@@DartLuke Not been like that for years. Carriers now need to be on grid with their fighters for the fighters to do something. Also, fighters can no longer be assisted. Been like that since 2014/15 :)

You mean the game has some sort of aim assist? Because the gameplay is basically automatic that makes the firing system fully autonomous as if the ship is controlled by an AI 😂
@@HwangInhoBooNam no ccp promised to get logi pilots on kill mails when the people who were shooting the enemies got repairs, so you dont miss out on the kills as a logi pilot while the rest of the fleet who doesnt need to rep and only shoot, gets all the kill mails on zkill

Hmmm, concerned about impact on carriers, but as someone said maybe a balancing incoming. For those complaining 'Amarr - no lazers' this is a Khanid T2 ship, which are all missile based so it's lore correct, but maybe they should have selected one of the other T2 corps to build it. Off the top of my head, I think Ishukone make rail leaning ships, so the lore part of my brain is happy. Practically speaking, I do wonder if it might have been better to go with some other T2 corps who don't use the 'non-standard' weapon systems of Amarr and (to a lesser extent) Caldari, but my guess is most of the functionality of these ships is in their fancy new lances, and their weapons will be comparatively 'meh' compared to even T1 dreads, at least considering the additional costs.
Yeah, perhaps lowering the sig radius on carriers to avoid instapop by Lancer?

I guess I hope the ewar / drain / debuff side of things is more of the focus than the damage, otherwise it may just feel like nothing more than a baby Titan DD, although the talk about sig radius makes me think the damage component might be considerable. I'd be okay with that too, but some variation from the Titan DDs might be nice.
it's actually really important that they did this since it's them making an effort not to step on the roles of existing dreads, which was their stated intent. The Bane looks absolutely gorgeous and I want one.
I miss when most Minmatar ships had a choice of both turrets and missiles, and shields and armour. Real mix and match.
I like the area neut around the firing ship, can't just blob up with the rest of the fleet without messing up repairs/weapons.
This is an especially cool little addition. Gonna change the look of battles if everyone can't blob. It also puts them at risk of getting singled out and attacked. So some different defensive strategies maybe?
@@mycroft16 Especially since the dread is probably stuck in some sort of extended siege and/or doesn't have enough cap to jump away.
@@mycroft16 ehhh. I dont think so. If its not possible to create a fit that negates the cap drain effect, or its not posible to organize logi to provide enough cap, then all that will happen is main dread blob warps at range X, T2 dreads warp at range X-1, x-2, x-3, etc. You can organize your fleets so they all stay apart from each other, while also staying in range of logi.Its more annoying to setup to keep everyone in logi range, but considering dreads have to bastion...its not like being called as primary is going to make that big a difference in a T2 rather than t1. Also, the difficulties in organizing a T2 to fight without capping out fleetmates might be so high that players just end up sticking with T1's for good. Kind of like how a lot of nulsec blocks just stick with T2 HACs for mainline fleets instead of upshipping.
I for one am going to maintain positivity and actually fly the damn ships to see what it is they are capable off instead of just outright bashing them before hand. i look forward to flying these ships CCP. kudos on the effort you put behind this and everything else that still makes this game the best even after 20 years. it must be acknowledged that you did alot of things right more than wrong coz i still enjoy the game.

Seems just a huge skills and isk sink? Requiring cross racial ships/weapons plus this Lance thing and now 4 types of dread faction, normal, navy, t2 🤔
If you are a cap pilot, and going into Tech 2 caps, you should have plenty of cross training already. These aren't low tier ships. They are "end game" ships. Everyone who is gonna fly them, will most likely already have the skills trained up for the exact weapon system. I mean personally, I have ALL weapon skills maxed. Even my spec skills are level 5. That includes drones, fighters, etc. Every single weapon system in the game, I have maxed out skills.
@@xPreatorianx1 well my cap pilots over 10 yrs old still don’t have all 4 racial capital guns or all types to max(maybe close). But some are based on faction so to, still more stuff so good to see how they play out 🤙
you do the same thing early game when you choose a race, you choose ONE of their weapon platforms to train/use first. now if you want to fly the other ships of that race that use the other weapon platform, YOU HAVE TO TRAIN IT. I swear half the people commenting have never even booted the game up.
@@DogNationUnited arguably people make more focused capital alts, but I don't know what everyone else has been training on their capital alts once they were done with those, but I cross trained into the other dreads because why not.

@@scheballs7we don't have T3 frigates either, I think the order I would prefer is T3 frigates, functionally similar to the "Build Your Own" concept of the T3 cruisers, since there's so many frigate types, and then T3 battleships similar to the mode select concept of the T3 destroyers, and then T3 battlecruisers, which idk whether those should work with the modularity of the T3 cruisers or the mode select of the T3 destroyers. Or the battlecruisers could do something different maybe, idk

I could really see Trigs doing something kinda similar to the Komodo from a lore perspective, but for game balance and to the preserve the Komodo as being the only Titan with fighters, I don't think we'll see that sadly. But yeah, I want some form of Trig Titan.

