The Mirror of Galadriel would be a good edition to the collection. I had an idea for a good series for you to cover. "Films/TV shows that took direct influence from Tolkiens work. Eg. Horcrux's in Harry Potter are inspired from the rings of power and 1001 other direct moments inspired by Tolkien. So many shows and films have direct moments taken from Tolkien. It could be a fun project to cover.
@@fingersTitan Everybody is inspired or borrows from each other, it would be to massive a project. Just look at Tolkien, he borrowed/was inspired so heavily by Norse mythology and Norse culture. The origin of Elves are 15 mins from where I live and I tell you, they are not nice like Tolkiens variants ;) Same with names like Dain, that is also known Norse dwarf and Gandalf means "Staff Elf" and Smaug is most likely Fafnir, the list goes on. To much to cover imo, just glad we have all the great inspired stories. Same as Witcher, inspired by European eastern folklore, same goes for Dracula etc.
Lurtz is one of my favourites in the whole trilogy. His fight with aragorn, though short, is so memorable for his brutish strength, pinning him with the shield, it’s an awesome sequence.
Exactly, amazing scene. It also beautifully highlights the power of aragorn. Regardless of the situation or opponent, give him a sword and 3 seconds, and you'll see swift and fluent display of greatness. If i recall correctly, even lurtz had expression of shock on his face when aragorn bursts in with the sword. IDK, it felt like a subtle hint at the potential skill of aragorn. A really good moment. Like great open-ended worldbuilding, leaving you to imagine and speculate more after seeing it.
I think it's important that they depicted him walking shoulders up and back, not hunched over like all the other lesser urkuk that are around him, he truly was a colossus of their breed!
I am so not a collector of movie memorabilia, least of all miniatures of the characters. But this is so bad ass that it is very much making me rethink my stance. What you read about Weta trying to make his stance look like he was moving and ready for the kill… they nailed this. Everything about this miniature screams Lurtz and ready to kill.
Lurtz has always been my favorite enemy in LOTR.....but im pretty sure he wasn't in the fellowship of the ring but still,Lurtz left a everlasting memory, also the use of his quill on his thigh rather than the back is just badass and it would feel easier to notch your next shot
Oh! Look at the styrofoam, that is incredible! I don't think I have ever seen light hit styrofoam like that before! Oh and those plastic bags were amazing! Thank you so much for this video, unforgettable styrofoam and plastic bags! I don't get what the fascination of pulling something out of a box is......
I know there are book purists in the world. I myself don't like when perfectly good material is trampled upon. But even really articulate fans can make content the is meaningful to this world for me. Were never getting it from any other source. So why not have fun with our lore and do with it as we please. obviously in our own heads
Is it just me or is lurtz the only uruk-hai/ orc we see with long hair like the elves. Just thought it was worth mentioning, don’t know if it means anything
I am familiar with it now! I'll check it out. I hope that the community of fans/players is large enough to support live play- which I enjoy more than online (kinda like how chess is more interesting live (for me, anyway). But, I DO live near Seattle, WA (and pass Wizards of the Coast on my commute) so the chances look good. Vis: Live play- I like minuatures a lot, and the craft of it. (To the point where I'm trying a ship in a bottle, and, so far, its just a little, tiny bit more complex than I had estimated! 🤔😐😓😲) Cheers. Cheers!

Can we get a collaboration between free publishing and NOTR and may be have couple of NOTR mellons and have a live stream game of the new The One Ring game? Through the doors of durin? just maybe.
Which statues do YOU want to see in our ongoing series?! Let me know here and we'll see if we can make it happen!!

