Abandoned: KFC/Pizza Hut - Charleston, SC

What's good, everyone?! Today's video features a look at an abandoned Pizza Hut/KFC. This building was originally constructed as a KFC in the Downtown Charleston, SC area. I found it pretty coincidental that a VINTAGE Church's Texas Chicken is located right across the street, and it is REALLY good, LOL. The KFC operated as normal until about 2011, when it was shown as being closed on Google Maps. The front facade of this building was iconic of many KFC restaurants. In 2012, this building was shown as being operated by a Pizza Hut via Google Maps. It appeared to operate as such until 2022, when the building was abandoned. I never ate at either of the restaurants, and always thought that it was located in an odd spot. Maybe that contributed to both businesses closing up shop. Maybe it will be repurposed into another business, or demolished entirely.
KFC is a restaurant chain that specializes in fried chicken. It is headquartered out of Louisville, KY.
Pizza Hut is a restaurant chain that specializes in pizza sales. It is headquartered out of Plano, TX.

Mannn that Churches Chicken has been in that spot for at least 40 years, when I was a kid back in the 80's, my family used to go there. My granny's, both of them, used to live in that area, go down Line St and a few more lefts & rights to their old houses...

Since KFC and Pizza Hit are owned by the same company, it makes perfect sense that it would get re-branded to another brand in their portfolio. Also, since Pizza Hut has moved away from indoor dining and copying Dominos and Little Caesar's with carryout and delivery only, what you found here makes sense.

Yes, so I went on Google Maps and went as far back as I could. The oldest, usable picture is from 2008. Though, I believe that this location was open for a while before then.
