In Kerala south india, we had unusually heavy rainfall this year. 300 people died in a single landslide incident. It rains so much for several hours in some regions. It's not cloud burst but not much different from that. Very destructive in nature

As nepali our capital is built on dried up lake. It was expected in a way that water level can rise. Nepal has many water bodies ->even the biggest tributary to ma ganga in india flows from nepal. NEPAL is still a land of wisdom (gyan boomi, land of vedh) as vedh vyas who wrote 4 vedh 18 puran, gita,mahabharat and so on was born in nepal. NEPAL had faced drought and rise of forest fire so this rain is still a blessing. We nepali are one of the few hindu who has a festival for lord indra. We heard from ground report there was a huge landslide near capital between two district & there was only one machine to dig landslide but was not in work due to diesel deficit.And there was confusion between two district who will pay for the diesel to save two buses and one hiace including 14 u13 football players,all of them died what a pathetic condition.
There are numbers of rivers and streams in Kathmandu valley.. and in recent times settlements are increasing in low lands susceptible to flooding.. inside valley flooding happened specially in those areas. And, besides Kathmandu valley there are numerous landslides around the valley.. even some road sections and few major bridges were swept away by swelling rivers and blocked by landslides. This devastation is something not seen in many decades..
