"mmr reset" is so funny. It initially put me at 3 divisions below my last. 1st win I went to my regular rank. Won the next 3, no movements. Lost the next 6, no movement. It's almost like placements don't matter at all....
It was a soft rank reset, not mmr reset. That's why you are still around the same rank that were were before. It's more for them to accurately place everyone where they should be. It's about getting derankers back up, and boosted people back down. It throws a wrench in their plans and makes them struggle to do it again without being banned. It's also more for people who dropped like crazy from bad circumstances and get stuck in elo hell of their division. Or people who just freaking get lucky and hurt their teammates as they slowly drop back to their proper rank.

No clue if the Juno buffs were necessary, we are still in the phase to figure out how she should be played and the secondary fire is pretty much an RPG aggro button in the metal ranks. ^^
They absolutely were necessary, just maybe not the correct ones. But in the Playtest everyone agreed after the three/four days that she was super solid and fun if slightly underpowered feeling. Then the Devs nerfed her HP and nerfed her primary fire heal and damage by 18% which is insane and was so bad for the hero
4:00 if you are hardstuck metal rank I don’t recommend this advice. It’s very hard to lose a 4v5 so if you’re Moira is dosing or your rein is feeding you better go in and help them or you’ll be down a teammate. Switch your strat according to what your team is doing because low rank teammates won’t stop what they’re doing to help you.
Nah he's right, sometimes when I go in to support someone that clearly can't play, like you can tell they are new to the game or bronze level, I have to keep reminding myself during the game that I shouldn't go out of position like this dude because he's probably new to the game. It will get you killed more often than not. If the person knows what they are doing then the argument swings the other way.
No I completely understand. I have been comparing her to Lifeweaver since release. They learnt nothing from releasing an extremely underpowered hero. At least LW has SOME uniqueness in his kit.
19:00 worst part is, Matchmaking is seemingly ALWAYS working against you as well. So you almost always end up playing against a much more cordinated team that will milk the fact that your low elo teamates arent comfy with a certain playstyle. And you guys end up losing because you NEED that playstyle in that scenario to get over an obstacle, but cant do it because the one trick mercy is too afraid to leave backlines
Take the L man! Or get good!!! You are in the rank you are supposed to be! If You were good enough you would rank up and eventually be in your desired rank!

I'm not sure if it's the ranked reset or what, but there's been multiple moments this season where I call out a lone enemy player stranded and an easy kill and I go to take them out expecting my team to devour them with me only to die before realizing my team fell back instead and let me be surrounded... don't trust your team
Kiri at lower ranks has a low win rate because your out of position teammates soak so much dmg that you’re constantly holding left click until they die between suzu cooldowns. Your matches where you get to contribute dmg look fun tho (exaggerated point, but I stand by it)

