Chaams is very underrated. He is an excellent actor and even better comedian. I truly hope he gets a good turn with lady luck!
For everyone's information . his name is Swaminathan. He is a native of Pudukottai. He is a DME. I worked with him in Xomox India Limited in Viralimalai, near Pudukottai. I am also a DME. I was in quality control. He was in production.
He and several other friends (almost all of them DMEs), displayed their acting skills in the factory day celebrations on July 4th , 1991.
We were together from Feb 1991, when I joined that company to June 1994, when the division he was working, called Gulde, moved to Madras.
The happiest years were 1992 and 1993, when we would have the entire company to us supervisors to ourselves, in second shift.
The recess time of 7-7.30 PM was when he would display his acting and mimicry skills.
Humour came naturally to him. I was a Carnatic music exponent then. He told me sometime in 1993 that he wanted to be a full-time comedian in movies.

@@sundart5451 உண்மையில் அது பொற்காலம் தான். எல்லோரும் 23, 24 வயதில் இருந்தோம். நிறுவனத்தில் கடுமையாக வேலையும் இருக்கும். சாப்பாடு இடைவேளையில் தான் ரகளை செய்வோம். (இரவு 7மணி என்பதால் பெரிய அதிகாரிகள் எல்லாரும் வீட்டுக்குப் போயிருப்பார்கள்.)
சுவாமிநாதனின் டிவிசனில் நிறைய நண்பர்கள் மிமிக்ரி செய்வார்கள். அப்போது குணா படத்தில் "கண்மணி அன்போடு காதலன்", என்ற பாடல் வரிகளை , சுருளி ராஜன் , தேங்காய் ஸ்ரீநிவாசன், ரஜினி காந்த் போன்றவர்கள் பேசினால் எப்படி இருக்கும் என்று ஒரு முறை லஞ்ச் ரூமில் மற்ற நண்பர்கள் கஷ்டப்பட்டு முயற்சி செய்து கொண்டிருந்த போது, ஸ்வாமிநாதன் அப்போது தான் வந்தான். உடனேயே எல்லார் குரலிலும் பேச ஆரம்பித்து விட்டான்.
ஒரு தவறு : ஸ்வாமிநாதன் திருச்சிதான். அவர் இருந்த டிவிசனில் நிறைய பேர் புதுக்கோட்டை காரர்கள்.

@@sundart5451 1999 ஸ்வாமிநாதன் கல்யாணப்பத்திரிகை கொடுக்க விராலிமலை வந்த போது தான் கடைசியாகப்பார்த்தேன். ஆனால் கம்பெனியில் நண்பர்கள் எல்லாம் "சுவாமிநாதனை அந்த டிவி ப்ரோக்ராமில் பார்த்தேன், இந்த சினிமாவில் ஒரு சீன வருகிறான்" என்று பேசிக்கொண்டிருப்போம். இது மாதிரி சிறு சிறு நிகழ்ச்சிகளில் மிகவும் கஷ்டப்பட்டு தான் இந்த அளவு வந்திருக்கிறார்.
2006க்குப்பிறகு நான் கல்லூரி மாணவர்களுக்கு கோச்சிங் செய்ய ஆரம்பித்து விட்டேன். என்னுடைய மாணவர் ஒருவர் பிறகு சினிமாவுக்கு போய் விட்டார். 2013இல் ஒரு முறை ஏதோ சினிமா ஷூட்டிங் ஸ்பாட்டில் ஸ்வாமிநாதனை ஒரு நிமிடம் சந்தித்த போது என்னை பற்றி சொல்லியிருக்கிறார். " சுரேஷை த் தெரியுமான்னா கேக்கறீங்க. நான் திருச்சிக்காரன்தான் சார்" என்றாராம்.
சந்தோஷமாக இருந்தது.

News of Crazy Mohan passing away didn't make cry though I am a die-hard fan of his. But Chamms interview literally moved me so much and I sense tears rolling on my cheeks.
