You don't necessarily have to use an Amazon prime, just use a normal Amazon account with ur phone number... Else you can still use av/hdmi/usb option.

Why you want to use chromecast with this as it has FireTV built-in, still HDMI supported hai, you can use the chromecast with HDMI in that case you will have a choice to use both (one at a time)...

I haven't checked as I normally don't use auto on but will check and let you know.

It totally depends on your preference, I chose fire TV because we have been using a fire TV stick and are much more comfortable with it.
Both are good options, if the size is not an issue go with 40"+ FULL HD (Much Better Option)

If you are using a Dish then use hdmi cable, same thing with if you're using local cable but please note local cable doesn't provide proper hd frequency.
But still the HDMI cable should improve.