"Switch your strat according to what your team is doing"
He's literally saying this.
“Everything’s getting poked down “😂
No I completely understand. I have been comparing her to Lifeweaver since release. They learnt nothing from releasing an extremely underpowered hero. At least LW has SOME uniqueness in his kit.
Love the clash game mode
I'm all for nerfing healer damage but then healing will need to be buffed to keep it so healers can contribute anything to a win
@@manh-haimuller6027No. Ranking system is broken. People need to stop making excuses for it. I dominate every match I'm in, win or lose. But the game wants to keep you at a 50/50 win/loss rate. So I'll get a decent team one match, we'll win. The next match I am matched up with teammates that run in all alone and get killed before our team can group with them, or they refuse to fall back when we're outnumbered 5-3 and the enemy team is Ulting.
So...why are good teammates that know how to fall back and group placed in the same rank as teammates who play like it's their first Overwatch match? It doesn't make any sense. The rank system is broken.
Part of this is due to the fact that there is no rank system for individual performance. A shitty Silver player can have a great team and win and be boosted to place in Gold, whereas a truly Gold player can be given a shitty team and demoted to Silver.
The system NEEDS to have individual performance taken into account. I had a match as Juno where I had 26 kills, 16 assists, 6 deaths, 10000 damage and 16000 heals. But my team still lost, all of them with around 6000 damage and over 14 deaths. I only had one player willing to group up. The rest kept attacking solo or in groups of two. I shouldn't lose the same 20% progress as they did. They should lose more or I should lose less. Then I would eventually be ranked with teammates that have the same skill level as myself.
@@Jason-rl7nfstats aren’t everything , also just play with friends .
Just scrolling through the chapters and suddenly "AVOID WINSTON". Poor monke.
I'm not sure if it's the ranked reset or what, but there's been multiple moments this season where I call out a lone enemy player stranded and an easy kill and I go to take them out expecting my team to devour them with me only to die before realizing my team fell back instead and let me be surrounded... don't trust your team
Gold and below - two death balls looking at each other. That is LITERALLY gold and below. Even low plat sometimes.
It’s such a different game
How the hell is Sojourn not a mobility character?
Because she's not. She's mostly a sniper. That's like saying Widow is a mobility hero.
@@ReaveIdono I mean yea sure but widow and hanzo both have lower hp than her. I think it would be fair to bring her down to 225.
@@ReaveIdonoShe has one of the best mobility abilities in the game. It's 100% better than Hanzo leap
@@ReaveIdonohanso isn’t a movement character either lol
Mobility characters usually have a good in and out strategy. Think about Tracer, Sombra, Genji, Doomfist.
Kiri at lower ranks has a low win rate because your out of position teammates soak so much dmg that you’re constantly holding left click until they die between suzu cooldowns. Your matches where you get to contribute dmg look fun tho (exaggerated point, but I stand by it)
Send in a replay for this for sure.
@@YourOverwatch It wouldnt be very entertaining 🫠
Yeah for real right now everyone is playing Juno, so go greedy damage tanks and get a support to go ana or bap, keep tank up/sleep n purple theirs and just run them over
Yeah my placements were all over the place. Trend continues
29:59 Ok...who are you and what did you do with Freedo? Pronouncing her name correctly?! Inconceivable!
Freedo's exclusive "I'm Mad About Playing with Dumb Players" guide
Isn’t that representative of the entire OW playerbase
@@KKJazz certainly a lot of them. I don’t find it very productive. Don’t think you need a specific guide to play with people worse than you (especially since most people incorrectly think it’s the case all the time and not just after a rank reset) , just play and win and you’ll be in better games soon
I was quite confused, Didnt they have clash before? Just had a different name?
No no no...I am not climbing out of freaking silver again... urgghh feels like I have to go through high school again. I can do it, I've done it before, but spare me the hassle, I guess I'll sit out of competitive for the forseeabke future.
sombra feels way stronger with her buffs, shes pretty hard to deal with even if you know shes coming at least for solo ques
Tbh i dont like it when strategic heroes arent meta. Thankfully, we have Juno and Lucio.
Solo ult to only kill sojourn is craziness 💀
18:01 almost an hour long video was all a ploy to call out the kiri lmao
Lucio needed more dmg every other healer except mercy has amazing damage. I think lucio needed this after his boop nerf.
So sad everyone is ignoring that Echo got gutted.
Was M3 last season, and placements were so awful that it's predicting P2. I was getting people who were GOLD last season on my team from the very first match. Genuinely such an awful experience I'm considering uninstalling. I'm quite unhappy with the direction of the past few seasons, and the matchmaker destroying the match quality was possibly the last straw for me. I went 50 and 8 and almost lost to a DPS that went 11 and 16 lmao. AWFUL.
Sounds like the kills you ARE securing aren't impactful enough if you almost lost with diffing that hard...
@@ReaveIdono you watched one guide and understood none of the concepts. If you think 11 kills can be as impactful as 50 in any circumstance, you're a clown
@@ReaveIdono did you maybe consider my point about the matchmaker. The issue was having a gold support who was misusing their entire kit on Juno. :) there, no more need for you to make assumptions
don't encourage people to smurf/cheat
Smurfing is not cheating... If you happen to see a smurf in your game that is a learning opportunity for you anyway. You won't get better by not playing better players who punish your mistakes harshly.
@ReaveIdono Smurfing does nothing but feed the ego of players who are hardstuck in their own rank.
If you have a Masters/GM player smurfing in gold, there is nothing they are learning. The skill discrepancy is way to high which ruins the match for everyone involved.
only smurfing cuz of the rank reset
As stated above, sometimes the smurfing isn't even intentional. It's just Blizzard's broken ranked system doing its thing.
as a diamond supp hard stuck gold idc 😂 nah jk i do but i can’t do anything about it
My record is 2-21 this season
Does the mediblaster buff also increase healing to 8 per bullet?
no, max healing per bullet stays at 7
Ana keeps catching indirect nerfs, I guess it's another season of not playing her
I was low plat in support and tank before the reset. Started playing and won and my predicted rank rn is silver 1 for both after starting off 2-0 and 3-0 in them. Stupid
With clash AND flashpoint in the comp queue, I don't think I'm gonna get a rank this season. I'm not even sure I'm gonna play QP, it might be an arcade season for me
I would like that tank guide pls
it's going to be long... start making popcorn.
I think the tips are useful. But I don't like normalizing smurfing in OW
Ah yes the "deployable metas"
TORB'S BUFFED?????? OH SHIT I GOTTA COME BACK! (Seriously haven't played since OW1; Torb is my favorite character)
The enemy team just wins when they cap 5 times regardless of which point it is in clash… not sure why you said they only win if they cap the last point it doesn’t just go forever
did the defiintion of 'smurf' change? i don't understand your use of that term here.
How do you get your Winston cross hair to be a dot but still show the charge up?
Circle. Show Accuracy.
I heard my disable playstle is good for this meta heard.. lol I main Dva Somba Brig all I do is try and stop plays
I absolutely love Torb, I have never played dps because it's what my group likes to play. But even though I like supports like Lucio Torb is just super fun. I really gotta learn how to play him better though
Was there really a "mmr" reset??? Me and my group had the exact same Wide match and single possible role lock (cuz of rank diff) as before.... Nothing changed for us at all lol...
They need to nerf supports damage. You shouldnt be able to heal and kill at the same effectivity
Are these more changes??? I swear they’re different from the Day 1 Season 12 patch notes
Yes. They are hot fixes based on how characters were performing in the open playerbase.
Do you have a patreon?
Watching Fredo's Juno gameplay after watching Yeatle and ML7, it's hard to take his input seriously.
Who's Batiste?
I won 7 placement games and got placed into bronze 3
I just played 5 games...lost all 5 because of the tank.
Game is still so frustrating playing where 1 player makes the game unwinnable...
this season is so confusing to me, yall feeling luke warm on it?
My biggest complaint right now is que times I usually solo queue and my dps and support times are always 2-5 min and tank is always 1 min it’s like they want me to play tank and I’m gold and plat rank
That’s literally how it is no matter the rank or mode….
That's odd, for me in quickplay it's currently 1 min for each role which usually isn't the case
what's wrong with 2-5 minutes?
love your videos. keep up the good work. please don't ever turn into one of those whiney Samito type streamers.
All the counterswapping has me so apathetic to this franchise
I'm so sick of Juno already. 90% of people don't know how to play her right.
Let me tell you: i play DPS Juno 💀
Frogger is the most loved and popular streamer in OW2. This is why they buffed lusio ❤
still a bad patch no diff