So what it seems is that Navies are still the extreme for DPS, but Lancers are for cc and less direct killing
yeah regular/navy for dread bombs, while the T2 dreads weem to act like siege breakers/artillery platforms. that wont want to get in the thick of a fight, they will want to sit far from in and hit the enemy balls of death with its lance. Subcaps may not die from it, but I doubt they will appreciate still

you know there are other amarr ships that shoot missiles right? And there are caldari ships that use hybrids too, its wild.
Money.. they want your focus trained characters to master new weapons to T2 extra large levels, making players sub for months or buy injectors to catch up.
Navy Dreads and Zirn are still gonna be the primary damage dunkers by the looks of it though. These doomsday dreads seem to be more of an auxiliary support role than mainline dakka.
I do wonder how much cap they'll have to eat to fire their lance, or if they have to be in siege to fire it either. Capital Neuts and Bhaalgorns just might save the day against them though

@@wingspantt The way Lances (in their current Doomsday wepn role) work, is they are a tight aoe stream of energy. No target lock required, so these will almost certainly affect alr. tethered ships

@@Kenabukanyo Tidi is a server thing, nothing to do with any one's rig per se which is what I assume he was referring to. Biggest fights are grand but so anti climactic when either side uses server limitations as tactical warfare.

As warping caps in a fleet still launches them at mach jesus due to them colliding, bumping and glitching together like an unoptimized half life mod :D
This is essentially putting the cart into play when you haven't even discovered horses yet.
Don't get me wrong- this is really exciting especially for the future of carriers, faxes & gameplay... but there needs to be a way of moving these behemoths around that makes sense and is scaled properly, nothing like moving 10x 4km ships in a 1km diameter ball.

Tbf it's a Khanid T2 dread, and Khanid T2 subcaps do use missiles.....so it's lore correct at least. But it is a bit of a pain if you aren't trained up into cap missiles.

doubt it. Old players (with multiple alts) got fed up with bad updates and broken economy/ industry, not with sub price, they won't come back. At least not easily.,
and new ones can play as alphas and slowly skill/ gather iskies to plex the account. If someone likes the game and wants to play, consistently plexing one or 2 accounts after couple months of play/ skill training to be able to fly better ships/ use better mods, isn't an issue. Not mining ore in high sec ofc, need to move out of the tutorial zone after 2-3 months.

So i assume that there will be more anomalies and minerals in low and null (pirate space ) becose like that more and more players will able too see and build these ships , otherwise Soverenity Space again will prevail ... there will be No battle and players if ships not been build and space to be provided.......o7

@@USSF18Pilot Back in the day it was a lot harder. I spent 6 months just training learning skills. Basically spent 1/2 year just training skills to train future skills faster. Now
Skill injectors = pay to win.
Ohh wouldn't it be interesting, if these new lances could actually break the tether of other ships? I'm thinking capital ships tethered to stations they can't dock in.
I dont think it breaks tether. It only prevents tethering if you hit the ship first is what I got from the video. So you need to lock and fire at a capital before it gets tethered, then it just sits by the upwell structure, unable to warp off, with reduced logi, and unable to tether until it dies.You cant just show up, lock an already tethered ship, and then fire to untether them.

I assume offensive use of the aoe neut effect was considered when tuning? If it is desired to only be a side effect to prevent stacking these up it would need to drain enough cap, while requiring enough cap, that it couldn't be fueled with boosters or a trivial amount of cap transfers (moot if it require siege).
If the tuning is off these could be used to cap out enemy capitals en masse

@@Mic_Glow I guess the problem I have is that caps in general aren't very interesting to begin with. Caps are used to kill caps.... at times it almost feels like an unnecessary part of the game.
Here they say, we're not making just a bigger badder dread... but in reality, yes, yes they are. It's just a bigger dread with a bigger gun.
@@Rikuto01 Except that's not it. You cant group these. These thinks prevent tethering and other actions. This isn't just a bigger gun. The AEO alone forces some tactical changes to a fleet including them.

@Rikuto01 yes... that's the point. To introduce new strategies and new mechanics into cap fleet battles. Can't just blob everything any more. Which is going to require protection for these ships, but they get drained if too close to it when it fires... so it's going to involve some rethinking.
I bet we'll see a lot of friendly fire :)

@@jebathga I have not, Zirns are still the strongest dread, when they get "penetrating" hits, it's well into 6 digit territory, and it happens frequently, I have owned every dread and most pirate faction dreads in the game. Zirn is the best non pirate dread.

Give us cruisers or BCs that can field a wing of fighters. Good damage potential, but vulnerable when defanged and alone.
I think the smallest ship class that should be able to take a fighter is specialized battleships if I'm being honest, since cruisers only get medium weapons, and battlecruisers can get medium or large, so battleships theoretically could take large, or a small amount of fighters in place of having an "XL" battleship

Amarr hasn't always been lasers, Khanid exists. And Caldari would better be served with rails, not blasters, since that's what their other weapon system is.
Sounds like an interesting concept, but one with a whole lotta worries attached to it. Given how most expansions like this go(read: horribly because CCP doesn't play their own game), this doesn't bode well. Probably woulda been a better play to try this concept on smaller hulls, like battle cruisers and scaled appropriately, first. Jumping whole hog into T2 capitals with new ideas is a heckuva gamble. Cost is going to be a huge factor, as is mobility.

Can we at some point get a dreadnought like ship that was designed to fit 8 capital turrets/launchers? I mostly want them because I think they would look really cool. My best idea for a role is to also give them Assault Damage Control and make them "surprisingly fast and agile" for their size.

I hope she is aware thats not true what she sais in 1:05 about faction dreads. they are exactly around 1.3 bil more, which is nothing when you check the baseprice of a regular one. a bpc cost below 1 bil now and they need 1:1 the same materials you just dont get the material effiency. For a whooing +50% base ehp. you are stupid not to use a faction one.
