    I've never seen anyone leave their water pack behind to go climb a gnarly section🥵 - great ride, lots of people that have never tried something like that have no idea how tough it is, and how amazing it feels once you make it. Once again, great show from Morgan.

    Well done Morgan! You seem to have great stamina ;-)
    I use DIY flywheel weight on my 2019TI Husky. The disadvantage of clutch weights is they need to be a lot heavier for same effect, as the clutch rpm is much lower (imho: primary gear 26/73=2.8). A square rule applies here, as energy stored is proportional to velocity² (here rpm²). This means a weight (with same distribution of weight around axis) needs to be almost 8 times (2.8x2.8) heavier for the same effect. Its good you took the heaviest one available. If it works - it works, never mind it needs to be more heavy.

    • @highlandcycles
      @highlandcycles  Рік тому +1

      Yeah. That’s why I tried the heavy one first b

    Awesome that you entered yourself into a hard-enduro race even though its not really your favorite style of riding. It's not mine either, but learning the skills to do that kind of stuff, when I inevitably get into it, is pretty cool. Good luck on the upcoming race!! I'm curious to see if you pursue that kind of riding more and more once you thrash yourself around in it for a day.

    • @highlandcycles
      @highlandcycles  Рік тому +2

      Me too. We will see if I end up enjoying it. My upcoming race is a fast whooped out desert race so it is going to be cool to show that this bike will do both styles with just a few adjustments in between. The Hard Enduro I am going to race is in June up in Idaho

    Hey for what it's worth, I use the VeeMoto Force AT APEX on the front. As you know, it's not a gummy tire, but it is "tacky" or semi-gummy. I've been running that front tire in all conditions and the ONLY place it doesn't shine is in soft sand and mud. You'd think that the soft knobs would give while cornering but not so. They're firm enough to not roll and the sidewall is still a standard sidewall. I know you've used that tire but I can't remember whether you tried the APEX front. Craig probably told you he doesn't like the APEX on a front tire but he doesn't come with me to ride the gnar lol.
    Unfortunately VeeMoto doesn't have a gummy tire yet but I know they're working on it and I'm hopefully going to get one once they're ready to test. Going to battle of the goats this weekend

  • @Montana_Motorized

    • @highlandcycles
      @highlandcycles  Рік тому

      Yes. That is what some people do but those holes are really for settling the correct preload on the spring. You want the spring washer to end up flat on install. The manual does not recommend putting less preload to get a lighter feel. They want you to get a softer spring.

    • @highlandcycles
      @highlandcycles  Рік тому

    • @highlandcycles
      @highlandcycles  Рік тому +2

      Yeah, I know. just no options for these new bikes. And with the heavy one it did help. The nice thing is that they are easy to get on and off. You could seriously install if for a hard test and then take if off for a faster one.

    • @highlandcycles
      @highlandcycles  Рік тому +1

      Oh and I normally don't want any flywheel weight. I used to use them on my YZ250's when I was learning how to ride but once I figured it out I took them off because I liked the power. This hard enduro stuff is like learning how to ride again so hopefully if I get better at it I will just run without anything.

    • @bennymech
      @bennymech Рік тому +1

      @@highlandcycles totally depends on the type of riding and conditions. MX bikes want low inertia to spin up fast. I want high intertia because it bandaids my crappy throttle and clutch skillz in the slippery PNW woods.