Is there a Legolas statue?!
Argonath ;)
Saruman The White Wizard or King Aragorn 1/6 statue would be nice additions :)

It's a truly great fight sequence. Lawrence Makoare is the man!!

shortest yet most badass fight in the trilogy.
Es muchísimo mejor la Estatua PF Exclusive de Sideshow. Está de Weta No le hace Sombra!!
I swear the man of the dreams would know that I desire an item like this over a bag or jewelry any day.
I too am one of those type of gals! Yup!😁🧝♂️🧝♀️🧙♂️🍻🥔
I still remember seeing him in the theater for the first time, I was 28. He scared the crap out of me... still does!! 🤣👍. 🖖😁🤘🇨🇦
Back in 2004 I went to the Lord of the Rings exhibit at the Boston Science Museum. They had a life-size model of Lurtz. Pretty scary!
I want one! Awesome preview 👍🏼

Camera quality looks excellent, as well as the b-roll. Love the burst of excitement in the beginning of these statue videos.
They must now produce a 1:6 scale Boromir that is also a dispenser for those cocktail sticks for parties! The ones that look like arrows

He kills boromir in fellowship of the ring..
@@kingjohan1335 I think he means in the book. Which Lurtz was not.
He’s BA! He’s so BA! Best description ever! 😂
I will happily purchase all of these. Thank you for making and sharing this. My family and I love your channel.
Good news is Castle Kon has this same statue for even cheaper with free shipping!
@@RevAnakin Thank you!
@@RobertRodgers-r5h anytime! I'm a LOTR collector like you and started the business not to make money but to spread Tolkien far and wide.
Poses with knife. Drops knife. Perfection.
Your channel consistently keeps me from the pits of despair. Thank you.
I never noticed before that he's wearing a skirt, not trousers, like a torn improvised kilt and it's badass.
Lurtz def the coolest character in LotR!
WETA always takes such care with creating these items so like the originals...and it shows.
it's interesting it has a plastic wrap around the pieces, usually they use a type of paper. Nice video man!
Looks great!!
The face is amazingly real - well done!
9:58 ok now you are just having too much fun 😂 Lurtz looks 👍
Gotta say - the Argonath looks great!
Man that is cool. The polystyrene went through me though 😂
Sick! Great vid. Love it!
Get back to work!!😜
Reminds me of the bounty hunter, Leonard Smalls, from Raising Arizona
Can't wait for your New Zealand vid! Also, I was thinking a video on the Undying Lands would be amazing. Keep up the great content!
Absolutely badass
Get this guy a spinoff sitcom, "That's So Lurtz!"
One of the scariest characters to me...😱
Really cool. It would be nice if the actual statue was the size of the box image.
Love these unboxings!! They’re beautiful models but incredibly expensive 😅
Damn, that beautiful. I have Lurtz as well, but in a different pose
Lurtz will put on the hurtz!
Amazing content as always Matt! I wish I could afford one of these. One day 😂❤

Awwww man that is AWESOME!!!
Lurtz is one of my favorite additions the movie made. He was infinitely more badass than Ugluk.

Great job! 🎉
Great statue,congrats!
That opening is not earbud friendly but amazing figure!
Fantastic bro🎉
Get a boromir one and stick it next to lurtz remember me!!! 😂
The artist's name sounds more like Shee-win, unless it's Vietamese (I doubt it). Then it would be See-win.
I never understood why he didn’t name the channel “Lore of the Rings” missed opportunity imo
Can you do video on Tolkien's faith
omg i want the nazgul one
I know a video you could research now that you've done one on "What if Gollom repents?" Do one on."What if Sauruman never turned evil?"
Surely it should be Lurtz, Hunter of Hobbits 🤔 lol
Is it just me or is lurtz the only uruk-hai/ orc we see with long hair like the elves. Just thought it was worth mentioning, don’t know if it means anything
Im like doesnt even sound the same as his videos, until you start reading lurtz backstory lol it’s clearly ur reading voice
Hahaha! I guess my "kid on Christmas morning" and my "reading LOTR text" voice are pretty distinctly different. lol.

Is there a decent LOTR TTG out there? It'd be amazing of there was a LOTR community and gaming on the scale of 40k...

It’s too bad that Lurtz was made for the movie because he’s probably my favorite LOTR villain.
I mean as badass as he was, he only killed one man...
