're similarly earthquake prone, and yet we had a bunch of buildings that were soft stories, and the government basically forced owners to retrofit for public safety sake iirc. Newer buildings need to be earthquake resitent (I cannot explain how millennium tower got approved...)
Vs In areas with less earthquakes, they have had less a need. Buildings get built for the needs of the areas. Like, our smaller buildings are mostly wood construction here due to cheap wood, but also harder to make em earthquake proof. Vs, in parts of Europe (Germany and England?), it's a lot of stone/brick, as that's what works for their areas and they don't tend to have earthquakes.
What is the name of that city in China?
Taiwan engineers are godly
Amazing people, amazing country.
pray for taiwan
Praying does nothing
@@Wesley-Stokey To be fair, it does make some people feel better.
But of course it does not affect the earth.
@@Wesley-Stokeyshut up I’m from taiwan
Amen and Amen
How terrifying. My thoughts and prayers are with the people of Taiwan.
Wow ,hope everyone's ok
Love Taiwan. One of the many few countries on this planet that are amazing
Let's pray for Taiwan. Lord please protect your people.
AMEN GOD is coming
Fallen angels of apocalypse

Do we pray to Buddha or ?
How does that work? I mean how / why should he protect people from himself?
@@seeharvester I think Buddha is in order, since Tawian is predominantly Buddhist/Taoist. 🤔
Praying for all people in Taiwan. ❤😢 love from Australia ❤🇦🇺
The female newcaster who kept on reporting during the quake is tougher than a lot of men. Hats off to her.
Im tough too 😭
Prayers and thoughts go out to the people of Taiwan and their families
Scary. Hope there are not too many casualties.
And building still stands.
Apart from that 1.
2
But note, these buildings are 50 years old and though the ground level collapsed and the building is on a lean, the buildings stay intact meaning most people survive and can still get out. Still impressive, the main thing to avoid is buildings collapsing in on themselves, that's when lots of people die or get trapped.
That red building, I wonder if it was not retrofitted for earthquakes. I imagine modern buildings have strict building codes to prevent such a collapse. Regardless, that magnitude is quite severe, and to think only eight people died is pretty remarkable. I am sorry to those impacted by this severe earthquake.
感謝世界各國對台灣的關心
感謝大家
They’ll rebuild it all back to normal in a week….
China sent 30 fighter jets to Taiwan just after the incident, not for helping ofcourse
Propaganda?
What a sweet neighbor huh
@@eloisekimi3978😂 I like this sarcasm.
Taiwan has hundreds of earthquakes a year. I experienced a very mild one years ago. Scary stuff.
Hope people are ok and not many lost there lives
1:50 amazed it's all in 1 piece (mostly). Must have felt strange to be in that building when it happened.
What amazed me most is how they just go about there business 😂😂😂😂 nerves of steal

Prayers for the people 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
I hope all are ok 💝🇬🇧
Prayers for everyone in Taiwan. 🙏 may God bless those affected
Those affected are already dead, missing, homeless...how is 'god's blessing' going to help them?
@@verko5292 every one needs God’s blessing. Everyone can pray for His Grace. Bless their lives on earth and their souls in heaven.
Wow ty for explaining that... Its amazing how calm everyone is! Just watching this I cringed... Hope everyones alright
God of mercy, have mercy on your people. That is so serious
Why would god have mercy? Wasn't he who caused this (and all other) earthquake in the first place?
How on earth can one get used to this
the man in the pool was chillz
The dude in the pool gets me every time
Yes record instead of going under something and taking cover.
That something can easily collaps and cover forever, genius.
The Camera man always survives. Big brain move there.
@inisipisTV lol fr, thanks for the idea. I'll do that next time.
*these leaning buildings put the Leaning Tower of Pisa to shame.*
Oh my God 😮😮😮
This is very eye-opening. I wish them a safe recovery.
Якісно зроблені будинки, стоять раком і не розвалюються!
Being stuck on a highway would be scary. In films, they always come crashing down. There was a quake in Japan a day or two before. Tied together? Wonder how people got out of the tilted building. Again, so scary.
Prayer
I'm 52, have lived in California more than half my life. I've felt exactly 1 earthquake.. the 7.5 Loma Prieta 1989 quake that, among other things, knocked down part of the bay bridge. I cannot imagine becoming accustom to such a thing.
Earthquakes are one of mother nature's worst furies, yet the man in the pool is living it up.
I'm surprised how calm the people were 👍👍
Very sad. 😢
Praying from India for all the people affected by the quake.
That news reporter is definitely dedicated
The guy in the pool was just vibing
Prayers prayers
What would they do? ...Make god want to change his plans for us?
Imagine the amount of energy those earthquakes have to shake everything, including mountains, it's insane. 😳
That lady kept reporting and hanging on! I would have taken cover. I don't want to be in a swaying building.
That dude in the pool was straight vibing
guy in pool really enjoyed
I feel silly for panicking at our little 4.8 in NYC last week. This looks serious! Praying for all involved. 🙏🏾💜
OMG😢
The pool! So amazing!
They have monthly earthquakes and live on a fault line?? It may be colder but I'm glad I live on the good ol' Northern Canadian Shield!
Please Lord keep them safe
I can’t imagine how scary this would be. I hope everyone recovers as well as they can so they can move in with life. It’s terrifying to watch so I can’t fathom how scary it would be to actually be there. ❤
In the last days perilous times i pray for mercy.let us be on our alert.
Why is he in a swimming pool while theirs a earth quake going on
Guy in the pool like "wheeeeee!"

Построено хорошо, здания накренились, но не разрушились!

Its good to see some disasters that are not man-made...
What's it like living in a country where buildings collapse without controlled demolition?
Amazing scenes, natures power.
Psalm 104:32
“He looketh on the earth, and it trembleth: he toucheth the hills, and they smoke.”
Meanwhile, here in NJ no one has stopped talking about a 4.8 for days. Condolences to the ppl of Taiwan.
😢😢😢
Guessing the fallen buildings had soft stories issues -- looks to be buildings with ground floor stores, likely didn't build enough support to parts of them . There's been a lot of retrofitting here in San Francisco to fix soft stories as they're very vulnerable in this big type of quakes. IIRC the city government went around and identified vulnerable buildings and basically forced them to upgrade for public safety and occupants sake -- we're gonna get another big quake eventually where we are, and those buildings would likely have fallen.
Ain’t it something something big has to remind us we are not alone on this planet.
🙏
Wow,crazy
guy in the pool: weeeeeeeeee :)
¿El que estaba en la piscina debió salir o está bien que se haya quedado allí durante el movimiento?
Wow
Perante tudo isto nós não somos nada, apenas observamos o medo total da Natureza 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Any building can become "wonky" at 7.7
Is it ray oke?
