Talent is talent. Pagan or not who cares? Really. I am a Christian, and a Celt....music such as this transports the soul to an age long passed if you let it and don't get hung up on who is "driving" Been going thru this bands videos and they are way way talented. A damned shame we don't hear songs as this on the radio in the States....glad I am to find them here though. Props to you and many thanks for posting this.
Love this tune, it evokes inspiration, and carries a great atmosphere, with just the perfect amount of mood to press forward with a delightful experience, of introverted reflection.
Als Heide wandle ich schon lange auf dieser Weld! Immer auf der Suche nach einem weg, einem Ziel!Höre ich Omnia bin ich wenigstens für die Zeit zu Hause und fühle mich geborgen!
WOW!!!!This is so Perfekt!!!!I like this musik, this band and really nice pics!!Every day i wanna go back to Australia, but this helps me a little for waiting to go home!!!Thanks!
As for the Irish story of Bran: Here he is the most important person of the journeymyth: Immram Brain (the journey of Bran). He was the sun of Febal. His big journey began when he found a silver branch with white blossoms. When he showed it to its relatives, a woman appeared with strange clothes. She sung about islands bigger then Ireland and they had the most beautiful woman who didn't knew pain, disease or death. Luck was for those who lifed in these parts of the world.
Same here... :) I am rapidly becoming a BIG Omnia fan. I am predominantly into Metal, but I do enjoy virtually ALL / ANY music. For the Celtic-Metal genre, I would highly recommend: Eluveitie, Fferyllt and / or Skiltron
feelings i have hearing this tune... i cannot describe please, brothers, sisters, let us all try as hard as we can in whatever way to get rid of the judeochristian plague. so that our forefathers don't have to curse our ways from the depths of their desecrated graves.
Continue of Irish story: Bran and the crew thought they went away a year. But in reallity, they went away many years. (you should know, that time in the Other Side was different then the real time) A crewsman wanted to go home, so everybody went home. But a woman there said, they may not set any foot on land again. By the Irish coast, Bran saw nobody recognised them anymore. And he appeared to be a person of legends who went for sail many years ago.
I think This one and Fairy tale is the nicest video's as far I've heard ;'3 Harp is a healing weapon. It makes people stop fighting.. The soft music will surely slowly heal the world in tones.
Bran Fendigaid (the Blessed / Celtic God of Regeneration) was the son of the Sea God, Llyr and, maternally, the grandson of Belenos, the Sun God. His name means Raven, and this bird was his symbol.
Give the Eden album by Faun a listen. And Nicky Bendix. He has a bandcamp account, find the album Midnight in the Enchanted Forest. In fact here's the link. You can stream it for free but I would recommend buying it because it helps supports the artist. nickybendix.bandcamp.com/album/midnight-in-the-enchanted-forest
I have been trying my hand at writing similar type of music. check out a video on my channel called "reconciliation" if you are interested id love to hear feedback. long life and good health to all
Continue of Irish story: for that reason, Bran wanted to go away again. But 1 crew member jump off the ship on land and suddenly changed to ash, as it was like he was death for centuries. That was the Irish story. I hope I explained both the stories? :)
@MrOsmose i love apocalyptica as well. and omnia. and lots and lots of other music :) i think lots of omnia fans are indeed open minded towards different music styles..
Continue of Welsh story: But when Matholwch is back in Ireland, he treats Branwen bad because he is still insulted for his horses. When Bran hears this, he sends an army to Ireland. His head is taken back to Britanny and burried where the Tower of London stands today. The raven on the tower stands for this story.
The name Bran from (ancient Welsh) might appear in the bretton language but as the brettons bacically originate from The island of britain (Prydain) and speak an off shoot or branch of My lanuage Welsh (Cymraeg) the true original mother tongue of the isle of Britain & Brittany , It doesn't suprise me that the word means the same. The world famous mythical characters such as Arthur , Rhiannon , Merlin (Myrddin) , Branwen , Taliesin , Aneiran hail from ancient Welsh writings I:E Mabinogi Legends.
Continue of Irish story: Then she dissappeared, with the magical branch. Bran couldn't keep it in his hands. The next day he went to the west with 27 realtives. while travelling, they met the seagod and he also spoke about the miracles. The sea seemed to be full of flowers. Later that day, they reached the Island of Happiness. In the evening, they reached the Womanisland, but Bran didn't had the courage to set a foot on land. But the beautiful woman said it was allright and then they went on land
For the Welsh story of Bran: It is a story from the Mabinogion, a very important book of story's. Bran appeared the most in the second branch of the 4 branches of the Mabinogion. In this story, Bran is the king of Britannie, and the sun of Llyr and Penarddun. Matholwch, king of Ireland asks the hand of his sister, Branwen. Brans halfbrother isn't happy with it and hurts Matholwch horses. As Bran is sorrow by his halfbrother's sin, he gives a magical cauldron to Matholwch
Bran means Crow ...Brân the Blessed = (Welsh: Bendigeidfran or Brân Fendigaidd, literally "Blessed Crow") is a giant and king of Britain in Welsh mythology.
Curious.. crow is врана (vrana) in Bulgarian. It is interesting as there is a number of words present in other langages which have undergone the same change. Take for an example 'barbarian' - варварин (varvarin).
@MorSamhain i'm not sure if you've already had a reply to this post or not but Omnia currently don't go to America. It all depends on if any festivals over there will book them.
@MorSamhain I forgot to mention in my last reply, though Omnia have not yet been to America, Faun, another wonderful band, and friends of Omnia will be in America in the summer
@arazmataz1 I generally agree. I don't think that Rap technically counts as "music" (talking + sampled music), but one can not argue with the poetic nature of its expression. I personally despise it, but I can appreciate that aspect... Anyway, I also wanted to ask if anyone knows if Omnia ever performs in the USA? I would really love to see them!
@33dgtp Hrm. Close, but not quite. "Pagan" is technically used to refer to worshippers of polytheistic religion. In Christian tradition it has come to refer to all non-Abrahamic religions (mostly Judaism, Christianity and Islam, though there are and have been other branches). 'Heathen' carries essentially the same meaning. The pejorative note has only grown to be added later. Of course, that doesn't make 'Paganism' a religion. It's an umbrella term.
Well, Omnia is from The Netherlands. Yes indeed, they use a didgeridoo and/or a slidgeridoo. That is what I think it makes it sound like Australian. :) But the title 'Bran' is more Celtic. You have 2 stories about Bran, 1 Irish and 1 Welsh. But to be honest, I have no clue if this song is ment to tell the story of either 1 of them. Probaply yes, but I'm not sure
Hey, where did you get this version of Bran? I only have the 'live' version from the cd 'Live Religion'. That one is a little bit slower, but just a good to listen to.
@itaschi I fully agree. It's not because person x is a christ and a person y is moslim, they can't listen to eachother. Both in talking and in music. I've listened to some music from moslims, christians, boedhists, etc too and I liked their music.
Bran is translated as Crow. According to welsh mythology Bran was a giant and king. It's linked with the Mabinogion (and here we link irish and welsh mythology) But I guess Bran is a name you'll find more then once if you start looking into it more deeply.
Talent is talent. Pagan or not who cares? Really. I am a Christian, and a Celt....music such as this transports the soul to an age long passed if you let it and don't get hung up on who is "driving" Been going thru this bands videos and they are way way talented. Amen to that! Truly transcendent and inspiring art 🙏❤
Love this tune, it evokes inspiration, and carries a great atmosphere, with just the perfect amount of mood to press forward with a delightful experience, of introverted reflection.
Listened alone in the nature with a sublime landscape, what happiness

