I am giving you a HUGE thank you, I have been sat here for the last 2 hours wondering if i've bought the wrong HDMI splitter then I find this video and you have the exact same one as me, and watching your tutorial made me realise I put the wrong cable in the Input and Output for my Elgato Card. So thank you very much, you actually saved me!

In all honesty, I don't know. I'd imagine that an Elgato is supported by an Imac or Dell. As for the HDMI splitter, I took a gamble and it paid OFF. That's about as much help as can offer. Sorry. Thank you for looking at my video though. By the way, this still works for me and no issues.
I've got a HDMI *switch* that takes multiple HDMI sources and outputs them to one. This doesn't bypass the HDCP protection like a *splitter* does. That's an important difference that caused me a bit of confusion. Also make sure that your chosen splitter actually does bypass HDCP protection, not all of them do. Just a note to anyone in the comments.
i have the same splitter and manage to get video on the elgato software and also to OBS but i get no sound, anyone else had that issue? did you solve it?
@@gods_andmonsters Thanks 1st for quick reply & do you know of a way to bypass this, if it’s constantly is recording all of video to onboard HD? From my my understanding of it - yes. And so does the capture card. I had more problems with my capture card because it wasn't recording audio at first but that was because I hadn't set my laptop up with permission to share audio. It took me a couple of weeks to find a video on what the problem was. This is prior to buying the splitter though.
Maybe something in the settings to your capture card? Unfortunately it's hard to diagnose every problem that somebody has. I thank you for looking at my video though. Good luck!

First of all takes some steps back. Did you have a black screen before you introduced the splitter? If not, go over the setup again and see IF you have gone wrong. Also, just check the various HDMI I ports in your TV settings. Check each one to see if a signal comes through. That's the best I can without seeing your setup. Best of luck.
