From an old Italian winter camper: buy cellophane flowers and put it around all the windows, in a single sheet. The cellophane glues itself on the glass and creates a gap, preventing the wind and snow from becoming ice, it also has a slight ability to prevent the cold from entering. Furthermore, if you go around the vehicle with a single sheet, also close the slots of the door and tailgate seals, greatly reducing the thermal bridge. If you have even synthetic blankets, if you put them on the roof before turning the cellophane, you can block them with the sheet. With the snow that rests on the blankets an insulation is formed, under the snow there is usually zero degrees, but the blanket can increase the heat a lot, because it keeps what comes from inside. In the morning, roll up the cellophane and you can reuse it very well. If you want you can also lay the sheet on the tire tracks, so that the next day you just have to lift them to remove all the snow of the night. Finally, if it's really cold, use cellophane to cover the tires and the air under the car. allows for less heat exchange. You could also choose colored cellophane to allow you to show your car better or, on the contrary, to mask it. - - - - - sensitive topic, I in the camper have, under the driver's seat, this accessory connected to a 3-liter bottle, because, as happened to you, there are situations in which you cannot go to the toilet or you cannot go out, and the tube is long enough for the lady next door to use it. lcpshop.net/product/portable-toilet-emergency-urinal/

Such warriors, congrats! In the late 80's; my guy & I had got caught 2 hrs inbetween Golden & Revelstoke, BC rockies; with not one gas station, convenience store, hotel or rest stop within 2 hours; in a blizzard just like this; on a motorcycle!!! 10-11k feet
elevations; trying to drive inside the very few truck tracks at NIGHT, since few travelled during blizzards ... We had our thermals; leathers, rainsuits on & as he scraped the bike windshield all the way. I will never forget how devasting cold we were for 2 solid hours .... pulling our travel trailer. It was too windy to pitch our tent. I simply pretended the sting on my face was a sunburn & that we were actually laying in the sun. Somehow; we both managed to avoid frostbite; but was a trip I would never want to redo. LOL

As a camper I have learned to prep most of the food before hand. Cut it all . Pattie out meat. Season it all. That way all you have to do is cook and eat. Emergency like this have a small bucket with a lid. That way u can p inside. Then crawl over seats instead of opening doors .
Cant wait to see more videos. Live and learn YALL. ✨✌️❄️

Hey Guys!! We have been following your adventures for awhile so we thought we would introduce ourselves. We love meeting fellow UA-camrs and explorers. We are from WI but will be going full-time in a tent in about 16 months. Cannot wait to explore the PNW... I am not a big fan of winter camping but you guys make it look fun! We enjoy your adventures and are looking forward to more! ~ Terry and Terry

Just a couple of things that I’ve learned working outdoors in the cold and snow. 1. Wear a hat and scarf, preferably wool. You’ll be much more comfortable and have drier braids! Also, I always wore a vest between my clothes and coat. It keeps your chest&back area warm, and with the right layering, you won’t need to sleep in your coat. 2. Get used to “goosing” your car if you think it can’t get through (snow, mud, sand, swamp, etc.) And once you get it going, don’t slow down until you are all the way through. I never thought to use a camp stove like yours . I would make sandwiches (ham, cheese, cold cuts, salami, whatever you like) I would wrap them in double layer tin foil, then make a tiny fire to have a nice warm meal. In winter, brought a thermos of soup. :

I usually keep Jone hand warmers and chemical heat packs in my car for winter emergencies. My feet always get cold first no matter what, and being generally cold chews at my sense of mental well being. I gotta have some source of warmth during the cold season. That's just me though.

I'm from Miami Florida. Can you believe I have never seen snowfall. I've seen snow on the ground but I've never been in a snow storm. One thing on my bucket list is sitting in a cabin in the mountains during a snow storm sitting in front of a fire place drinking hot chocolate during Christmas. Very simple but I still haven't had a chance to experience that.

You should try northern Minnesota. We have great weather... for skiing, hockey, snowmobiling, ice fishing, etc. and if you don't freeze to death, you're lucky. You've heard that song... "when it's springtime in Alaska, it's 40 below?" Well, it often gets that cold or colder in northern Minnesota.

Pick up hot water bottles, they're cheap. When you go to your camp stove to cook, heat some water. Fill your bottles and tuck them up into your jackets so you can keep your core warm on extended stays outside. Young lady, the majority of your body heat escapes through your head. Put a wool hat on, even wet it will keep you warm and prevent heat loss. ( I'm an old school survivalist of 40 years. Hope this helps you. )

People think because a car gets cold when you crank the A.C. that it must stay warm... which is true, if your running the heater. But the floor boards of your car MIGHT be an 1/8 of an inch think, and that includes the carpet. Since running the motor in a snow storm to stay warm is a good way to monoxide yourself, I recommend a good mummy bag... maybe a couples mummy bag?

Aren't you concerned about the fumes from your cook stove being in your car?

As long as the door is open, we’ll be ok. Propane stoves, unless there are leaks, are pretty safe to use in ventilated environments.