I can't stop tearing up every time I listen to this :(

I love Omnia, and the pictures were lovely ^^

Bran is a britsh celtic king who plays a role in the Branwen legend, wich is a branch of the Mabinogion.
The pictures were lovely, along with the song. This is officially on my favourite list

Bran Fendigaid (the Blessed) was the son of the Sea God, Llyr and, maternally, the grandson of Belenos, the Sun God. His name means Raven.
You didn't ever have the opportunity to listen to one, so you went green with envy.
not everybody likes metal but I like metal and I need the music of omnia to relax.
MfG
Can anyone recommend some more songs like this - folk, ambient, instrumental, acoustic, slow? I need a whole playlist for studying.
Try Wardruna. They do Norse folk, and are most /certainly/ ambient and atmospheric with their music.
Yes, I know them, they are amazing indeed. Still thank you. :)

Bran Stark from GoT. Guess he was named properly
I've read somewhere that he has been buried with a raven upon his head. And also that his skull head would be beneath the london tower.
it actually means Raven not crow
I'm from another language, so I apologize for my ignorance, but crow and raven ain't the same thing?
awesome!!!!!!!!!!
@MorSamhain i'm not sure if you've already had a reply to this post or not but Omnia currently don't go to America. It all depends on if any festivals over there will book them.

Du hast nach dem Album gefragt bei dem Song Bran von OMNIA. Das Album heisst: Live Religion. Du findest es bei amazon :-)
Hörnerfest 2011 OMNIA!
Great Video
Beautiful music. Any1 know wich kind of flute is that?? Thanks!
So I think the people who disliked this are cruel and heartless.
really relaxing =)
Ok thanks :-) I couldn't find what kind of flute it was, but it was so beautiful I asked. It has a really good sound!

I only have the 'live' version from the cd 'Live Religion'. That one is a little bit slower, but just a good to listen to.
I agree. This is a great band. Are the band members actually Pagans? Or is it just the style?
@itaschi
I fully agree.
It's not because person x is a christ and a person y is moslim, they can't listen to eachother. Both in talking and in music.
I've listened to some music from moslims, christians, boedhists, etc too and I liked their music.
