As a Liverpool fan who watches him all the time I've noticed just how integral Diaz is to our overall press, shape and effectiveness. The best example of this is when he finally came back from injury at the end of the season we suddenly went on a 10 game unbeaten run. He's incredible. His real weakness though is that he's not a prolific scorer. Not at all. I think he's more suited to take on the role that Firmino had of being the guy that sets the tempo for the front line, holds up the ball and who distributes to the other 2-3 finishers in Salah and Nunez/Jota/Gakpo. Obviously the way he performs that role will be different to Firmino since Diaz plays off the Left but that's his general 'role' in the team. I'm expecting a 15g & 13a type player from Diaz.
Luis Diaz is been playing a lot with the ball and running defenders like nothing, but his final decision is not good enough, i think he could improve, because it seems that the finishing is the only thing he dont do well, he is really complete, i wish he stay at lv and show us if he can improve it
Diaz is a tenacious player, he can keep possession even when he falls. Funnily enough, his nickname is Lucho, which is how you conjugate "I fight" in spanish.
Have to disagree with some of your analysis. When it comes to technical ability, he is by far one of the best within the squad. His ball control and dribbling ability is the best compared to Liverpool’s attackers. Moreover, he’s the best at protecting the ball as he rarely loses it. He’s the attacker with bundles of flair. He reminds me of a young Marne but slightly better. However, I hope he’s able to replicate Marne’s excellent goal scoring ability.
His ball control, dribbling and passing are all better than Mane's IMO. Mane is quicker with a better shot and finish. So if he improves his finishing or gets consistent with it the sky's the limit.
@@mojebi3804 Marne’s not as quick as he use to be. Diaz has a lot of pace. But you’re 💯% correct, if he’s able to replicate Marne’s goal return, even Jotta’s …Wow! It’s going to be an intriguing season.
@@joshuakithyoma9575 Yeah Mane averaged 20g & 8a over his Liverpool career which is good for a winger but I agree isn't world class in itself. Add in the highly efficienct & effective pressing, ball retention, his ground eating, positioning plus chemistry with Salah & Firmino and that's what made him World Class.

Awesome analysis. Seeing what you saw in Diaz then is impressive and shows what talent you have for seeing players potential. (You just made another follower). I believe Adam Hlozek would be a great fit for Liverpool. Could you do an analysis of him?
At the moment he’s a rotation option for Mane. He can’t really play on the right as effectively and I don’t see him as a centre forward. Quite frankly it’s a waiting game for him to see if he can get in ahead of Mane.
He's already ahead of Mane in my opinion. He's been trending downwards over the last couple years. www.whoscored.com/Players/109915/History/Sadio-Man%C3%A9 | Front 3 should be Diaz, Jota, and Salah.....Mane & Firmino as the rotation players.

@@TheElChayanne he’s taken Mane left wing spot but smartly the Senegal star has adapted and found a new key role in the side which matches his current physical state.
Passing is definitely his weakest aspect, heading is really good nowadays At least. He is a good dribbler but he does struggle being a bit too tall sometimes, doesn’t look well balanced at times
Honestly the dribbling stats of Diaz and vini jr is wrong, Diaz dribbles are easily intercepted compared to vini jr, his lethargic movement doesn't make his dribbles smooth. he only has more ball retention but dribbling success rate is vini jr, no cap.

I’ll have a look at him and thanks for the appreciation- so jealous United didn’t get him 😞
Bros long pass is really good. Watch Liverpool games. Amazed.
If it's going to be 1.5 years until we see his real potential seeing his output now, then the rest of the PL should be concerned.
He’s already adapted quicker than I thought but his goal and assist numbers haven’t caught fire just yet - it will though!
@@PythagorasinBoots Mainly bcs salah and mane have been very very greedy with him, and its not only bad for diaz but for liverpool.

What do you think about his development more than a year later?
I think the injury has stagnated him as a player. Still relatively effective but doesn't give me 'world-beater' vibes anymore.
