I’m a person who always wants to 1 phase a boss. If we can’t one phase him first try, we are trash. If we can’t 2 even 2 phase on master, then we are dogshit.
I want to share a story. It was about 3 years ago, doing garden of salvation when it was still kinda new. We were a 6 man lfg squad, didn't know each other and made it to the final boss without wiping. Then we start the encounter, and 2 people got beavered as we started damage phase. They reconnected and we kept going. After 2nd damage phase we had 0 platforms and were living on well cycles, kept going. About to enter 4th damage phase, but we were missing one mote, and I managed to rush the teleporter and got in in time. We killed it at the 4th damage phase. That was the most insane / scuffed run I've ever had and let me tell you we were all laughing at the absurdity of it all at the end.
One time I posted a 5-man LFG for Nezerac cause all of my friends had to leave. We didn't get the one phase on him cause some people (including me) were whiffing, and I shit you not, the instant damage phase was over, *EVERYONE* LEFT WITHOUT SAYING A WORD. WHY IS THE COMMUNITY LIKE THIS. ON TOP OF THAT I WAS DOING THE MOST DAMAGE OUT OF ALL OF THEM FFS MAN
Conversely, when we're down 4 Guardians before we even hit the first DPS phase and we don't even managed to hit the boss while we're reviving everyone, no one wants to wipe and they think I'm throwing.
Only thing worse than almost 1 phasing a boss is when you say “ he’s almost dead just 1 more Phase “ and suddenly EVERYBODY forgets how to do the raid encounter and everyone starts dying 😵💫
My favorite is when the wanna wipe after we use 2 rez tokens. Or when something goes just slightly different than the tutorial they watched and they assume we can’t recover.

Had one run where be just barely missed it and one dude legit jumped off the edge and everyone asked if we're wiping, i said no just do the mechanics over again and we'll one shot him. Luckily we just all laughed it off after rezzing the dude who jumped and we finished
TBH I think this is why I don't care about doing raids after their first 2 weeks in D2. Everyone expects to do every raid in like 30 minutes. When in D1 that was like straight up speed-run times.

Besides, why risk wasting an invasion so we don't have one when we NEED one I've both won and lost games because my or the enemy team wasted the first invasion, and completely ignored gathering motes, letting the other team get a MASSIVE lead when we/they COULD have made it alot closer if people stop popping it immediately Because ultimately, invading early isn't helpful, especially if you're way behind, because the Primeval has yet to even be damaged yet And as stated before, yes it can MAYBE slow them down a bit, but sometimes people get so obsessed with slowing them down instead of gathering, that it hands them the win because we/they are so far behind that 'slowing them down' is WORSE than just mote gathering normally, because you/they force the rest of the team to gather without you, marking a 15 mote deficit...which is HUGE But nooo Wonderboys insist that 'slowing them down' is worth abandoning the rest of the team And they either: A. I shit you not though when I did Atheon my damage said 70k-100k (I can't remember) despite me hitting every single rocket. Next attempt my damage went back up to normal. This also happened to my friend as well. I swear there is something fucky with Atheon. This hasn't happened on any other boss BESIDES Atheon.
atheon takes increased nade damage with veritys brow so you can hit 500k per fusion nade and just keep throwin them so he defo has got some weird damage thing goin on

And if you’re someone who is in a rush, you should be playing anyways if you have things to get too. This dovetails into the issue I have with Destiny. If you are a casual gamer who only has a limited time to play, then you’re fucked. At war priest I was 100^% sure they wre fucking around but a joke is only funny one time and they kept on all the way to the end constantly crying about damage output like we were even going to wipe at all.. They had a melt down when had to a third phase of damage on the orge. I was like stfu and just kill the guy instead of crying. By the time we dreadfully made it to oryx I booted two of their asses out right at the final stand where the rest of us had no trouble finishing that off. ;)

Times vengeance increases your nades damage and recharge rate its why you really should just chuck nades on him your guns are far slower
