@@xxcridonxx7614its actually a literal translation , the kanji is sukunas shrine actually refers to kitchen dedicated to gods or ancient palace kitchens , another example of such a literal translation is yuta's " second to gojo in unusual capabilities" which has a better translation to " second to gojo in supernatural/jujutsu capability"
This is an example of both translations being correct but the interpreted one is better than the literal one

@@xxcridonxx7614yeah its kinda complex , i tried to shorten it basically the " shrine" refers to the rooms of ancient rulers where their cooking utensils were stored in their palaces , since these guys could be targets of poisoning or assasination so their food utensils were " shrined" so to speak , ofc i dont speak Japanese so this is basically what i heard translators said in the main jjk subreddit

For those of you in the English-speaking world, I would like to explain why 伏魔御廚子(Fukuma Mizushi), the domain expansion of Sukuna, was translated as malevolent kitchen.
First of all, the name 伏魔御廚子 (fukuma mizushi) is a very old Japanese word that is only used on limited occasions, so even Japanese people cannot understand the exact meaning. Many people find it difficult.
伏魔御廚子 (fukuma mizushi) is divided into “伏魔(fukuma)” and “御廚子(Mizushi)”.
伏魔(fukuma) means to curse someone to death. Also, if you just look at the meaning of the kanji, you can also read it as "lurking monsters". 伏魔殿(Fushimaden), which has the 殿(den) character that refers to a building, means a hall where monsters hide.
御廚子(Mizushi)'s 厨子(zushi) was originally a storage device used in the kitchen to store cooking utensils, ingredients, etc., but it came to be used as a storage device outside the kitchen, and was later used as a storage device for Buddhist utensils. It is said that it also came to be used as a storage device for both doors.
In addition, the 御廚子所 (mizushi-dokoro) was also the place where the emperor's meals were served in the imperial court.
In this way, each word in 伏魔御廚子 (fukuma mizushi) has a complicated meaning as an idiom, a kanji meaning, and a meaning based on the historical background, making it a difficult word to translate. .
Considering the above meanings, it seems that both "malevolent kitchen" and "malevolent shrine" are appropriate translations.

This song fits so well the entry of malevolent kitchen, because as we all know, sukuna was born in the heian era, an era where chaos and despared reign when sukuna was there, but lets not forget thats an old era in japan, so their music needed to have some vocal sounds and some instruments, sukunas theme should be scary.

I'm glad this BGM got people to do that honestly, the JJK OST is mad underrated imo, and I was introduced to it the same way, except I haven't even watched the anime yet (I think was caught up with the manga though) and this fight along with this OST convinced me to watch the more hype parts of the series in anime.
The way Mappa depicted the destruction caused by Sukuna and Mahoraga's fight was nothing sort of phenomenal, it was awe inspiring, astounding, I DON'T know how people on social media can complain about the animation, the animation was perfect, it was honestly even better than Mob Psycho 100 or even Demon Slayer's, it's just the loose artstyle that they're complaining about ig, but Mappa cooked and delivered fr, idk why it translated to "Malevolent Kicthen" instead of "Malevolent Shrine" though, guess there was a translating error since he still said "邪悪な神社", nonetheless, Sukuna's Malevolent Kitchen with this OST made it seem so divine+the destruction that was displayed

Nah the only thing worth complaining about is Mappa itself, they are overworking their animators and directors. The animators and directors working at mappa are the ones to praise for this masterpiece. The Sound design too, holy shit.

This episode (animation wise) was not as good as episode 16. It was more ambitious and the background animation was unbelievable, but the drawings were not just loose in some areas, but were unfinished and/or neglected in moments where it shouldn’t have been, and there were a few moments where the in-between frame animations were just not there or something. Other than that the animation was amazing, so my thanks go out to the animators, and fuck mappa. This could have been episode of THE DECADE if the scheduling and production wasn’t so fucked. It still came out superb, but as unbelievable as it sounds it could have been so much better.

Like u can literally hear fear from this music it’s divine and Heavenly but truly it’s the opposite of that and I would like to explain sukanas domain so this domain is a barrier-less domain expansion and it’s performs a mix of all the cursed energy of the-ill be back later edit: so as I was saying it performs a mix of all the cursed energy of the user and the actual person who Controls this domain is not just a random person it is a cursed entity-demon of base of arengity and deviltallity the range of this domain is about 236 meters

Listen to Limitless Cursed Technique (Gojo's theme). Sakuna's Domain Expansion theme is so similar - yet much more eerie. Almost like an inverted version of Gojo's theme. You can really sense the fear and divineness of Sakuna's power contrasted to Gojo's unstoppable and limitless power.
This is why it's called the "Shibuya Incident". Japan won't ever recover from this.
