The extremes of effort to which some people will go to never ceases to amaze me.. Of course, how one person spends his or her money is strictly their own business; more power to them..

This is undoubtedly an era of excentricism and fanaticism, as well in vinyl sound philosophy
I like the amount of time and effort that went into this design. There is no mechanical vibration, it's magnetically coupled. The design might not be what some people like, as was read in a few posts, but you have to give credit where it's due. It is unique, try and find that. Thx for sharing!
I’m Guessing one of these Floating Tables sound Much Better Than My Old 1957 Garrard 88/4 Changer........? I still listen to Music on the Old Girl Anyhow.......🎵❤️🎶
Beautiful turntable. I bet the kids love it. I am currently continplating building a turntable just for the fun of it. Nothing like yours though. I bet it sounds perfect.
I beg to differ. It is the turntable that has the greatest influence on the sound, followed by the tonearm arm finally the cartridge.Linn demoed this many times, it was their whole "Garbage in-Garbage out' philosphy when they sold the LP12. I see what you are saying about the many excellent tables being available, I use an Elite Rock and Technics SP10mk11, but ultimately it is the table and tonearm that provide the platform. Its all about balance. You have to match the right components.
Interesting. Exceptionally expensive way to reduce the noise that may arise from the mechanical system of the turn table in order to be able to put it 37cm away from a 102dB efficient midrange horn and 98dB efficient Onken sub!
You're right turntables DO affect sound quality. Linn first drove this point home in the 70s. Accurate, undisturbed information retrieval from the record groove is predicated on rigidity and noise/resonance suppression in all parts on the turntable. Tracing microscopically tiny record groove modulations by a stylus is an extremely delicate process. Every part of the turntable with mechanical coupling to the record or cartridge has the potential to interfere and degrade that tracing process.
I know you are not that ignorant. Anyone who owns a turntable like that is going to have very nice speakers. Horn speakers are not limited at all in frequency response. There are many different types of horn speakers.
Now, Now the hate shouldn't come out because you can't have one. I think it was magnificent anyone would spend the time and money to develop a precision instrument. I frustrated myself just rewiring my Rega tonearm, so I have no idea how this person could do what they did. I do believe its a good profit for the eccentric craftsman, but like the others who showed their contempt, I have to ask why? Aren't their enough esoteric turntables on the market already, and how many people can actually enjoy something that expensive. I know the expense in this turntable will never be recovered. Even so, I give a 'here, here' to anyone who would try.
+D. Paul Riderman Exactly! Someone took the effort to build something that can deliver music and nothing else added, I admire that. And the attention to detail is something else.
Beautiful build, but you still have two strings pulling two drive the platter. So you need the elevation and movement making by electronic magnets , which can be done, but it looks impressive.... but where are numbers
why 3 tonearms, dont take me wrong, it a beautiful piece of artwork, the prinicple for the magnetic bearing is the same as my technics sl 1500, the magnets in the turntable, and the motor is in the base.. i allways thought iot was a cool design, but this is it on steroids 4 sure!!
It's the cartridge and RIAA phono stage that determines sound quality. The role of the turntable is just isolation and neutrality, if it be a 3 point suspended sub chassais such as Thorens, AR, Linn etc, or a well engineered direct drive such as vintage Technics, or 70's gems from Victor, Pioneer and Denon etc, They all do the job right. And the contraption in clip looks like a Servis washing machine turned inside out, but interesting nontheless...
Assumed one is for a high output MM cart, another for low output MC cart, and the third a mono needle type for 78's, which of course means a convoluted step-up stage is required.
Absolutely beautiful engineering and build. I am very curious about the proximity to the speakers. Is it OK to have the TT so close to the speakers? The table almost seems to be touching the speaker box!
FedUpLurker knows their stuff don't they. I mean with insight like that we could all land on the moon using some old toilet rolls, paper glue and an old firework (working of course). Also there is no difference between an Mercedes Benz SLK and an Austin Allegro. They both get you fron A to B. I couldn't convince my pet hamster that a Garrard 401 sounded more exciting than a Technics SL1210. He just scratched his face in dismay. Where's my sunflower seed he twitched!
wouldn't it be a better idea to use a magnetic bearing for the tone arm, to isolate the cartridge from external vibration? and just use a heavy platter?
I gather that the reason there are 4 tonearms is to make it user friendly so you don't have to change the cartridges for the styles of music? (Rock, classical, etc.)Beautiful machine. What songs were you playing?
This is laboratory equipment! Record playing as science! Long tonearms to reduce tracking error, moving coil pickups for the ultimate in fidelity, extreme mass turntable for rotational stability- BUT- THERE'S A •SPLICE• IN THE DRIVE BELT!
1) I have classic turntable and I do not have audible hum, noise, rumple at all ) 2) What I see here is NOT magnetic bearing at all. It is magnetic link between ordinary bearings.
Am I seeing correctly or the tonearms seem to be suspended by a magnetic ball bearing as well? This might be an even smarter move than the magnetically driven platter, since the noise from the motor is a pretty easy issue. The pivot, on the other hand, is quite a challenge. By the way, how do you keep rigidity to a tonearm that looks longer than 60cm?
I have been an audiofile since 1965. I have a feeling this is just a competition to see who can pull the eyes over the next rich dumb ass. The equipment the records were made on were not half as precise as the playback equipment you are showing. But no offence, I have family, and friends that are caught up in the hype too. Nice stuff though, but overkill and show in my opinion.
Seems to me that this is quite impressive, comletely neutral, and I can't agree that it's irrelevant over a Linn etc... I can here the outcome even through the digital compression.
Will you explain why there are 4 tonearms with the different lengths (and I'll assume different cartridges)? I also assumed it was for different styles of music; I even pondered for different speeds of records. I'm impressed and intrigued, but also at a loss to understand they they are different. For example, I would assume the longer the better, so why not make them all extravagantly long since? BTW, I think that Dr. Seuss owned an earlier version of this model. :)
Uuummm....you seem to forget that the tonearm (the most important part of the turntable!) is still connected to the base of the turntable. The needle is still in a groove being pushed to the center of the turntable. I believe there is still enough noise entering the amplifier. But remember. That why we have low and high end filters that remove most of it. And still it is, without a doubt, a nice looking overpriced gadget.
"THE ABSOLUTE NO NOISE TURNTABLE" Actually, this magnetic bearing idea is totally wrong! I am a mechanical engineer with decades of experience in suspension systems. All this magnetic bearing thing is completely wrong, this system is FULL of noise. The energy that hits all this mass still remains inside, there is no energy couple to outside world, sound is not lively, it should be dull. You must listen it against a top level turntable with a well engineered suspension to realise what I am writing.
Really is just a gimmick if most tonal arms are in direct contact with those big beefy motors and the lower stator... Silly really/ The arms look... poor..

