  • From Vertical Farming in New York City to the "Garden City" of Singapore, a new generation of ultra-modern skyscrapers is helping to revive city centers, spare the climate and check urban sprawl. Building "green" is now an economic necessity. The key question is how to build a high-rise that is both green and efficient. The first certified sustainable office high-rise is going up in Panama City.

This was a very cool little documentary! I liked it a lot, but let's get one thing straight. Blake Kurasek was not the originator of the urban 'vertical farm' concept. That honor goes to Dr. Dickson Despommier. There are some interviews here on youtube with him. he's very energetic and charismatic and passionate. I really admire him and his vision!

Roger Gibson Not only do I think it will, I'm virtually certain that vertical farming will come around. It makes too much sense for future generations (or even our generation) to ignore! I hope I'll live to see vertical farming become the norm, or at least very common/normal.
