I had a feminist say that is what I was doing once when talking to someone else and went on a short rant about how sexist I was for explaining something to a woman (who asked me to explain something to her by they way). I told the lady (the feminist) I was sorry and to make up for it, she could follow me out the door when I left and I would not hold the door open for her, in fact I would slam it in her face it that would help her feel more equal to me, her obvious superior since I was a man. its all about money and shock now. has been for at least the last 15 years. I will say though, the fact that it was a decent debate was solid.
Research interferes with the "Gotcha!" moment. They know they'll get that moment, and no one will ever remember they were debunked.
@@harrymills2770 I agree. It was a trend I noticed while I was in the media (radio) and the interviews our guys gave politicians were very easy for them. No TRUE research done to have a solid debate and teach the listening audience some truth. I think a co-worker of mine put it best not too long ago. I just wish there was a single news source that tells the full story so I don't have to waste my time looking all over.
This is why we’re so screwed. These people publish or spout this nonsense as truth. No wonder we don’t teach history anymore. Hate to appear educated
You don’t !
Let's not forget history is always told and taught by the "winner." Remember forced adoptions? Something tells me that practice was left out of many history lessons over there. I say that because, as Americans, we are just as bad as concealing (and even denying) our bad behavior as everyone else. The fact that neither Wolf, nor her editors, nor her publishers, nor her agents caught this error just goes to show how desperately the whole establishment wants to believe in the myth of western malevolence, and how invested it is in propping up victim culture and identitarianism.

Very well stated James Edward
Well we wont run our BS past him again..
There's more to this story. A second version of the book was published. However, Wolf still kept in the story of Thomas Silver as a victim, even if he wasn't executed.
In fact 14-year-old Thomas Silver was charged with sexual assault of a six-year-old, and should not be considered a victim. He served two-and-a-half years in prison.
"AHHHH!!!" she says as she realizes her book is complete trash and meaningless, her publishers are going to lose so much money on all these books that have to be pulled from the shelves
I'm guessing the publisher will pretend they never found out the meaning and they'll keep advertising it and the liberal media will never expose it, and the book will make the same profit it was going to make all along

Her assumed definition of Death Recorded is very reminiscent of how the Woke like to change the definition of terms.
Exactly!
If you were to read "death recorded" how would you have interpreted it.

She wanted to publish a book, she had a moral obligation to get things right and ought to have carried out all due diligence. No, it wouldn't. Naomi sites many references, resources and sources in one book.

No? I doubt she wrote a 2 page book with only one argument in it. She likely had many arguments for whatever she was trying to make a case for. A mistake in some of her citations or evidences doesn't magically invalidate the entire thing.
Not necessarily, which is why she's not defensive or aggressive. It seems like a footnote she got wrong.
There are surely other arguments made that need different refutations.
That wasn't brutal at all. He identified a mistake and she vowed to correct it. No HARM, No Foul.
Naomi Wolf`s credibility - death recorded 2019
Maybe if she actually did research before writing her book she could have saved herself some embarrassment 😂
Ha come on she's told what to write , doubt very mush if she even wrote a word ?
The embarrassment only lasts a day while the book will be referenced for years to come. This complete debunking of her position will be forgotten and what is printed in the book will be accepted as the truth.
Embarrassment?? Liberals are no more capable of embarrassment than my dog is for pissing in public.
At no point does she actually take responsibility for her rather embarrising gaffe . This is the very nature of leftist ideology , They will disguise total lies with spin and ignorance, shaming and bullying without out a shred of reference . Its refreshing that unlike most feminist, she refrains from going crazy and on a personal attack when its pointed out to her book that her book is badly researched.
To be fair hardly any books are actually researched
"That's something that should be investigated" yeah, like before writing a book...
or like writng and publishing the book knowing its wrong but suits her leftie narrative and hoping nobody will notice and call her out.....she was too polished to not know she was wrong, it was a case of if not when she gets found out...that was the when
I think she just didn't know what it meant but assumed she understood it without looking into it further. My 9 yr does this too. Her arrogance is infuriating. Atleast this woman sounded like she took this correction well. Perhaps she actually is glad to know they weren't executed in the end.
That's gold!
OH, get real. 99.9% of the population are going to think that "death recorded" means that the person died and that fact was recorded.
@Shenny Syong Nope. Most people looking at documents seeing the words "death recorded" would think exactly that - the said person's death has been recorded.
Feminism has turned into this game of baseless accusations where its always and only the accused who have to present evidence for their innocence.
100% correct.
turned into? It's always been like that lmao, just look at the first suffragettes pushing the victim narrative, while going round throwing stones at windows, putting tar on statues, burning things, planting bombs and handing out white feathers to boys as young as 14, telling them they're cowards for now joining up to fight and protect them.
“Well that’s a really important thing to investigate”... she says after she has written a book and published it.

Exactly. She either rushed publication or lied intentionally. Writing a book properly involves hiring professional editors for layer upon layer of editing, which includes fact-checking. Part of the editing process is literally fact-checking.

Her response was fascinating. As an American, no one on the left here would allow the host to continue speaking, let alone actually listen to them. This woman at least seems willing to admit when she's made a mistake.
In America hed be labeled a nazi and demonized before he got thru his first sentence.

@Jeff grayston yeah I've seen her a few times . She was actually on the Ali G show way back. And she's pretty reasonable for a feminist.

Not sure if you were implying she isn't American or that the media isn't in America but she is an American and was willing to accept the criticism. But as someone on the left I still agree with your comment in general.
Haha that’s priceless, but to be fair I can see where the confusion came from on her side. I also think she listened very well after being corrected.
For everyone commenting, "Oh she's taking it well, she's listening, etc" She doesn't care about the facts. She had a whole team helping her work, her book will still sell to thousands of people who'll believe it as fact. She's not gonna care about the real history here even being called out. She'll listen if she gets sued. She's still gonna get her Capitalist building money.
Imagine how much progress we would get if people would admit their mistakes. Not with someone rubbing it in, but just realizing it.

Unfortunately, most people are not honest about the agenda of the marxist elists
This must be the most satisfying conversation I have heard in a long time from an interview. A candid revelation of facts without having to sound condescending and acceptance of her part without unnecessarily trying to save her face. A brutal revelation for a book but a refreshing convo anyway. Great journalism if those are the facts.
Feminist writings as a general rule tends to be sloppy in their fact checking.
The Beauty Myth (her claim to fame) was terrible for this, as well as building a giant house of cards based on "facts" she tries to establish through dubious reports, studies, and baseless claims in the first two chapters. By chapter three I stopped bothering to figure out the best way to debate points raised; they were all based on false claims from the first two chapters.
Sloppy is putting it mildly
Why would they fact check....gets in the way of the narrative.
Well, you can't let the truth get in the way of a good story.....
It's due to the lower reference standards in the feminist area of academic humanities. They all reference each other as proof without an original proof. And they act like it's a form of science when it isn't.