More of an amazing art piece than anything else.

it's a proof of concept guys. This is awesome!!!

That is one crazy setup.
That's the turntable I use to play my albums on the International Space Station... There's zero rumble in space.

Turntable looks amazing

You know what, music sounds the best, when you just listen to it.
exactly right

I live alone and I suspend my table by hanging it from the ceiling and it does reduce flutter / speaker farts

If I had that kind of money, to hell with the turntable, I'd hire Neil Finn, Aimee Mann, or Richard Ashcroft to play a gig at my house.
Good looking...But a lot of nothing for quite unreasonable price...See Maglev for 900$
I am also curious why the strong magnets don't interfere with the sensitive magnetic field of the cartridge, can you help explain this?
In a same way why you don’t hear 50/60Hz hum with your cartridge (do you remember an electric guitar pickup?): common and differential signals
Absolutely beautiful engineering and build. I am very curious about the proximity to the speakers. Is it OK to have the TT so close to the speakers? The table almost seems to be touching the speaker box!

This "monster" inspires POWER!...
i like the music (first piece) who are they (or is it ?)
Thanks !

Yes I saw that too. Much like $2000.00 mag wheels on a Honda Civic.
It looks more like a piece of hospital equipment than a turntable!!! It would give me the creeps just looking at it. lol.
1) I have classic turntable and I do not have audible hum, noise, rumple at all )
2) What I see here is NOT magnetic bearing at all.
It is magnetic link between ordinary bearings.
I bet a cheap CD player will sound just as good
Ça, sûrement pas....
What is the music's title? My wife love celtic music.
Thank you
Little more information would be nice, . . .
Am I seeing correctly or the tonearms seem to be suspended by a magnetic ball bearing as well?

JUST BUY A 1210! HA NOISELESS BEAUTIFUL BUT BIG AND HARD TO BRING TO RAVES ALSO GOT NO PITCH CONTROL THAT I CAN SEE ANYWAYS.
ART
I need to make this bearing !! how do I do it please
You should get a little MP3 player, they are only a few quid and there's no rumble:-)

Just wait until the neighbor's kid knocks this over during a visit.

What version of iMovie is it? Thanks
Whatever joy I would experience from owning this would be negated by the homeowners insurance policy required to keep it.
BTW ....What was the achievement?
8-/ how much to have one?
I shudder to think what damage the cat would do when it jumped up.
I bet it sounds shit.
Phew! NO MORE RUMPLE!

The lengths people will go to play an LP that probably cost them less than $10.00
How stoned were you when you made or bought that?
J'adore ce pavillon LeCleac blanc
the music is the from the apple iMovie FREE music, which is including the software.
For what 4 tone-arm?
For different types of grooves, I give them credit for that but not for the fancy stuff.
price?
the same that it would cost to feed a small country in Africa sir! But totally worth the sound : )
what is musik №2??
I agree.
Cool Man Can u contact me?
Nice, but i prefer my technics.
They need to start reproducing these in China
Highlands - Stefano Bonacina
Magnets! Magnets!!!
NO RUMPLE!!!
OK NOW MAKE Digital Laser Disc!!!
Not swap it for my audio-technica lp60. I love it £100
all this fancy TT stuff with speakers that are very limited in FR arrrr! guy get a clue forget horn speakers
Horrendous design, it just looks ridiculous, it even has no dust protecting cover.
In all honesty I'd be too afraid of breaking it to use it.
No need to spend $1,000s of dollars on a turntable.
The Wa*k factor is as high,as that tonearm is long😆
horrible

All this tech. And then you see a cutting lathe with it's shitty little platter and bearing.
